- In today's video, I analyse a range of midfielders I believe are suited to Chelsea. I previously covered this topic, however a lot of the targets previously mentioned have either agreed terms with other clubs or are unavailable.

If Kimmich wants out from Bayern then he is the one we need but I don't think he will leave for Chelsea without Champions League or even leave Bayern for any other club. He is also a leader which we lack in our young team. So, let's hope for the best.

Nobody can say no to a world class player like Kimmich, but I think we will have the same problems anyways... Bayern Munich is desperate for a number 6 to "unlock" Kimmich further, that's his best position, obviously he's been playing in a pivot for years, but Goretzka is not good enough in the defensive phase and that's why they're trying to bring Declan Rice. Now let's bring the same scenario at Chelsea, I'd say we will be in this exact scenario because Enzo-Kimmich limits themselves to their biggest strenghts, kinda like Kova-Enzo pivot, that didn't work and is a win-win situation if Kova leaves because that's why we bought Enzo for.

I think Chelsea should try to trade Havertz for Tchouamerni since it doesnt really seem like Madrid wants him. Also, Lavia is average. He doesn't feel like someone who could come in and elevate this Chelsea team.

I like the options you laid out, personally Declan is still my favorite target with Caicedo close behind. I think the mostly one we could get is Lavia, Rondon, and Viega. Also some of the goal scoring from Viega I would not worry about since Celta were in a relegation battle all year, and that was more a symptom of a lack of goal scoring from the team. I think he still has the creative nuance to fit in as a team player, especially with better talent around him.
If he's not mentioned in this video, Tyler Adams from Leeds would be a cheap addition with PL experience, great performances for USA in WC, and solid defenseively to replace Kante's prior efforts.
Kimmich was the name I through out there as the one I believed should be our number one target back when it looked like Julian was coming as our manager. There is definitely some kind of rift forming at Bayern and Kimmich looks to be unsettled. We can forget about prem proven concern with him as he is absolutely top class and I can’t see any of the current squad making a fuss about someone of his quality coming in on a higher wage and maybe even taking the captains armband.

@@thequicktake Loved the video. Didn’t know that Bayern could sell Kimmich. At 52 mill it’s a steal if we can get him. Any way we need more may be three midfielders with all the exits. Kimmich / Rice / Caicedo. Two of them and one of Lavia as the third or the Argentinian boy
Although Kimmich sounds interesting on his ability with Bayern and at the age of 28, he is currently at his prime and Chelsea could sign Federico Redondo as the understudy to Kimmich. My first option remained as Declan Rice and I see both he and Enzo are a formidable partnership and at the age of 24 (Rice) and 22 (Enzo), they could form a long term partnership in the pivot. Both Kimmich and Rice could bring the leadership to the team although Master Silva will be there although I don’t see him playing all the games, hence either Rice or Kimmich would be a better option as the new captain (or vice captain to Silva). Kimmich could mentor Federico Redondo and having two best Argentinian young pivot partner at a club level certainly looks promising. First option remained Rice although Kimmich is certainly not far behind as I like the idea of seeing Casedei / Santos and Federico Redondo as an alternative to Enzo with Rice / Kimmich just too good to be true.

Aston Villa had just signed Tielemans for free. Chelsea's transfer board is just way too stupid to look beyond statistics and hype.
Eriksen was sitting right there in London last year, for FREE, and the board never saw him. Then Utd snatched him up and he's been a very useful player since.
I mean, look at Chelsea's best signings in recent years. Thiago Silva, Giroud, Badiashile, Mendy etc. Those type of lowkey signings always seem to work out better than those big money signings and that's not a coincidence.
Maybe one of our Cbs (Fofana, Chalobah, Colwil or badiashile) can play Dm? Or turn reece into a full time DM as we have got malo for Rb. Recce can certainly play dm as he did for Wigan. Also it cud be a win win for both the club and Reece. Club saves money on Dm position, Recce moving into dm may help his injury situation.
Are these young guys we might buy for millions be any better than the ones we have in Casadei and and Santos? Thats the test. I would go get Caisedo and leave it at that. What we really need to save the money for is a proven finisher.
Think you have listed a lot of the main targets as you I was really sold on Ugarte watching him both times against Arsenal and Spuds but his wage demands were crazy. I would have loved to see Rice but not at £100m and 300k per week. Caicedo is a great player and prem ready. If you had a Lavia as a back up it could work but alternatives for me would have been Florentino Luis who also had a great season and apparently available at a decent price (35m quoted) and Alvarez who could have filled the rice void of dropping into the centre backs like dyer used to do but he seems like he’s now signing for dortmund

If Chelsea can sort out their FFP issues, then I don’t see why we shouldn’t go for Rice. Until then, we have to get people in our price range. Chelsea can sort out an installment payment plan for Caicedo if anything. Kimmich would be an ideal signing that fits into Pochettino’s system and is cheaper than the names I’ve listed so far. We would just have to get Kimmich to agree on personal terms and we’d be basically golden. I say go for Caicedo and Rice if we can ,but if can’t then we could go for Caicedo and Kimmich.
Sorry to comment twice, but I don’t believe Veiga is being signed to fill in as a backup to Nkunku, but rather to replace Mount and play an Eriksen like role as the right attacking midfielder.

@@thequicktake Yeah that is my one concern with Veiga, despite how much money he would bring in I would rather give in to Mount's demands and keep him. I am bias towards academy products, but he is quality player with two pots awards and he is perfect for Pochetino so I think he is worth the wages he is asking for.

While I absolutely rate Redondo, he may not be what Chelsea needs this season. He has a lot of talent but is still very raw, if we get him he would immediately be sent out on loan, which means we still have the issue of a defensive midfielder open

In my humble opinion it's Rice or Caicedo. We need to get one of these two with Rice being the preferred option. We need to give West Ham what they want. We need to persuade Rice. If we're serious about making top four next season this is the nr 1 area on the pitch we need to sort out.

Trying to sign Tchouameni would make perfect sense in my eyes, I would love Tonali but similar to Enzo and not a priority right now. Tchouameni, Caicedo and Lavia then CFC central midfield options would become unbelievable if they grew together and were utilised properly

Well they need to sign an attacker to replace Benzema even if Rodrygo is used as a central striker they then need a winger. They need a full back for each side and just spent 100m plus on Jude Bellingham. Biggest club in the world or not they still have their limits financially. With their outrageous central midfield options I think it will be Valverde or Tchouameni who are sold. Camavinga gets more game time than Aurelian at this moment even if much of it is at LB. Someone will be sold. It could happen that Camavinga forces his way out because he isn't being played in midfield. Tchouameni could still be an unbelievable player for Madrid if he stays I'm sure he will do great things for the club. I want Chelsea to sign him for a reason. Even if it is a pipe dream in many people's eyes
i think it will be wiser to go all out to sign declan rice. i dont think we need to buy another young midfielders.what we need a proven and experience midfilder to play alongside enzo. for backup just utilise what we have at young player since i believe pochettino will play double pivot with amc in front of them. use remaining budget to buy class striker to put goals in the net and a reliable gk...and just give whatever mount wants because i believe under pochettino he will become a great asset. just clear all the deadwood so that it will not distrup the team. oh how i hope to get rid of cucurella and promote ian at left back.

I'm unsure about Kimmich. Not because he is bad or anything, but because him lesving Bayern for Chelsea sounds like a bit of a longshot. We'd have to hope and pray that the locker room issues Bayern seems to have are worse than we think.
Still, if there is a chance to get him, he should be the first choice, absolutely. 52 mil for Kimmich is an absolute steal when Palinha is going for similar or greater fees.

Sorry, I thought we just bought Enzo to do just what Kimmich does. Enzo needs to increase his assists and goals once we hopefully get Caicedo. But I agree, we need to replace Kova, but with an attacking midfielder with a final pass and an eye for a goal. Paulinha should be an option only if we don’t get Caicedo.

ATM Bayern will never let Kimmich go. And even if he wouldnt consider a none UCL Club for a transfer. I would like to see Lavia and Paulinho. In terms of money both will more or less equal out with Caicedo in terms of transferfee and wages. We have Carney as the 4th option for DM/CM. That should be enough for a season without european football. Also Kimmich needs a DM along side. Pretty much like Enzo.

Lavia is too raw for me. He's got caught out of position many times, and try to tackle to make it up but failed and leaves the opponents through on goals. Yes, his pass and ball carrier is good but he's not solid defensively. His short pass more like a backpass at times. That's why his ball progression percentile is low but he does ability to breakthrough defences with his passes. Problem is, that's enzo job so he's a no for me, yet
