LOL I found myself stranded on the interstate with a screw in my tire just like that on one sunny day. Had somewhat of a mirical get me out of the situation, I'll tell you about it some day. Things always seem to work out in the end on the road.

Many times when I find a nail or screw causing a tire to leak and no time to fix I pull it and replace with a larger machine screw and put perm-a-tex on the threads.
When I was a teen with no money that was my permanent fix. 🤪 Wont help if ya run tubes tho.

There seems to be more people living off their motorcycles now a days, Scooter Tramp Scotty Style.
It pays to know people, this lifestyle will work for some, but not for everyone. Looks super fun, but don't think I could do it! Money doesn't last forever for a lot of us, what ya going to do when if ya broke and have nothing? That's what I think about, think we all get the negative thoughts on why not to do something n talk ourselves out of it. It's one thing to talk about it, its another to actually do it! Scotty is the GOAT!

Decades ago my button on electric start popped out i used a pencil took eraser off to make metal contact to start it .a little duct tape on saddle bags would keep it from breaking other latch be safe .jjf.west of west phila.pa .

Good thing you found that nail..I picked up a nail that flatted my rear tire doing 80, on I-80 near Bloomsburg, Pa. Luckily it was a tubeless tire and bike remained controllable...with the two other guys I was with, we pooled our CO2 cartridges and came up with sixteen to get the bike somewhat rideable with the Stop and Go mushroom type plug...and that was no treat on the shoulder of the highway. Wonder how the newbie is doing now?

Flying across Indiana one time on 90 stopped at a wayside just before Ohio at a rest stop walked up to my my bike and there was a screw in the back tire. Right on the very edge and did not penetrate the carcass so I just left it the tire never went flat. When I got to a place where I could service the tire I pulled the screw out and never lost any air. Rode that rear tire till it went bald. Rather be lucky than good. Just sayin'. Later STS.

Every plug ive ever tried, and theres been many, has failed. Comes a time when youre just done. If fix-a-flat seals the hole ive never had it fail, or i just put a nice tube in. Plugs are Mickey Mouse. Tubes are not 😊

Sorry, but im almost never safe at any time Fearsome, which has worked well for me. In fact, if i did worry about such things i dont think id be able to do much of any of the things i love doing. The whole "be safe" thing is a modern idea. We didnt have it when i was a young man 😊

The whole "be safe" thing was created by the media Fearsome. It didnt used to exist before the tv started pushing it. I think thats what bugs me about it. Its made many Americans afraid and i find that disturbing. Hang tough my friend 😊

Here's one for Scotty I was riding down the road wanted to turn right pushed my right turn signal button you know my left blinker turn on so what the heck is this so I hit my left turn left blinker came on hit the right turn left turn signal came on hit my four ways every time I hit right turn signal button the left turn signal would blink replace module check the wiring couldn't figure it out went to my local Harley dealer who I knew a long the service manager down sometimes the switches get a little winky replace the handlebar switches everything was fine after going through a lot of shit

That was a Yamaha Bolt, it's like an improved Sportster for less $. I've got 93,000 miles on my Sporty and not feeling the need to go bigger yet.
Jordan's bike was defiantly adequate.

i now this is months later but why don't you carry tier plugs. man they save my life. I'll get a nail in a brand new tire ,plug to and it'll be good till i change the tier.

@@scootertrampscotty oh yeah if your going to pull the tier they make a plug/ patch that gose though the hole and patches from the inside. but thats weird because ive never had a plug fail. do you use the glue, waite a while and cut the plug even with the tier? Ive had tiers that had four plugs in them that hold up great. and i do 1000 mile days. gravel/ dirt roads ect....

Yup. Plugs with a patch. Mushroom plugs. Other kinds too. Some installed by guys, others by shops. They work for lotsa folks but not for me.
