We were at Freddie's last ever concert with Queen, Knebworth 1986, 140,000 fans, it was pure magic. Never to be forgotten.
Official Queen fan club members were so lucky. The band often invited them to participate in the videos, for example "We are the Champions" - Queen performed the song in New London Theatre in front of like 50-100 fans, and after the filming of the video the band played a free show for them with a great set list.
I knew that the "Champions" video was filmed w fan club members, but I DIDN'T know about the FREE private post-video concert... I don't think there's ANY other band who has appreciated/treated their supporters BETTER than the Queen boys!
One of the most beautiful songs written by John and Freddie. They were an amazing duo.

Wow thank you David, and my own personal jackem. Yes it was a surreal day as being part of Queen fanclub being invited to the filming of the video. I've paused video many times but never spotted myself but not sure where to look as I was in 4 locations during the day and not sure which clip was used where. Remit of the video was to make a video looking like Queen live. I've heard that when they thought they had enough footage Freddie was messing about on the supertrooper lights as it looked fun. When Freddie saw it he wanted it kept in but directors said no as didn't fit in. Yes you were right, audience was to fade out with the track but Freddie said he wanted the audience to continue singing and directors thought that that was a brilliant idea. Aledgedly Freddie then said it had to be both ideas or neither. Not sure if it's 100% true but I certainly can imagine Freddie saying it. Thank you David & everyone else for your Birthday wishes. Yes I love my music but I think 49 gigs in 80 days is a bit excessive 🤣

The ending brought me to tears because Freddie loved❤️ the fans so much and it was obvious in how he made them a part of the show, I wish I could've been there!!!😭
I love this video - one of my favorites for its pure joy! I’d realllyyyyy love to see you do “Time Waits for No One” (not the original musical version of the same song called “Time”, though it’s also great, but the recently released acoustic version. 2019 I believe. Dave Clark, a friend of Freddie’s who produced the musical by the same name in the 80s, had him come in and sing some songs for it, but had lost the original version (with just piano; instrumentals and backing vocals were added for the final production) as well as some original footage for decades. It was all on reels! He was finally able to locate it and put together the stripped down version with just Freddie and the piano with an all new music video as well. It was like he came down for a quick visit to sing a song. You’d love it!
Agree totally! David would love the recent version found by Dave Clark. It gives everybody goosebumps! That to me is better than the original version for the show. Stripped down with Freddies vocals at their pure, passionate best. 💕

Friends Will Be Friends was the first and only song that was sung at the end of concerts between We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions since the News Of The World Tour in 1977. During the video shoot with Queen fan club members, Freddie high-fives members, & at the end cuts the mic & sings along with the audience, letting them lead. Because of this, the performance was nicknamed “Queen’s Greatest Show Never Performed”.

I was always jealous watching this one and The miracle video. I didn't get into Queen till I was 12 in the 1990's. I did get an appearance in Brians vid he did with Kerry Ellis which kind of was the next best thing.

Great song of its time, referencing phone cards and actually writing letters lol. I have been in the fan club for 30 years so I just missed out on this experience. I received my membership on the morning of 25th November 1991, I thought God was actually taking the piss that day.

Great song. Brian has said he regrets this one not being a single, i.e. a hit. It's definitely one of his best.

Been a Queen fan for nearly 50 years and have seen them live many times including Live Aid. But this tune is absolutely awful. Sentimental, commercial. I can’t even listen to it for a second. However still the greatest band of all time.
