How to stain a wood door and more

- In this video I stain pine doors and install trim around the doors. I also install base board trim and talk about granite countertops and future episodes. The wood doors cost me $135, from a surplus store. If you buy these doors from home depot or Lowes they will cost twice as much, about $280.

Hi, I am not normally a fan of stained doors and other things, but in this case I like it very much. You put in a lot of yourself in each of these houses and it shows.
I find it as it depends on the stain, if it's light enough where you see all the knots and grains it looks good in my eyes.
So much fun watching this house progress along. It's looking great.
Cream of Tartar...."If you have migraines just put a little bit under your tongue and then mixed a half of a teaspoon with about 8 oz of water and I swear on my life, within a few minutes I could feel the migraine easing up. Looks great. I like the wood switch plates. Also Walnut stain is really in Vogue right now. It is sharp. Especially on oak. White wash over pine is quite 'in' as well, golden oak is hard to match with today's decor has been the comments I've heard... & I would trim the headers over the doors to match with no over hang...would make the house look bigger & less cabin like. I'm a builder too, I do spec houses also. I've built over 200 & with cute tricks like u use. Thanks for the videos. U have Some good ideas. Love the ceiling!

Have you tried a 2 story small footprint home design? Similar to this but having a third bedroom/master suite upstairs with loft landing? I'd love to see a design/plan like that.
I built that before and at some time in the future I'll do it again. I love lofts.

I'll share the total cost when I am done wit hthe build. As of right now I can say it is less then 100k and that includes land.

Sorry I dont have a link but I got them at Lowes for $20 each, then the glass part was about $7 bucks.
I wish I could actually walk through the house to get a feel for the size of it. It looks roomy even though it’s small in square footage . Do you ever build near the Greensboro NC area ?

Love the doors! Just one question? Do the nails make the door frame worse? Can wood glue or some type of glue secure it as good as nails and not have the nails showing?

The nail holes are so small you cant really notice them, unless you go looking for them. Beauty of wood, with all the knots and grain it blends in very well.

@@whoyg Check ebay they have older versions that are cheaper, that is how I bought mine. The new versions can cost over 3 grand.
