I really appreciated the tip about using bolts to suspend the door on the saw horse, making it easy to flip the door over and finish the second side while the first is still wet. This trick will save me a lot of time.

The stain is Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain in the color Golden Oak. The clear water based finish is Deft Clear Wood Finish.

Great video Teri! I have a quick question, should I use a wood conditioner prior to staining an unfinished red oak door? Thanks:)

On a custom built door I used to apply very light prime, then spackle /putty, sand down and then basic primer. I've been thought that fixed areas will last longer. A little bit more work, but you don't have to look back 😀

Why spackle and not caulk the gaps ?

I'd like the name as well... I hate the off-gassing of many of the clear sealers for wood.

You're a little too heavy with that spackle huh?😅😂🤣
That's OK..., you just have to wait 10 times longer before it dries, then sand the hell out of it.😏🙄
