THE END of Van Life • Everything is Breaking & Paying Our Respects

- We are traveling and camping along Highway 395 and California's Eastern Sierra in our 4x4 camper van.
The van life day starts at a free BLM campsite in the Alabama Hills, which are really cool rock formations and home to Hollywood film history. Then it's time to hit the road take care of van life chores, visiting a car wash with RV bays, dumping and filling our tanks and finding a welder.
Along the way we find really good ice cream and pay our respects to Rebecca's grandparents.
Our stopping place for the night is a free BLM dispersed camping area called the Trona Pinnacles. We share a nice evening next to the campfire and then I crash the drone.

Awe, so lovely you got to visit. Great blog🌷🌞
Loved it. Used to be diehard mountain/hills/lake admirers, but the older we get, the more we enjoy the beauty of the desert sunsets of the south west.
Almost 60 y/o, a grandmother myself, and I still cry like a baby over the loss of my grandmother, so hard.
Safe travels, you two!
So nice of you to include visiting Becky's grandparents in your itinerary!
Thanks!
Awe. Sucks losing grandparents. Lost my grandma when I was 12. Lost the other one 6 years ago. Miss having grandmas around
Don't call it quits NO NO NO NO!! You are one of the top youtubers out there don't ever give up !💯❤️
Hi Ben and Rebecca there's 2 things that set your videos apart from other Nomad type videos.1st you always provide very well-done scenery. And 2nd thing I enjoy is the documentary style commentary of the different locations. Thanks for that and thanks for sharing!!💗.p.s.Rebecca sorry but it does get better than that it's called HOT FUDGE and peanut butter 😆 And as always safe travels 💗
LOL, I concede, adding hot fudge to peanut butter would definitely top it!
@@outliersoverland 😆 Once you try it you'll NEVER go back to regular choc. believe me!!💗
Loved this series. I have fond memories from a 2017 trip up the 395. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful Scenery!.. Thank You for Sharing and Happy, Safe Travels!..😊🌲🌞🇺🇸🌟
I see that you got our sense of adventure from your grandparents as you show pictures of them with an RV and an airplane
Yes!! It’s in my blood, airplanes, RV’s, motorcycles, boats! They left no adventure stone unturned. They were lots of fun to grow up with and very inspiring. R~
The cemetery part tore Ginger up. I love the country song about grandpas living forever.
Very good episode, while we are still digging out here in Alaska after our big snow dump your episode really gave us encouragement that spring and summer is close and hopefully we’ll be able to get back to the RV life. Thank you.
Hate to see you go. Luckily, there are plenty of CZcams campers to get our fix. Good luck in the future.
We are not going anywhere is was just the end of an adventure. Stay tuned for videos from Mexico.
Love the scenery on this one. Gives me another place to try and get too soon.👍
I'm a big fan of your channel. It's my escape from the day to day stuff. Your videos are very well made, are fun and informative. And the soundtrack is great. Best wishes from Lisbon, Portugal
Great series. Thank you
Love the series Ben and Rebecca, don't needle Ben too much on the Drone. One bright spot, it made an awesome finally to the series. LOL
Cool series. Interesting territory. Can't wait for more videos like this.
Great job on this series !
I really like your videos in series like this. keep them coming. Thanks
I like Duralogs and a nice fifth of bourbon, then a nice paella or Ribeye for dinner about 9pm. Great video!
*talks about dumps & ice cream in the same sentence 😋
On a serious note, it's nice that you visited your grandparents sites with lovely memories. 💐
For those that still have them, cherish your grandparents and parents. I never knew the pleasure of fishing with either of my grandfathers, they were both gone long before I was born. I only saw one of my grandmothers once that I remember, but fortunately I saw lots of my other grandmother. My parents are both gone now but at least I have memories of them. Don't they sell repair parts for those drones?? Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Great series. Made me laugh and teary-eyed. Sorry about the drone. Don't forget to keep the motor. Thanks Don
Alabama Hills(?)....gorgeous place! Minus the motorcross bike. I'm happy to see you were able to visit your grand parents at the cementery. When you were talking Rebecca I cried with you. I need to visit, and pay my respect to my parents, and younger sister in Texas, it's been 2 years since my last visit. Its a hard thing to do.
Amen for the occasional instant fire log! Worth it to get the duraflame when you can. My life is full of autism, and I LOVE my son more than anything in the world, but quiet, outdoor moments and travel is next to impossible. Really enjoy your videos - I try to imagine being there and it gets me through hard times. Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad that you guys made a visit to the Grandparents at Ridgecrest. That was a beautiful thing to do.🌹🌷🌺 🍦🥤I guess a fake fire campfire is better than no campfire!🔥The Pinnacles are fascinating to see, but it seems as if you've really outdone yourself in capturing everything in that location with the drone! 🤭🥰
Thank you for showing us such amazing places, we don't have anywhere off road in the UK. Looking forward to the next vlog.
thank you for detail video
the drone footage of you driving the truck is top notch
you are doing good good luck
Grandparents are special, how I miss my grandma.
I love your videos! I'm sorry about your drone!
Wow. I love those rocks...
Nice job guys👏
So cool!
Feeling for ya Becc. As for the drone, it’s better than crashing an ultra light. Lol.
Just started watching your blogs. Good stuff. Sorry about Shelby the dog.
Wow amazing camp spots. Sorry, but I had to laugh about the drone. Looking forward to seeing more of your travels.
Beautiful country guys sorry you wrecked your drone safe travels guys
The drones are repairable. I always explained to my children when you miss some it hurts, the more you love them the more it hurts, so this is a time to embrace the pain as it means you really love them. I am sure they are with you every day you are out there, they probably avoid Alaska in the winter if they where desert people.
C'mon.. got all excited when I saw the preview of you washing your rig at the truck wash. I watched with anticipation and then you pulled into wash and then bam, maybe 10 seconds of washing action then done. You spent more time on dumping your cassette toilet. I missed the live feed of the ISS space walk for this!
If you were only excited to see me wash our rig you really should be watching a live feed from the ISS.
And ''Happy Patrick's Day!''🍀🍀🥤🥤
Was hoping to hear Clint Eastwood playing music like he did for Unforgivin and most Malpaso productions. Perfect environmental music for there. Stay safe and enjoy family time.
Great series thanks. See you in Europe next?
I wish. I can’t wait to get overseas.
@@outliersoverland same for us. Hopefully not too long!
I really enjoy your videos I love the eastern Sierras starting going there in the mid-1960s when I was 10 years old about your next chapter I have a suggestion / challenge for you Big Bear there is a ton of Hollywood history there I challenge you to go to Snow Summit and go skiing if you've never been you can take a lesson I used to live there and was the ski instructor don't tell me you're too old I have a 82 year old friend who still an instructor I can recommend some really talented and interesting people if you're interested have fun stay safe sincerely mark
I like your video's you guys are awesome hi from Dubai
It seems that your grand parents gave you that adventurer / traveler DNA. Wish you health and nice trips and hopefully, when this pandemic disappears, if and when your cross the Atlantic, come and visit us to Greece, where Gods made their home.
Man you should definitely keep making these,
Thanks. This new video format is a lot more work in post production, but I’m also happy with the end result.
Hi Guys i have only two words just beautiful
So, what's next in the pipeline for videos, B&R? Upcoming trip? Day trips?
We spent about 5 weeks with family and then headed into Mexico!
Ooh, another Mexico series! Did you go back to Baja again, or mainland this time? So excited!
Enjoyed the trip.. ty. Would super glue work on the drone leg that broke . Just wondering..don't know the mechanics but was an idea..🤔.. love your videos and the fire side and drinks looked peaceful.. stay safe..
It actually broke off the case and possibly JB Weld would do something but with the torque from the motors and precise angles needed for it to fly right the drone is done.
Thanks for watching!!
You two seem to find it important to follow rules, which I find commendable. Recently a few other couples that I watch have gotten in trouble because other people reported them for 1. flying their drones without a drone pilots license (using the footage on their CZcams channels) and 2. For filming in national parks etc.
so, if you haven’t done so, you will want to check out what you need to do. Maybe check out “Let us be us” video about their drone license. Lots of good info
Thank you.
We’ve had a drone license for years and hate National Parks so we’re all good!!!
The smell of Trona is always a smelly event. Argh! Try some of that UV
Pen stuff. Works fine.
You guys should have bought some fire wood , you guys are amazing
“You won’t get stuck here unless you do something stupid”
Well, I’m pretty sure people have gotten stuck many times!
🍻
Rule number 1
Never under estimate stupidity!
🍻
You two must have some 19th C English heritage by drinking G&T's, it was dirt cheap back then not called Mothers ruin for nothing. One of these days I may get to visit the American Continent but will have to be by ship, death may occur first!
I loved my time as a European tour bus driver despite having to stick to an itinerary we did have some leeway over the route as long as lunch stops were met and the 4 or 5 star hotels were arrived at on time. Winter tours through the Alps were challenging if one had an hatred of lugging 100lbs of chains onto and off of the rear wheels to use some passes to Ski Resorts. At least modern ones are much lighter. The trick was to tie a piece of rope around the twins and drive them on, they were still bloody heavy to lug from the locker and for some reason always tangled.
Happy long gone days.
Did your grandparents own an Open Road camper with a sliding glass door on the rear ... I saw just a corner of the camper in the picture you showed.
Well if you're too Bach Bach back back you go skiing they have a bowling alley in Big Bear
I really enjoyed this series! Do you miss not having a travel dog?
Thanks.
We did, but not anymore!
We have Lucy now!

Thank you so much. We appreciate you watching and commenting for all these years.
If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and we will make a video of the answers for the Outliers.
Nice trip will see what is next. You might look up on CZcams Wonderhussy she is out of Las Vegas and likes hot springs and art work. Well have a good one
Will your travels take you through Florida this year?
Highly unlikely, but crazier things have happened.
Ben this may be more of an outdoor question but when hiking on these trails do you ever enjoy a 22cal plinking
We have a Ruger 10/22 in the safe at home in Alaska. Plinking is a lot of fun, but we use it more for grouse hunting.
czcams.com/video/ZrTp6wUnZ7A/video.html
What state are you in ?
California
nice vid. scenery a gift from GOD
Drone isn't trash maybe gorilla glue?
Unfortunately it’s done for.
It broke off the case and wouldn’t withstand the torque. There might be a chance with JB weld.
@@outliersoverland if it was me I'd definitely try too fix it before I'd trash it.
do you want to sell me the mavic pro ?
Sorry. I trashed it. The gimbal was broken and the arm broke off the case. If I tried to use JB Weld it would have hard to get that arm in the precise position which is crucial for stable flight.
I did save the batteries and filters for an older Mavic pro I have at home.
@@outliersoverland all that is fixable i busted my front arm fixed it 30 bucks from online i learned it all from u tube text time thanks for the reply
I’ve seen the replacement arms and was hoping that’s all it needed but the case of the drone was broken.
I cant believe how bad you scolded her for crashing drone and you do it, you should apologize to her
Seriously? Please!!!!
Go watch that video again....
I did not scold her. If anything she may have scolded herself and I encouraged her get flying again. Kinda of like falling off a bike....
BLM area? Black Lives Matter ? Seriously
Bureau of Land Management
Susan Anderson - 🤣🤣🤣
🙄🤣 Bureau of Land Management. Susan must be a noob.
