  • This is a simple how to video showing how I make my own Mica Sprays in a frugal way. Below I have the "recipe" Ive used here in Sunny Queensland and it works for my climate, you may need to add a few extra drops of Mod Podge depending where you are in the world and what season you are in. I recommend making tiny amounts so you have less chance of them spoiling before you have had a chance to use them. Thanks so much for watching and if this is the kind of content you enjoy consider Subscribing so you know when I add more content.
    ITEMS USED:
-RUBBING ALCOHOL (FOR AUSSIES I USED ISOCOL)
-MICA POWDER ( YOU CAN USE OLD EYE SHADOWS OR BUY A SET OF MICA POWDERS LIKE I DID, CRAFT ONLINE FOR AUSSIES)
-MOD PODGE ( GLOSSY OR MATT BOTH WORK)
-ALCOHOL INK ( MINE ARE POPPY CRAFT FROM CRAFT ONLINE)
    - SMALL SPRAY BOTTLE ( I BOUGHT MINE FROM $2 SHOP)
    RECIEPE
    12ML OF RUBBING ALCOHOL
5-10 DROPS OF MOD PODGE ( WHEN I ADD INK I NEEDED A BIT MORE GLUE)
2-3 LITTLE SCOOPS OF MICA ( MAKE THIS TO WHAT YOU WANT)
(AND LASTLY IF YOU WANT A COLOURED BASE TO YOUR SPRAY)
-ADD 4-6 DROPS OF ALCOHOL INKS
SWIRL TO MIX TO PREVENT BLOCKING THE TIP.

Thank you so much. I was given a home made spray many years ago and it only just resurfaced. It was only the white mica. I am assuming it was made using much the same method in your video. I was using my Wink of Stella and it almost ran out so seeing the spray bottle, I poured some into the Wink of Stella pen and it worked. You might like to give it a try as those WOS pens are expensive but lovely to use. The spray looks more milky so maybe more modge podge was used. I can't wait to get some mica powder to try it out using your ratios. I have just subscribed and will be checking out all your vidoes. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Karren, this video just popped up in my recommended section so thought I would check it out. Nice to find an Aussie crafter doing these type of craft videos. I enjoyed watching so have hit the subscribe button. I have a question regarding the mod podge. I live down Canberra way, hot summers and really cold winters so how much mod podge should I put in my bottles?

Hi Linda welcome to my little channel. Honestly if you don't have Mod Podge you can also substitute with simple PVA Glue too. You only need a few mils honestly.

After seeing your other mica powder product review, I think get powders instead of the already mixed sprays will get give me more bang for my buck. Update: We found out my dad has a real bad ear infection. The ER didn't even look in his ears 🤷‍♀️. We decided this morning to go to a urgent care and they figured out what was going on with him.
