- This is a Tips & Techniques video that you are going to want to save and possibly revisit many many times. I have just purchased the new to me Chameleon Mica Powders and I show you how to make them adhere to your page with one simple trick. This opens up so many other options for you & it will save you so much money!!! (and who doest love that.. am I right!)
RECIPE I USE!
-1/4TH OF A TABLE SPOON OF GUM ARABIC POWDER
-1/4 OF A TEA SPOON OF MICA POWDER (THIS IS THE MINIMUM AMOUNT THAT I USE)
- THEN SIMPLY ADD ABOUT 9-12 DROPS OF DISTILLED WATER AND MIX.
STORE IN A SMALL CONTAINER AND ALLOW THE WATER TO EVAPORATE LEAVING YOU A DRIED SHIMMERY "PAINT" TO USE BY SIMPLY GIVING IT A SPRITZ WITH WATER TO REHYDRATE . THERES NO NEED TO ADD MORE GUM ARABIC WHEN YOU REHYDRATE.

This is awesome! Thanks Karren! I have wanted to buy Mica Powders for a while now, but I am never sure how to "seal" them to stop them from rubbing off. I know you can buy certain sealers, but the Gum Arabic seems the way to go! Cheers!
You are so welcome! The spray with the rubbing alcohol and the mod podge works like a dream. I've been playing with different recipes and the one I've posted is perfect. I think its one tomorrows video now I think of it. but it works perfectly.
I think i will try your alcohol mix receipe. It would to see a comparison of between the two. Is one better than the other?
The alcohol one dried quickly but smells a little more and the "paint one with the gum arabic dries down like watercolour paint and is easy to store. I personally like both options I guess it just depends on the application.
What are color shifting powders?

Im sorry I should have been more specific. LOL. I mean what is the difference in the regular powders and the color shifting powders? I have a lot of the reg powders, but what are the color shifting powders and how are they different from the reg ones? :)
