    Surely the adverse effect is a more restricted gas flow. Most of us simply grind off the shoulders of the piercing pin to solve that particular problem and at the same time smooth the gas flow. In answer to one question, no you don't need to leave the pin in for bulk fill but it is advisable to have some form of spring guide.

    Turns out the model is slightly different and is not a qb78 but very similar. The valve body that I had in a bag was some sort of extra and didn't know at that point the original one was still in the tube. I assumed the part had to be part of the rifle but may have come with the rebuild kit that was with the rifle. They look similar but the original is about 1/16 inch shorter. The spare looks like yours. Got it all put together and works like a dream. Thanks for the response

    I done a similar mod to mine but on the balancer I countersunk it at the front 2mm deep by 8mm. I then cut a groove across the front and made two flats, one down either side matching the grooves on the front. No loss of gas flow for sure there. That felt has to come out as it is ridiculous to put such stuff in a valve body. The pin does need a guide because if it didnt the small pieces that it takes off the body every time its fired will kill the stem seal eventually. Just my opinion :-)

    there is no restriction of gas flow at all. with the balancers,they work perfect and i never have a bad perice now and i have not lost any power at all.so therefor no restriction of gas flow if anything its more improved.

    If you bulk fill, do you leave out the piercing pin alltogether, when going for more power? Also Ive seen people drill holes in the valve face for more flow, are you under PAL, Im just wondering, because with your skills you could sell a ton of fully modded valves. I would probably buy another just for your valve. Keep up your craft, its smiths like you that make this hobby so addicting. Thanks.

    all my guns are under 500 fps so yes non pal, i do mod parts fo pal speeds and make parts to jack up airguns i just can not assemble the gun for you once the parts are moded . ok once you go bulk you still leave the pin. but i can make parts for the valve to bypass the pin so you will get more air space, there are also many other mods that can be done if its power your going after,and i know how to do all the mods but like i said i wont put the gun back together for you once the mods are done.

  • @Jagdtoq
    @Jagdtoq Před 6 lety

    You need to make them like an old fashioned cart wheel so the air can get through and maintain the airflow, I suppose drilling holes all around would suffice.

      you taek the entire gun apart in pecies there is a screw inside that holds it in there but you have to take the entire gun apart to get at it..

      @KevinMillard68 I changed everything and now it is a straight solid leak out of the barrel I think I would need a new valve correct you wouldn't happen to have one laying around would you

    When I put 2/12-gram Co2 Cartridges in my QB-78 Deluxe, the Co2 Gas starts to immediately escape out of the chamber and barrel. I was told that it could be dust on one of the seals on the valve, valve stem seal I believe? Your thoughts please? Thanks!

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Před 10 lety

      if the gun is totally stock then its the stem the factory stem seals are junk , but i have a few rebuilt stems led for sale that are rebuilt with virgin Teflon, you could also use a valve oring and cap oring that's also better quality i have some of those left in stock to.. iam out of stock on the balancers and no way of making anymore

    I have a ? I have a qb78s and i just got it a month ago it was shooting fine now its like the pellet bearly want to come out tje barrel can u please tell me what mit be wrong iv done did tje breech seal

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Před 4 lety +1

      so you changed the breech seal did you use the right one as a replacemnt also did you change the 3 orings on the barrel they get wrecked when you take out the barrel from the breech so they need to be replaced other wise you can lose power for sure if 1 or 2 of them got naile don the way back into the breech , i had a qb 78 .177 cal that did peice the valve end bottle sideways and got stuck took be wack load of shots to empty the gun so i could remove the bottles any how took the gun back they gave me a new one so far no problems iam getting back into airgun repairs an once i can get a new lathe i will be making the pin balancers again as well just not sure when ill be getting a new lathe again its going to cost me alot of money to get setup again for this stuff ..

    A friend had me take this air rifle in pieces to put back together and install new o-rings. I got it back together and seems to function fine. Have not put co2 in it yet. I was wondering what this part is actually used for? Based on other videos I've seen, you just put two c02 cartridges in the lower tube facing away from each other, put cap on, and start using it. I am unable to determine what the part in this video is actually used for. Could someone please help?

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Před 10 lety

      watch the video this time and youll understand what the mod part for the valve is and what it does, not to be rude but if you need to ask such a question you did not pay attention to the video the first time.

      This is 8 years late but for future reference... CO2 cartridges installed as you said ,end to end then you screw until tight which will pierce one of the co2 cartridge. Wait about 10-15 seconds and UNSCREW the cap slowly until it locks in place by pressure itself. It will be VERY obvious . Unscrew for about 1/8 turn and you will feel it pressurise and get ultra tight. Again wait a few seconds, cock and purge the first shot (without pellet). Then you are free to enjoy
