The headset has got decent resolution, pretty good specs, and overall is just a quest 2 with a camera on the front. Good recommendation for new VR users

I've owned this headset for 2 years and you may have handled the headset wrong. The headset was meant to be a competitor for the Quest 2 and not the Vision Pro. The headset is meant to be purchased in the Europe and Asia but can work in the US though sells for more a $100 more due to import fees. This headset mainly benefits from the pancake lenses and high resolution and works really well for PCVR even though it's standalone. It's sadly been discontinued due to lack of sales, it's a good headset but was a complete bug hoard on launch. (been there since I've owned it since launch) overall it's a decent headset but has been crushed by the Quest 3 due to software and more games and exclusives.
Assuming you've charged and powered on the headset correctly, I believe your issue is not having enough light in your play space. The HTC Vive XR Elite does the same thing sometimes, instead of telling you it needs more light the screens stay black. *I'm not certain that's your issue but i can tell your room is on the darker side for some inside out vr headsets.*
