Fantastic game, bought it for 4 dollars 2 years ago when it had nothing but a Demo with only the tutorial boss. Stopped playing after they added the third boss a year ago, Picked it back up today and just finished playing it. It is the kind of game that is made with passion, and the fact that they picked some of my favorite Vtubers to voice act really made it special for me specifically.
I picked it up physically and it's WAY Better than I expected. I like that after you beat the game...you can replay it while keeping your stats and items.

You picked up the physical copy of Little Witch Nobeta for the Nintendo Switch four months ago? Did you get it from Asia/Europe? In the U.S., I believe this game came out 3/07/2023 (March 2023).
Absolutely love it was a little disappointed I went to local GameStop and only had the PS4 version want the switch one but still love it
how long did it take for you to beat the game
I remember when I first saw this game over a year ago and was like: "That's interesting". Definitely might give it a try now that it is out.

Seriously good review. I am struggling with if I should get the Switch version if the framerate really struggles that bad. I do love the design of the Switch box art. Also, thank you for teaching me that children do exist in the world (and are no threat to me)

@@CorinianSalame If you check other youtuber videos between the Switch and PS4 you can see there are a lot of jaggies on the Switch version. For 3D games I'll just stick with the PS4 as it's the safest.

I'll give you a pass for accidentally playing on the easiest difficulty, but man, you gotta work on those dodges lol. I was flinching every time you ate a hit because I play with such a glass cannon build that those 10%-of-your-HP hits are lethal on my end.
And why's there no mention or demonstration of absorption magic, aka parries? Maybe it's just me but I think they're one of the hypest parts of combat. Nailing a frame-perfect counter has the screen erupt with colour, as Nobeta absorbs all potential damage and converts into bonus Mana and HP. Was worth mentioning imo
All in all, I enjoyed the review and my thoughts on the game largely line up with your own. It's got its flaws and quirks, but it's really well polished and sits in a unique niche of action games that hopefully there will be more of.

I got it delivered today, the limited edition for switch. ( from cdjapan since playasia run out of them when I finally decided to order..). However, I had to go for a walk and pick it up from a few houses further since they got the address wrong lmao ( maybe the DHL driver was drunk or smh ).
I'm going to pick up a physical copy at some point.

There seems to be an option for that. This has a demo on steam but I played it a long time ago and don't remember.
You can alter the camera a bit, it perhaps looks claustrophobic when watching, but you barely notice when playing

Who made the music for that game? It's incredible. Also, nobeta would make a great 12 episode anime.
Lack of content. Game is quite short and even with comic story added it is not enough for 12 episode.

If you are not in Japan or Asia then you won't see it anywhere yet.
I seem to be running into conflicting evidence as to what the frame rate is. Your video is 60fps, and indeed it appears that the game is targeting 60fps, even if it isn't stable. That would be good enough for me, honestly. I'm not super picky about stability... (I know some people would rather have a capped and rock solid 30fps, than a wild 45-60 frame rate, but I'm not one of those. I'll take as many unstable frames as the little Switch can push out.)

I hate when an import game from Japan has an English option, but it's only for English text/subtitles instead of actually speaking in English (though it's better than nothing). Drives me nuts hearing a foreign language that I can't understand. Also drives me nuts having to constantly read something. Which is why I stay away from the Yakuza games.

sure there are young girls in the world but they usually aren't sexualized. the devs of this game are constantly selling sexualized merch of the main character who appears to be a small child. I can see why people would be unnerved by this.

The gamplay looksslow and generic. The platforming looks from the 360 era. I think people are only interested in this because of the r3ciewer cr3dibility and their is a cute little chic in here because this game doesn't look all that great. Nicer automata looks like a better buy. Can't be serious with this game. 10 to 20 dollars at best.
