Tactical Training Techniques: The Easy Way To Load Pistol Magazines with Alien Gear Holsters

Loading pistol magazines by hand is normally difficult due to the spring tension. Loading a double-stack magazine or compact single-stack magazine isn't incredibly easy, especially if you don't have considerable hand strength. If you're loading magazines repeatedly, it gets tiresome after a few repetitions.
If you're spending all day at the range, you're looking at hand cramps by mid morning.
So here's a smarter method, shown to us by Jason Beighley of Skeleton Key Tactical.
You grasp the magazine with just the fingers of the weak side hand, leaving the thumb free. Insert the first round or two, which usually are easy to insert.
Take the next round you're going to insert in your thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand, and put the base of the cartridge across the case of the top round in the magazine. Push down on your strong side thumb with your weak hand thumb, depressing the top round with assistance.
As the top round goes below the feed lips, rotate the case of the cartridge you're pushing the top round down with in place and seat fully into the magazine.
This method takes a little time to develop rhythm with, but once you've got it you'll notice that it saves you a lot of pain in the long run. You can get pretty quick with it too.

This looks like a great way to do it. I have an ETS loader for all my double stack pistol mags now, loads 19 rounds super fast and easy.

This is why I use an UpLula mag loader. WAY faster and easier. You still bust your thumb with this manual technique when the mag is almost full.
Yeah but that’s a technique you can use anywhere that’s pretty valuable it say broken wrist or you just can’t get to your equipment
