Agree completely about why this model did not have more reviews and commentaries. I bought this exact model from a vendor in Spain offering an incredible price for it. The Combi bracelet is the cherry over the cake. Great G-Shock.
I just recently purchased a G-Shock 5610 with a negative display here in the UK for £103. I had been thinking of getting one for a while but held back from getting one. Mine came up in a watch sale reducing the price by £30 approx so I pulled the trigger and got it. I really love the watch and the features being tough solar and multiband 6 with 220M water resistance. Definately a keeper for me. I really like the watch you have reviewed, it's awesome.
I was looking on the Casio website Germany for a watch with specific features (tough solar & phone finder) and saw the B5000. There’s many kinds of titanium and I didn’t want to splurge on that now so this series caught my eye. Shipping was fast. I did get the negative display model in adrenaline red and for me it’s perfect reading the time. People in the Netherlands also said I should order a bull bar from the US and I’ll see about replacing the resin band. The form factor and capabilities make it tremendous.
I liked the idea of this watch, but did not like the negative displays on the US models. Very glad you pointed out this UK model. It did not show up in the searches because they messed up the title (very stealth). I was going to get the -1JF version that I had found but decided the -1ER version would give me English manuals. I also have a GW-S5600-1JF, which I bought over the GW-M5610-1 to get the more subdued graphics, titanium case back and the carbon fiber strap.
Some people want $400+ for this watch today. You can get an all metal one for that price, Only a fool would pay that much for it. Yet i know plenty that would. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.
Had to get it.. The gold tint on the positive display, the gold accent on the dial, the combi bracelet (over $100 fot that brace alone.. :O) - Awesome piece this one!
There is also the Gorillaz version (GW-B5600GZ-1) in the Cyan/Magenta colors (which is a bit to colorful for me) that also have the positive display and very nice.
I bought the red display version, but that was a mistake. The display contrast/readability was simply not up to snuff under less favourable conditions. I sold that one, and bought this one instead. No regrets.
Some really interesting and fair points made in this video. Thank you. What a great timepiece, it is indeed something special...
Thank you!
It seems that the negative display square gshocks are stylized as stealth models; meaning they are stripped of most of the printed feature set on their faces, and the lettering on the case front is monochrome. The aesthetic is downlow, or less is more.
Plot twist: The GMW-B5000 is just the "dress" version of the "proper" GW-B5600 featured here. 🐸☕
Just ordered one for me 👍 my first g shock
Absolutely love this model in fact it's my favourite in my collection.
To me it's the holy grail of all G's.
Bought the blue version and threw on a full black mod kit.. beautiful!! I then couldn't help myself picked up the same model but with the combi bracelet. Ended up with gold version and couldn't be happier. To be frank I was blown away by it's looks and the freakish weight of the thing.. If your after a watch that you wear and forget it's there then this of for you! The band combi bracelet moulds into your wrist and is so, so comfortable you'd forget it was there just based on that fact, but it also weighs nothing!
Just lovin'it. Can't take it off.. first watch ever that I actually sleep with on..
Just get one. You won't look back.
The titanium G-Shocks also come with a sapphire crystal. But yeah, they are more of a collector's item.
I would say that the all metal gshock is the luxurious "alternative" to this lighter and appropriately priced standard gshock
I got this watch but with blue reflect and i put on combi bracelet in stead of original plastic band
A really comfortable, useful, beautiful, interesting, practical and versatile watch. After 10 months of using my black BC, it has been the culprit for which I stopped rotating my other watches. really comfortable
Can't agree with you more man. These squares are just so comfortable and practical
Cool review & just bought some of these but commenting because every watch channel seems to keep mentioning weight as a factor or problem. I’ve owned loads (watches in general not G-shocks) inc some very heavy & some very light and hand on heart I’ve never ever been aware of the weight of a watch on my wrist. Just can’t fathom all these 1000s of comments - maybe I’m missing some nerves on my arm muscles or something!
I have a 210mm (8.27") wrist.
Do you know how long the watch + bracelet is ?
Can I buy extra spare links for the bracelet somewhere ?
I’m the first to like the video. Great job as always sir and you will be 20K subscribers soon. I have been following your great work since day one! All the best my friend. Cheers.
Long time no hear! Good to see you again :)
Nice review 😃
The only thing I hate this watch is its golden ring layout.
I see people saying the legibility of the screen is bad. but you see top left of the watch screen "ps" stands for power saving mode if you turn it of it makes the text brighter just thought this might help someone!
That doesn't make any sense. Why would Casio design it so that the readability gets worse with power saving. PS is just an on/off "screensaver".
It doesn't change the brightness on mine, ps is just a night time screen saver mode when not in use, I find legibility on my blue face one pretty poor to be honest 😳 the blue mirror effect distracts from the digits
Not at all.
1BER for 240 EUR or 1ER for 150 EUR?
I have this exact model, and love it. Still have some readability issues coming from wearing analogue watches for decades (digital display numbers can look similar under some circumstances), but it's still great. Will probably get a black titanium bezel from Gshock Customworks.
Can you change the date display to EU style on this one? (DD,MM) The 5610 only comes standard with the US style date display.
Yes
Yes, you can change through the gshock app
Yes and not only through the app.
@@samsan3095 also without the app
The yellow is a deal breaker for me and I’m not so sure about the negative display one, i need to be able to read the time easily.
It's not as yellow in person as it looks on camera.
And the yellow/gold is the deal MAKER for me 😁
I have this exact model. I love it except the strap, im a woman, and my wrist is too small, i wish i can change it to normal strap
Yeah I hate that strap. I like to sleep with my watches so Im also wondering if I can change the strap. Btw where did you buy it?
do you want to sell that bracelet? i'm ready to buy! :)
@@HarryUnchained this is very late, but do you still want one? I have the exact one as the watch from this video. I never wore it, because as soon as I bought the watch I swapped it for a metal bracelet.
Plus the metal one is a scratch magnet 😣
Nice watch but a bit to expensive in my opinion
They will last a lifetime
To me, titanium is pointless. I love the heft of a good solid watch and paying that much for a watch to be “feather light” is ridiculous. I will pay for complications or anything horologically significant, but not so it’s lighter on wrist!
But titanium is also 5x harder(more scratch resistant) AND why carry around extra weight when you don't have to? But I get your point.
Given that these GW-B5600s are supposed to be "beater" watches (albeit high-quality ones), the ability to be unobstructive to your activities (e.g. construction worker, paramedic, fisherman, athlete etc etc) through being lightweight is generally an attractive characteristic _for that particular category of watch._ Perhaps a dive watch is more up your alley?
i almost bought that one, then i saw the GW-B5600BC-1B... way too sleek and boring looking, right for me. HAHA
Annoying music
Annoying comment.
Don't use the Bluetooth, the watch will never sync with the radio signal any ore if you do, only with the crappy inaccurate mobile provider clocks. You'll have to UNpair the watch using an unpublished button operation you can find on the internet somewhere to get the radio syncing back.
Totally false.
You are wrong and any effort on your part to check would have told you that with a quick google search, the app does not sync the time to your phone time / phone tower time.
The app sync's with the online NTP servers which are in turn sync'd to the atomic clocks.
The Bluetooth is great, don't have to worry about if the watch will get a radio signal, its just as accurate, works everywhere in the world and don't have to go put the watch on a window and prey at night.
Great comment. And because a lot of people don't know, the radio time signal reception doesn't work in Africa, Australia, India & South America. You would need a GPS in those countries.
@@maverickwatchreviews can you please tell me the model number which has all of these features except the Bluetooth because I don't want Bluetooth but I need the solar & atomic time keeping & water resistant I was searching a lot but didn't get it & for multi band 6 is it necessary to have Bluetooth
@@maverickwatchreviews not false. Once paired, and with the phone out of BT range, the watch fails to sync the time, and radio sync does NOT come back on again, I've tested this over several days. The only way to get radio sync back is by UNpairing the watch again, and HOW to do this isn't documented anywhere in the manual. Additionally the app is a battery drainer - and aside for getting a battery level reading and setting text reminders, not needed for anything.
Springbar = weak link. Lots of springbars = invitation to jump of the wrist.
I disagree and have had zero issues but ya never know :)
@@maverickwatchreviews I have the GW-M5610BC on the combi and that thing is sweet. zero issues with it
Never men. I can say it with the use included tough exercise, beach, swimming, hot to 50ºC or -5ºC, sand, Sweat, everything, zero issues. Really tough combi bracelet.
You kind of want a weak link in the bracelet for safety reasons. If your watch gets caught up in machinery or similar, you want the bracelet to give way before it tears your arm off at the wrist or shoulder or pulls you in with it. Having said that, I saw a video of a guy trying to twist and snap the new combi bracelet by hand and couldn’t.
I’m looking to buy one of these, but I’m not having much luck finding one. Can anyone help?
