Oh, that red glow back-lighting is really cool! Wasn't expecting that, and I'm sure it would surprise friends too when they suddenly see that red glowing in the dark.
I work for a retailer that sells Casio. Walked in yesterday and passed the G Shock case and saw this sitting there. Needless to say, 15 minutes later it was mine lol. This watch is so cool and fits my skinny wrist perfectly. The app is easy to use and allows you to use the “reminder” feature, which I’ll use a lot. The only thing I wish it did that it doesn’t is alert you to phone calls and scroll who’s calling. Otherwise it’s a near perfect daily beater.
What's interesting is that even when not backlit, the colored display still appears to be "on," whereas with a normal negative display it's just all black unless the numbers aren't obscured by the angle you're holding it at. Appearance-wise, that "featureless" (basic module) camo GM5600B-3 for similar money remains more tempting for me because in the end, all I really do is look at the time with any of them. Love having all these choices!
Love the red negative displays, especially the silvery reflective digits. Plus, red + black = cool! Interesting that the coloured negative displays light up the background, while the black negative displays light up the digits. And the coloured negatives are a bit easier to read for me. Or they just look cooler and I'm making excuses for them, idk! Thanks for this, Rob. Well, my wallet is not thanking you.
I'm not tired of them. I only have one, but would like to get more. I'm so impressed with the lightweight durability, not too large, and they are just iconic.
I ordered my nephew a different gshock watch and they sent me this one. He is entering the navy next summer. Would this be a good watch for him to have there? I wasn’t sure if the red would go over well. Or the Bluetooth function. Debating on sending it back. Thanks!
@@delmartin1885 I use mine all the time and im in Police Academy. The Bluetooth doesn’t do much except to sync up with your phone to get the same time. I say keep. The red is pretty subtle too.
Just got it few days back. Really enjoy having it on my wrist. And it is comfortable enough to use. I went to a local watch shop to claim my Tissot watch warranty and saw this beauty. I couldn't move on thinking about this G and after few weeks, I bought it! You won't regret having this watch.
@Dario Jurišić for the colored display. Id go for the red. But also did buy the violet Joker variant for variety. If legibility if of great concern. Id suggest you to go for the gold one.
My Favorite in the series is the GWB5600HR-1 w/ Negative display. Very cool and elegant looking square watch with a red accent at the bottom of the watch even in the resin band/bracelet. The bluetooth function makes the watch easier to manage. But I don't like the incorporation of red display in that watch, it somehow hurts my eyes. Great review and comparison! Thumbs up!
I think there is a Gshock or more than one Gshock for everyone. I have a few myself. I love the features you get. I have a reversed LCD with yellow text. I have seen some with Bluetooth for around 60 dollars on eBay, not the squares they are round. Still a good value.
All my multi bands just do that automatically (time adjusting as well as dst adjusting). I have 9 of them. Just the thought of adjusting the time on all my watches would make me go crazy 😅
Sorry, Rob I'm a noob here - could you point out which G-shock model it is that you showed on-screen at about 2:00? It has "Project Team Tough" on the watch face.
I wonder if the app gets its time from an atomic time source or if it just uses the phone's time. I notice that Verizon's time averages about a half second slow, sometimes about a second. It would be nice to also see the app in action. I've never worn a digital but that red dial might get me to try. Thanks for all the work in this nice review.

Such a great look and I would have already ordered one BUT no bracelet only the standard watchband. Kills the deal for me. Have a full Metall g-shock an a GW B5600 with the black/red bracelet and love both of them. Don't like the normal casio bands anymore.
Yup, the standard *band is my least fave part on mine. It’s cool that it’s matte black and functions well enough but feels very by the books. I’d have preferred a different material ‘cos there’s already enough resin on this watch. I understand from the manual Casio uses anti-odor & antibacterial type bands. I’m fond of my stainless steel expansion bands I wear on my Timex; very durable and easy to put on. I might get it replaced with rubber or titanium.
Got this for about $112.50 before taxes. Brand new! I'm definitely modding this just havent made the final decisions. Maybe red resin straps+red bulbar. Add in a red bezel and have an almost all red watch similar to the DW5635C-4 from last year, except with all the added features! Maybe use the red/black composite strap from the GW-B5600HR-1. Though your idea of the blue bezel sounds super interesting!
I saw this yesterday at a Macy’s in person. While the red screen is cool and all I wish they did something more with the rest of the watch. Specifically red lettering on the bezel and red inner band. The GW-B5600BL has the right idea with the purple screen and neon lettering and inner band. Just my two cents.
the gwvb5600 adj button seems to srick out more in this vid, so it'll be easier to hit than the dw5600e? Also, how does the gwb's buttons compare to the gm5600's? hard to tell if the gm's were bigger?

The only thing that stopped me from buying this watch is that it has no battery level indicator on the screen. I mean who want to look everytime on the phone app to watch for the battery level. Yes multiband. The Bluetooth updates the time automatically behind the scene, it isn’t connected all of the time. Traveling is great, it takes care of the changes too.

Can please tell me -if you know- if i can use another glass from another similar (with screwback!!!) new model to fit it to my 5600C case? Or, did the mechanism (only) of my DW-5600C, surely fit to another body of a new watch (with screwback!!!) to buy it and use only the body of it? Do you own any other line of Gshocks ? A part of me really wants to like the squares . I bought the entry level dw5600 . Had it for a few months and didn't like it . To me it seemed to plain and cheap looking . I ended up purchasing a GW6900 . Tough solar and Multi band 6 . I find the gw6900 nicer personally . I like the more stealth looking style I think
I bought this red display watch on impulse. But I regret it. The lack of contrast/readability gets too annoying after a while. I say: go for standard black against white.
I recently bought this watch because of your awesome video. But when I got the watch I notice if I tilt the watch and look at the face from the top and right side I can’t read it. It fades away. The watch reading is clear if I look at it from the bottom and left. Is this the same for you?
