    Great review! Now that the ZV E-10 dropped today, this seems like the perfect wide angle zoom to pair with it. Yeah camera has active steadyshot but that crop!

    I'm about to sell my Sigma 16mm f/1.4 and my Samyang 12mm f2 (manual) for this lens, because of the stabilization and the coverage of all the focal lengths (plus extended to 10 and 18, which is cool) in one lens. Just feels like a better, more versatile wide angle option to me, especially since I am a filmmaker, I don't even really shoot still photography that much, and so........ I'm swapping to get this. I know everyone thinks the Sigma is the greatest lens in the history of the world, but of all the lenses I have been using, I actually like that lens the least. Other than talking head stuff at home, I find it annoying to use because it is so sensitive to movement. It's definitely super sharp, but for me, it's almost too sharp. X-ray machine sharp. lol. And for wide angle stuff, I don't really want that much blur. Why go wide if you are blurring everything out? Anyway......... Great review. You made me feel better about my decision.

      Yeah you can't go wrong with this Lens, I've heard some people say they got a bad copy of this Lens but I can say that mine has always worked great and has good image quality overall. I will say that I plan on getting the Tamron 11-20 F2.8 and seeing if I like it more even though it doesn't have OSS but the 2.8 would be nice for night time stuff because the F4 of this Lens is it's only weakness(but you can work around it) Thanks for watching! I'm glad You enjoyed the video!

    Thank you so much for this review. 🙏🏼One question: considering buying the ZV-10 for filming family trips etc, some videos for my psychologist HomePage and taking portraits (I love portraits) - would the 10-18mm plus the 50mm f/1.8 OSS be a good choice of lenses, or should I make other choices? I am not into tech stuff, but love taking pictures. At the moment I own a Olympus PEN E-PL with a 45 mm lense.

    • @HeartbeatsPhotography
      @HeartbeatsPhotography  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes the 10-18 is worth getting, I would appreciate if you use the link in description haha. But for Portraits I would get the Sigma 56mm f1.4 I own both the Sigma 56 and the Sony 50. I plan on doing videos eventually when I get time, both are good lenses but in my opinion the Sigma 56mm f1.4 is by far the best lens for Portraits

      Honestly at F.4 it's really not bad as long as you aren't in pitch dark. But in normal street light it's good. Sometimes it might be a little grainy but not bad. I have done plenty of Vlogs at night with it

  • @ManmohanMohanty

    Nice video!! I have a question, could you pls suggest me a lens for my inflight reviews videos that I do? The things that I particularly shoot are seats, amenities, food, cabin, overall ambience and loo review, pretty much as other inflight reviewers. I’m struggling to decide on a lens which works out well and can be used for close objects videos with focus and not blurring. Also, the light is a primary aspect as night flights have generally low light in the cabin and day flights hv plenty of light pouring through the windows.. just wanted to know which lens are recommended for these kind of videos. Some people suggested Song 10-18mm wide angle, not sure if this can focus on close objects enough and produce sharp videos; and some suggested for Sony 50mm macro, again not sure if this is ok for general cabin video and if it can handle low light. FYI, I use Sony a6400. Thanks!

    • @HeartbeatsPhotography
      @HeartbeatsPhotography  Před 3 lety +1

      Well I will say there is no such thing as a perfect lens so you will always have some compromise but the minimum focus Distance on this lens is around 9 or 10 inches which is pretty close up especially if you have it on 18mm. I have not used it yet but Tamron released a similar lens this year. It's 11-20 F2.8 so it will be better in low light. The only downside is it doesn't have image stabilization so it might not be as good for video because the a6500 does not have image stabilization either. Honestly if you are just looking to use 1 lens and not have to switch between multiple lenses than the 10-18 is probably the best option for you

  • @DanielReichel1979

      Those shots were on the a6500 with the 10-18, but now I own the a6600. It still looks great on the a6600

      @@HeartbeatsPhotography so the F4 won’t be an issue in low light? I’d be using 3 shot bracketing. I’m hesitant on this lens vs the tamron 11-20 f2.8

    Nice review dude, subscribed!
    How is the oss on this lens? I hear mixed reviews
    I have the a6600 which has ibs (barley) but would it be much better with an oss lens?
    I am heavily debating getting the a7s III with the 16-35, but i know i dont NEED such an extravagant set up especially for my type of channel... But damn i WANT it!
    Im currently using the sigma 16 but i really want to be able to walk and talk with the camera and not have to keep it on a tripod all the time...

    • @HeartbeatsPhotography
      @HeartbeatsPhotography  Před 3 lety +1

      Well yes the oss does make a difference and the fact that it's so wide because the shake is less noticeable, but it's still doesn't look like a gimbal. Yeah I would love to have the a7siii but until I start making some money with my current set up I just can't justify the purchase haha. Thanks for watching and for the subscribe!

    • @BoostedMPLS
      @BoostedMPLS Před 3 lety +2

      I have a 6400 and with the 18-105 there is slightly less micro jitters but a gimbal always stays in my bag for my videos haha.
      I'm excited because I picked this lens up for $325 because it had a ding on it but still fully functional. This will be my run and gun go to esp for my car content in tight spots.

      @@PrincessCutLawnCare I have the sigma 16mm right and now and just picked up the 10-18 for $350 so I can report back when I play with it. I have to have the sigma on a tripod for talking head videos or on my gimbal.

    Hi, I've seen a number of reports that suggest some copies of this lens are 'de-centred', and not always sharp across the frame? Have you experienced this or even heard such reports? I appreciate your in-depth review after 5 years use - if anyone should know whether this lens is worth having, it's someone like you.
