    It looks great.!!!!...and the idea that you can change it again when farmhouse industrial look is over with is a plus...personally I would have painted the vanity white and the pink corian top painted dark gray with black hardware and put a runner rug down with that same bold tile look pattern on it. ( It's just another way to decorate) and easier to change later when you move . But still a great video , looks good!!!

      @@Thediyplaybook The real joy is trying to find the color. Apparently in Central Florida anyway, I do like the charcoal gray. I think everybody in Central Florida wants charcoal gray. So it is a question of looking around. I don't have two very large bathrooms but I do like the one color. I will find it eventually. Home Depot is always a zoo. I love them to death I love the people there but good Lord sometimes The challenge is getting what you need. I may have to buy them separately. To get the matte finish and a gallon of paint. I truly only needed a quart for the one bathroom it is not very large at all. But that's almost unavailable. So I will get it worked out. Thanks for giving me some encouragement. I always appreciate what I can get these days. Take care of yourself. We need you.

    Has anyone noticed a minute or two after the paint goes down, some (teensy tiny) spots don't take? I did use a steam cleaner on the grout a couple weeks ago, then yesterday I sprayed tile and grout with crud cutter, then wiped up with a micro fiber rag. After that I steam mopped in hopes to get all the crud cutter up. Now wondering if I didn't get it all up!? :( It is only a few spots, wish I could upload a photo.

      You can stick to your normal cleaning routine, but I would avoid anything too abrasive. I use my Dyson vacuum on my floors to pick up any dust and debris and then I mop them every other week when I clean the bathrooms. For the most part, you should be able to follow your normal cleaning schedule, even with painted floors. I would definitely give this a try! Ok ma'am. One more question and I will leave you alone. At Home Depot it is about $49 for 1 gallon of the charcoal gray. And it is about $30 or so for the topcoat and Matte..Does that sound about right? Since I only need a quart of each this is really starting to ramp up. I was just curious on the sizing that you got what works best for you. Thanks

    • @Thediyplaybook
      @Thediyplaybook  Před 3 lety +2

      You'll need way less than you think. I had a gallon of the charcoal, but easily could have just used a quart. So unless your space is really really big, a quart of each color you want to do (plus, the top coat) is all you'll need. I recommend the kit as it comes with what you need.

I'd like to paint my bathroom floor. Is there anything I should keep in mind? How long do I have to wait before installing the new toilet? I am not going to use stencil. How long a wait do I have?

    • @Thediyplaybook
      @Thediyplaybook  Před 3 lety

      Hi Barry,
      I think this would definitely work for your bathroom. I would remove the toilet, clean the floor really well, and then get started painting. You have to wait 6 hours to apply the second coat, so I would start early in the morning. Then do your second coat, and then a couple of hours later do your top coat. You would be able to put the new toilet in the next day, but I wouldn't put anything else on the new floor for at least a few days just so it really has time to cure!
      I've done this 3 times, so I recommend reading these blog posts that are full of more tips.

    I recently did this. I'm a little concerned with how thin the step 2 coat was going on the floor. I needed to really roll it to apply it evenly. Does this jive with your experience?

    • @Thediyplaybook
      @Thediyplaybook  Před 3 lety

      Step 2 as in the top coat? If so, yes..it's definitely runny. But it will still protect it just fine. It's not the same consistency as paint...definitely thinner. Just get it on there as best you can. You can always do more coats if of the top coat if you want more protection.
