Bought ammo for several years prior to retiring at the end of 2019. I figured I wouldn't have a lot of discretionary income to be buying ammo later. Glad I did. Thanks Matt.

Buy ammo when you see it, and when you have the money to buy it!

Well Matt, I'm 70 years young and I have what I need regarding firearms and there is nothing that I own that would make anyone say, "WOW", LOL!
Being retired I occasionally buy a box or two of ammo. Would I like perhaps like to buy a new firearm, sure. But, in these times there are more important needs that must be met.
On the practical side ammo is more important than a safe full of guns and very little ammo!
    Best to ya',,,,!

Understand your points, Walter. Prices are going up on nearly everything. I sold a truck in the 1970s because I couldn't afford how much gasoline it was going through.

Buy systems, guns that all use the same magazines and calibers like a Glock. Or buy multiple versions of the same gun such as PPQ and Q5 that use the same mags…and ammo.

Wise words. Ammo. I would caution that if you have an existing caliber of weapon that ammo is scarce. Maybe find a gun that is manageable that seems to be in stock. Also, watch those pesky red flag laws. Current politicians aren’t friendly when it comes to self defense.

I see a lot of used vintage firearms that I'd love to own, but so far haven't done it. Right now, I'd be happy to find some decent 9mm JHP!

Thank you for the video. 100% agree with you on purchasing ammo instead of new guns. Currently, I buy 'economical' factory ammo at websites such as ammoseek, but was wondering if I should buy reloading supplies and equipment and learn how to make ammo instead.

some times even getting the necessary things to make ammo can be hard. money saving if you make enough ammo. you need to find primers, brass casings and powder, along with bullets.

Very good. Simplify as I age. I have definitely downsized and simplified to several 9mm pistols, several EVIL LOOKING Modern Sporting Rifles. One well aged, utterly reliable Remington pump and my forever S&W Model 10 in 38SPL.
    That's my downsized ...mmmm
And lots and lots of ammo 😎😎
