  • In this video, I cover the legendary career of football icon and top goal scorer in the history of football, Cristiano Ronaldo. The legendary number 7 won 5 UCL titles in his career, taking home 5 Ballon D'Or trophies and 4 Golden Boots. This video will summarize and analyze how its all gone wrong for Ronaldo. How a man who was once the most expensive signing in history is now without a club and perhaps played his final World Cup matches. How did Cristiano Ronaldo end up in this position? Where fans are seemingly abandoning ship and teams are not putting their best foot forward to acquire the Portuguese legend.

This is my fourth video ever as a CZcamsr. It's also my fourth ever time I've ever edited or done any kind of voice track on a video, I'm usually a very reserved and private person but football has been the most significant thing in my life since I can remember and has stayed that way since then.
As many of you know, the love never dies.
Please let me know what I can improve on and what topics you wish to see me cover. This is my first video, im sure there is a lot I can improve on.
Thank you again and I hope this is the beginning of an amazing journey on CZcams.

coming from a messi fan, ronaldo is a beast, his numbers speak for him, and his rivalry with messi was one of the best things to happen in football. i didn't watch maradona, pele, cruyff, ... at their primes, but i had the pleasure of seeing 2 football giants duking it out on the pitch for more than a decade. yes i do hold the opinion that messi is the goat, but everyone who disrespects ronaldo is not a true football fan

Unfortunately I don't think CR7 can bounce back. His source of motivation was to be number #1. But ever since Messi got his 6th golden ball, then copa america, then 7th golden ball, Ronaldo understood that he doesn't have the time to catch up. If we add the fact that he is older and that his physical capabilities and mental sharpness are declining, as well as the tragic incident with his unborn child, it's easy to see that we won't see him produce greatness again. We can only say goodbye and thank you to a legend for the wonderful moments.

Besides, as many here already pointed out, we got the greatest rivalry in ALL of sports for almost 2 decades. Messi and Ronaldo constantly pushed each other. One was superhuman (Ronaldo), the other extraterrestrial (Messi). We witnessed something extraordinary, and we might not see such a rivalry again in our lifetime.
People now try to artificially manufacture a "Haaland - Mbappé" rivalry, but it's just not the same and never will be. Neither of those 2 guys have the same potential as Messi and Ronaldo had, and they don't even play in the same league anyway (unless they meet in Champions League).
We shouldn't take the last 2 decades for granted. What Leo and Cristiano gave us was special. Respect them both, regardless of who you consider the GOAT (that also extends to Pelé and Maradona fans, who seemingly love to s*it on them both, even though Pelé and Maradona praised them so much).

No one would have questioned Ronaldo regarding his legacy if he did not added fuel to the fire regarding Messi vs Ronaldo debate. When Xavi gave him opinion regarding Messi, Ronaldo lashed out about retirement in dignity. He time and again compared himself, or suggested that he is the best player and threw shade at Messi multiple times. Moreover, his interview with piers Morgan did not help either - it just showed how out of touch he is or his own hypocrisy esp. after joining a saudi club ( nothing wrong with that, but doing it after trolling Xavi and specifically saying no to it a month ago deserves some airtime) There would have been European clubs interested in him, if he did not do those things. Ronaldo along with his fans gave media the story to run with! When Messi lost multiple finals, he got reckt in media, much worse than Ronaldo. However, he did not added fuel to the fire but instead proved them wrong - which Ronaldo just did not do. No matter who you consider the best player but if a player thinks he is bigger than a club or a game itself, will not have a soft landing at all.

Instead of criticizing cr7, why don't you just shut up & be more grateful for your man, messi for his great achievements. You know, cr7 is not perfect, but I think he is a better person than messi. Why? cr7 is a philanthropist & he is more generous than messi. Yeah, for a glance cr7 looks arrogant but he is not!! he is only being arrogant to people who mock & disrespect him, you know people who deserve those kinds of treatment. One last thing, CR7 is Unlucky G.O.A.T!! Messi's fans should be grateful because your G.O.A.T is such a Lucky footballer!! Btw, sorry for my bad english.

As a Ronaldo fan from the Lisbon days it is heartbreaking to watch his decline. He would alway come out of any situation on top and to watch him struggle like this is heartbreaking. If it was any other athlete going through this it wouldn’t be so bad. But for someone who works so hard to keep himself physically and mentally fit to compete at the highest level it is sad to watch him struggle. For someone who always thinks positive and does the right thing in life and on the pitch, it’s just hard to watch him not be the player he once was. Maybe moving to this Arab league will give him the confidence he needs and a well deserved break from the spotlight.

Those records you've also mentioned will very likely be broken by the time they both retire given the present trajectory of their careers.
Hence, winning the WC while being Argentina's protagonist and the tournaments best player edges him, on all objective metrics, above Ronaldo. As a fan of Diego Maradona, I didn't want to see him retire, but it was painfully clear that his best days were over after he was suspended in the 1994 World Cup for doping, and that could have been his 2nd World Cup win... People remember Maradona as the Argentina playmaker & captain and the superstar of Napoli (his best years)... but don't like to see the version of him that bailed on Napoli & later ended his career (He still showed talent, but not as before)... and they completely his years of struggle w/ substance abuse afterwards.
Elvis was the "king of rock n' roll" and an icon in music, but his last years were marred by weight gain and terrible performances from excessive drinking and drug abuse, which resulted in his death by age 42. No one wants to see that period of his career... They wanted that suave, good-looking movie star that could sing, shake his hips and drive women wild. And that expectation was not met in Elvis' last years.
What we are witnessing at present is Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of his career... and he is not what he once was. That's just the reality... Not taking away his past glories and what he did for football, but the football fans don't want to see a 37 year-old Ronaldo miss goal-scoring opportunities or relegated to playing for a Saudi club... Me personally, I didn't get the hype... I remember Cristiano Ronaldo coming into World Cup 2010 and 2014 w/ so much hype, and the Portugal team was a disaster both times. In 2018 they weren't great either... eliminated in the 2nd round... Nobody wants to see a top-tier football player w/ so much name recognition fall on his face in a major football competition.
I even thought that the 2022 Portugal team had a shot at winning the World Cup, but it was not to be... Ronaldo at 37 was ineffective... Even more so than what I'd seen before. He looks the same, but the Bruno Fernandes goal that he missed by a header summed up his form in 2022.
Which brings us to the fans of football... It isn't hate that Cristiano Ronaldo is getting... People have expectations when they root for a team or star, and when that expectation falls short, the reaction of fans is disappointment... then anger... and the anger is what is directed at the main attraction. It's unfair and cruel... But nobody wanted to see a 'fat' Elvis on stage unable to sing his own lyrics, because the past expectation is just so huge that the letdown is also a big one to swallow for spectators who want a big show w/ a grand display of talent, but end up w/ a visible calamity.
The same principle applies now... Nobody wants to see Ronaldo miss a bicycle kick or headers that he could have converted into goals in his prime... but that's what we are getting now. And it is up to the performer himself to close the curtains before they see something like Muhammed Ali being knocked on his a-- when people expected him to be the champion...

"Midget" "Alfa" you talked like a true PenaldoSexual. The more I see Penaldo fans talk the more I am convinced that you guys are sexually atracted to him.. And by the way in the 9 years he was in Spain he only won 2 La ligas, 2 supercopas and 2 Copa del rey. Barça won 6 la ligas, 5 copa del reys and 7 supercopas. Ronaldo lost far more games than he won and the only time they played in the Champions they lost in 2011. And you can´t be considered the Goat of a sport if you didn´t win the most important title...
