I've been a hardcore Barca fan since 2005. Watched many videos describing the history and up and downs along the road. You've come the closest to explaining it the right way.
Barca's downfall actually began in 2010 when Laporta wasn't the president and Rosell was elected(formerly Vice President under Laporta himself). Rosell and Fartomeu completely destroyed Barca in every conceivable way, especially Fartomeu. It took time to translate the downfall on the pitch that's all. The rise is gonna be gradual, but we coming back. Laporta+Pep started the ultimate glory days and Laporta+Xavi will bring them back.

I don't agree with Neymar transfer being responsible for the downfall. The step down of Pep and the subsequent early retirement of his sucessor Tito (R.I.P.) coinciding with the retirement of Puyol left a big void in the leadership of the team and appointment of Tata Martino as coach was the downfall.
You can't be saying that when Barca won the treble 2 years after. It was one of the first sings of a downfall, but it was still posible to recover. The election of Bartomeu was the sole reason of Barca's downfall, to be more specific his lack of a business knoledge, the football business (he was a basketball player in his youth). His favouring of spending, ignoring the debt was a key factor to the Barcelona's doom and the leaving of Neymar accelerated this way of action. The lack of income at the pandemic only exposed the poor financial management.
So to sum it up... Bartomeu is a fraud 😆and with or without Neymar's sale Barca would go down and pandemic only made it faster.
A poor selection of a coach is too little significant to call it the reason of a downfall.
So we beat Real Madrid and now we are on a rise again? Just wanna win the league man
