Let’s keep it simple why do we need any other book besides the Bible? Do we not have the God to ask for help to understand? Does not the Holy Spirit give us understanding? We need to be patient in waiting for God to answer us. Not jumping the gun and relying on someone else’s book or interpretation on the word.

SHOULD I BELIVE E.G. WHITE OR THE BIBLE?
    1. Was the plan of salvation made before or after the fall?
E.G. White says AFTER the fall (Great Controversy, p.347)
The Bible says BEFORE (Ephesians 1:4:; 1 peter 1:18)
Should I believe EGW or the Bible?
    2. Was Adam deceived by Satan?
    E.G. White says YES (Evangelism, p. 589)
The Bible says NOPE (1 Timothy 2:14)
Should I believe EGW or the Bible?
    3. Did pre-flood human beings mate with animals to produce amalgamated created creatures?
E.G. White says YES (Spiritual Gifts Vol. 3,p 64 )
The Bible says NOPE (Genesis 1:24-25- Nowhere in the Bible is it indicated there was amalgamation of human beings and animals before the flood)
Should I believe EGW or the Bible?
    4. Was the tower of Babel built before or after the flood?
E.G. White says BEFORE (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 119)
The Bible says AFTER (Genesis 11:4)
Should I believe EGW or the Bible?
    5. Who bears human's sins?
E.G. White says SATAN (The Great Controversy, p. 422, 485-486)
The Bible says JESUS (1 Peter 2:24)
Should I believe EGW or the Bible?
I have read so much of what EGW wrote and what others in the church and outside have written about her writings. She calls her writings "little light" that lead people to "greater light", the Bible. The truth is her writings are leading me away from the Bible. Should I believe the Bible or clear heresies of E.G. White?

    Stunning

    • @freeinhabitant2422
      @freeinhabitant2422 Před 9 měsíci +2

The reason why he couldn't answer is because it isnt that simple. If your sins are blotted out, then that is presumption. It does not teach in the Bible that while you are alive you are home free. In fact, it says this: "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Rev 3:5, KJV)"
YOU MUST FIRST OVERCOME. This is what the Bible teaches.
If he said, yes, then the panel and audience would take that to mean that blotting out sins would be the entirety of the answer, which is not the case. It is possible to have your name blotted out of the Book of Life, even after God has taken away your sins, and that means your sins come back upon you - all of them.

@@MaryMartinez-lm5tv When the priest lays his hands on the goats head, is the transfer. Lev 21:16 -
*_And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat,_* and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: (Lev 16:21, KJV)
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (Isa 43:25, KJV)
You need to remember that the Lord was talking to people in the midst of their sin, reminding them of the kind of God He was. That is the context. Earlier He is complaining about their iniquities. Look at the whole context. He said similar things, such as I am the Lord your Holy one...
      "Creator of Israel..." v 15
"The Lord which makes a way in the sea..." v 16
"Brings forth Chariot and horse..." v 17
He is identifying himself, not merely stating the whole plan He has of His Salvation.
Yes, He does blot out the sins of His People, but we cannot go off sinning after we ask Jesus to forgive. The Bible is clear. Our names can be blotted out of the book of life, as it says in the Book of Revelation. Also, in the passage of the one who was forgiven so much, yet broke the Law by not forgiving his brother - His salvation, was revoked.

The adventist leaders did not tell Walter Martin the truth about Ellen White. First, they wouldn't answer his question if she is the infallible interpreter of scripture, then Johnson said she is not. But the truth is, you need to accept Ellen White at baptism. The spirit of prophecy (referring to Ellen White) is one of the baptismal vows. Literally a vow to Ellen White at baptism. As it's been said before.....nobody was ever asked if they will add Isaiah or Elijah or John the baptist as a vow to their baptism. -Ephesians 4:5 there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. They really affected Walter Martin's research by not answering his question on Ellen White.

I can only offer these: On February 7, 1887, the General Conference passed the following resolution, “That we re-affirm our binding confidence in the Testimonies of Sister White to the Church, as the teaching of the Spirit of God.” SDA Year Book for 1914, p. 253.
Question? If the Testimonies are as claimed by Adventism, “the teachings of the Spirit of God,” would they NOT BE infallible?
“Our position on the Testimonies is like the key-stone to the arch. Take that out and there is no logical stopping-place till all the special truths of the Message are gone...Nothing is surer than this, that the Message and visions (of Mrs. White) belong together, and stand or fall together.” Review and Herald Supplement, August 14, 1883.
“It is from the standpoint of the light that has come through the Spirit of Prophecy (Mrs. White’s writings) that the question will be considered, believing as we do that the Spirit of Prophecy is the only infallible interpreter of Bible principles, since it is the Christ, through this agency, giving real meaning of his own words.” G. A. Irwin, General Conference President, from the tract The Mark of the Beast, p. 1.
The highest officer of the Church confesses that E. G. White’s writings are the only infallible interpreter of Bible principles. Believing this, how can we test the writings of E. G. White as being true? The Roman Catholic Church has an infallible interpreter of Scripture, the Popes for nearly 2000 years, and now the Adventism has a "pope" to infallibly interpret Scripture. The good news is that God has given his true Church a true infallible interpreter of Scripture and He is the Holy Spirit-all else is Satan’s counterfeit.
EGW is the Infallible Interpreter of Scriptures claim Adventist Leaders
"Her (Ellen White’s) abundant literary production includes tens of thousands of Biblical texts, coupled often with detailed expositions. Careful study has shown that her writings are consistent, accurate, and in full agreement with the Scriptures." Seventh-day Adventist Believe, A Biblical Exposition of 27 Fundamental Doctrines, Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1988, pp. 224,225.
"The Bible and the writings of Ellen White are inerrant.” Sabbath School-Quarterly; Feb. 11, 1978, Teacher's Edition, p. 112.
"There is hope for every remnant believer today who sometimes feels confused at all the differing views taken by different scholars and commentaries. We have that was given for the purpose of settling the disagreements among the uninspired commentaries. What do you do when the scholars disagree? Do you have to become a better scholar than the best in order to settle the disagreement in your own mind? No, let me repeat. God has given to our church an inspired commentary to settle the disagreements among the uninspired commentaries. And we can still be thankful for that today." Morris Venden, The Pillars, p. 30.
"We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality. The superintendence of the Holy Spirit was just as careful and thorough in one case as in the other." Ministry, October 1981.
"Shall we accept the view that a Seventh-day Adventist theologian is more dependable than a Seventh-day Adventist prophet? I highly respect many of our Seventh-day Adventist theologians. I have sat at their feet and been taught by them. I admire and respect them highly. I would like to remind you, however, that you can search the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single text marking out theologians as having the gift of the Holy Sprit. The Scriptures indicate however, that prophets have a gift of the Holy Spirit. Ellen White had that gift and she was canonical insofar as doctrinal interpretation is concerned." Letter from D. A. Delafield trustee of the EGW Estate, to P. C. Drewer, June 24, 1981.
“As with ancient prophets, the talking is done by the Holy Spirit through her vocal organs. The prophets spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” Review and Herald, Oct. 5, 1914.

The fact is that Ellen's statement in Desire of Ages is categorically an anti-Trinitarian statement ("in him was life unborrowed, eternal....").. The anti-Trinitarian Pioneers made the same statement repeatedly AND ALL IT MEANT was that Christ's deity was ON LOAN and THAT on loan deity WAS THE LIFE IN CHRIST that was eternal. I heard from some other former SDAs that the organization released a book called Questions on Doctrine to give to Walter Martin and his fellow investigators to get the group off the list as a cult. However, when SDA teachers and ministers began teaching what was in that book regarding certain doctrines they were fired or defrocked.
I watched this debate/dialogue years ago but from what I understand listening to some other former SDAs, if the organization would have been honest about what they teach/believe regarding doctrine Dr. Martin never would have listed them as heterodox rather than cultic on the basis of doctrine regardless of their allegiance to Ellen White.
Myles, do you have any insight on the book Questions on Doctrine, how the SDA organization misled Dr. Martin, and took advantage of his willingness to "believe all things" and give them the benefit of the doubt rather than being upfront about their doctrinal beliefs?

How many individual commands are there in each? You'll find four important facts. They are not numbered in the text. They have about 15 commands each. They are not all the same. (Only Deuteronomy has this command: "Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.") And fourth: the commandments against covetousness are in two different orders. Catholics use the same numbering system as Augustine, who followed the version in Deuteronomy 5 by separating the commands against coveting another's wife from coveting another's possessions. The former pertains to adultery while the other pertains to greed - two different kinds of sins.
We also keep the Sabbath but we keep it in the Christian way, not in the way the Jews were commanded to keep it, and especially not in the way Jewish or SDA TRADITIONS demand.

He is not judgeing us at any point, our own choices and actions judge us. If we truley love christ , God then we will live our lives in accordance. We will have Gods laws written on our hearts, not on a piece of paper to be checked off. Be blessed

      "hateful intent"
Oh brother. No, Adventism isn't Christian. That's why it's titled that way. Adventism teaches a false gospel and preaches a false Christ. Poke around first before parroting the standard SDA talking points.
And when SDAs try and cry victim, it's rather ironic considering they are a part of a movement that bears false witness and slanders the Christian church. It's hardwired into SDA systematic theology.
We're apostates, God is angry with us, our prayers are an abomination, we are worse than heathen. I could go on and on and on. Don't cry foul.

God's free gift of abundant grace and the gracious gift of Jesus Christ result in justification and salvation

How can salvation be a totally free gift when the gospel urges us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? (Philippians 2:12b) One thing many of us have always misunderstood: the free gift is first and foremost God's abundant GRACE which he lavished upon us resulting in justification and salvation through the redemption in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as an expiation, through faith, by his blood, to prove his righteousness because of the forgiveness of sins previously committed (Romans 3:24-26 justified freely by his grace, Romans 5:17b God's gift of abundant grace and of the gift of justification). Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God.
Romans 5:15 But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many.
Romans 5:20-21The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. In some sense it seems to me that justification is subordinate/subject to grace, in other words justification is not perfectly equal to grace.
Please note that St Paul didn't say to the Galatians that they had lost their salvation but he declared to them that they had fallen from grace and had been severed from Christ.
God's free gift of abundant grace can be freely received or denied.

Ellen G. White was a false prophet and below is what the Holy Bible has to say about it.
      Deuteronomy 18:18-22 kjv
      18. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
      19. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
      20. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
      21. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
      22. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
