My last wedding, I only took my 6 1/2 yr old son. We actually had a great time, he was very interested and picked some out. It was a lovely few hours together, and I did choose one that he had chosen, which made him so proud ❤️
Rules for bridal dress shopping:
1) Consultant should NEVER EVER show a bride a dress over budget, even if it is a dress a bride picks out.
2) When a bride makes a dress budget, she needs to take into account alterations, accessories, veil, & shoes.
3) Bride should never ever bring a large entourage; 2 ppl max. & the same 2 every time the bride goes shopping to avoid confusion.
4) It should never be assumed by the bride, the consultant, nor the entourage that THE DRESS will be found in 5 dresses or less.
5) 50+ dress try-ons is overkill. It will become mentally & emotionally draining, & everything starts running together.
With some of your points I wholeheartedly agree, but you've got the give the consultants some slack, when the budget is especially tight and the bride has a more expensive taste. The dress on Sophie was made for her! But yeah, truly over that ridiculously small budget for such a bridal boutique. They chose to go to that boutique, which might have had 3 dresses in total under a 1000 pounds. It's not realistic of the customer.
There could hardly be found a better dress in the whole of England for Sophie and it was reasonably priced. I'm so glad it could be worked out :)
The "5 times engaged never married aunt" is that way for a reason! Her niece is gorgeous.

These dresses are so much nicer than the ones in NY where they seem to be in love with the strapless, which really aren't always flattering. This one is beautiful! I'm an Identical Twin and my sis and I got married a year apart and wore the same dress. :)

I just looked up the year Di got married. I'd have just turned 3 a few days before, so it must be one if my earliest memories, because I specifically remember photos of her and Charles on the cover of every magazine and iwas just blown away. I remember thinking it was perfect, she looked like a combo of Cinderella and my favorite Barbie dolls. It couldnt have been better in my little eyes. Looking at it now, time has definitely marched on. Those poofy sleeves and all of the bows are just so much and i cant imagine how confined Diana must have felt. Kind of a sign of what her entire marriage ended up being. A sweet little girl confined and trapped in a giant thing that overtook her. But, wow, in that moment, it was perfect. David really outdid himself for the style at the time. He is responsible for a huge chunk of 80's memorabilia.

I wanted to jump through my computer to hug the bride & wrap the stickiest tape I could find around the aunt's mouth all at the same time. I hope she watched this back and realized that there's a time for sarcastic humor but never a time to be cruel.
I am one of those people who feels like a football player in almost any dress. I even had my husband say it once. So, hearing her aunt-who she chose to be there to love and support her- tell that beautiful young lady she looked like one really cut to the core.
Bride #1, dress #1: the designer was RIGHT THERE - if she didn't like the green/brown embroidery, why not ask the designer to switch to all-white embroidery?
Probably because it may be hard to envision it. Plus, it didn't seem like she love loved it.
and its not all dress that can be costumized even if done by a designer. Takes time.
The first dress was not from that designer. The second dress was.
Bride 1 was drowned a bit int he first dress.. it was wearing her. The one she chose looked so comfortable and timeless

Laura looks amazing in her beautiful ball gown!! And she doesn't look anything like her sister, they both looked beautiful in their gowns.

Bride 1...my heart broke for her when mom said it was too much embroidery. When you have tried on 50 dresses, are a perfectionist, have confidence issues and find something you absolutely love....tell people you love it without a doubt, everybody aught to stop the nitpicking and agree.
It drives me crazy when brides are offered gowns over budget! So manipulative and unprofessional.
The first bride - the first dress. She should have just had the embroidery stitching colour changed. Not a huge fix on a special order gown. I’m shocked the bride rejected it when it was so much more flattering than the one she chose
How Dare that aunt say those horrible things to her niece, Ann Marie,yes you, no wonder you were engaged 5 different times, those men seen your true colors and ran away so fast and never looked back. This young bride was stunning in her dress,she was gorgeous. I really hoped she picked that dress,but her own aunt ripped her confidence away from her. That Jordan not even willing to try something because she didn’t like it on the hanger. I didn’t like mine on the hanger either until I put it on and it looked amazing!! You need to be more open in so many ways, not just clothing but life in general. You are mentally closing yourself to things that could be wonderful! I hope that as she matures, she learns that.
I have sat through almost 2 hours of scenes from different episodes, WHY do they show the SAME dresses over and over?

6:29 most people dont relaise that the people who come acorss the most confident and bubbly are usually the ones with deep self doubt & confident issues. Im really loud and act confident but im really not confident, i usually change my clothes a fair few times before ill finally leave the house and then i constantly check i look ok, it comes acorss as im checking myself out all the time but im honestly not 9 times out ot 10 im looking and thinkin how awful i look 😬🤦♀️

Katie is an extremely beautiful woman. I was disappointed too at the reaction of her entourage. She felt so happy in that wonderful dress, so at home. And then they go silent, for they wanted the other one. Not nice of them. Luckily they came around, but they did kind of spoil the moment. I hope Katie could forget that. I don't think I could have. That's why I went shopping for my dress alone. And got a gorgeous dress, that was totally me (and of course representative of that time).
Just remember, when you look in the mirror tomorrow morning before you leave the house - *that this is the YOUNGEST you are ever going to look for the rest of your life.* And find something about yourself, your appearance, to be grateful for. Luxuriant hair, lovely hands, slender feet, nice teeth, kind heart, gentle soul. Find one thing. And feel gratitude, and give yourself kindness.
You can cover that tattoo with makeup.

When the first Jenny said she didn't like mermaid dresses I thought, "no, you'll look great in one" and she did! The last bride was so sweet and I'm so happy she got to see how all of her hard work paid off!
The best friends and the buttons, etc., seems so wrong. I truly hope this is about how the episode was cut and pasted than how they actually are together. The honesty is fine, but making it as a competition seems unnecessary. Heck, they should be able to wear the exact same dress and support one another! If my best friend wanted to get married in a cat shaped dress that really made her happy, I would stand with her. Sure, there may be a giggle or two, but we are so close that it wouldn't matter!

With marriage comes tremendous responsibility and the need for maturity. If a bride to be cannot choose a dress on her own, and needs everybody else's approval she is not ready
That's simply not true. Maturity comes in different forms. Some people don't care at all about what others think and I'd go as far as to call them the more immature ones. If a more uncertain bride finds a supportive husband, she'll mature quite lovely. Some people do have that tender love for quite a bunch of people and some people just are happier when all around are happy too. People are different. At that's perfectly okay.
And that 'tremendous responsibility' comes with having children, which might take a few years nowadays.

Ladies do not get a sleeve of tattoos. There is not a full arm of tattoos that would make any wedding dress look elegant.

I'm never a fan. I've seen some truly astounding tattoos, by some incredible tattoo artists, but I'd honestly prefer to see them as graffiti on the side of a building, or some souped up car, than on a human body...

I know it's "salesmanship" as I've been married to a salesman for over 30 years -- but I would personally say: "Do NOT show me anything that goes above my budget". (On a personal note I can't stand sales people).

I think all the brides look stunning. Except the second bride. I didn't like any of the dresses on her. I love the dress she picked,just not on her.

First girl has not lost her control from eating disorder...she has merely displaced that to control other things. People that call themselves 'perfectionists' rarely are, they are usually quite broken which is not perfect. They just find ways to control environment rather than fix themselves...

Oh, I agree...but kids these days try each other on for size. They think a child is disposable, but marriage is forever. Then they want to wear a big white poofy dress with children in tow. The jig is up! I don't know why people don't have a simple register office wedding in the beginning...if they stay together, then have a big party, which is all a wedding is. A marriage is a covenant between two people, that they don't want to make even if they have a mortgage or a child or two together...smh
