    In this video I will do a thorough test and review of the new Ego model LM2167SP (with the battery and turbo charger). It is model LM2160SP as a tool only. I will go over the new Speed IQ self-propel technology and digital screen, and put it through a long grass torture test as well as a time test to see how long the battery lasts in mulching mode. This mower comes with a 56 volt 12.0 amp hour battery that is good for 1,000 charge cycles and a 700 watt turbo charger. I will put it to the test mulching leaves and demonstrate how the new self-propel system works. This mower has the select cut multi-blade system. It is the 56 Volt 21" Select Cut XP mower.

    I just bought the LM2167SP Select Cut XP this week at Lowes on sale @ $699.99 using a Lowes 20% off coupon (MAX DISCOUNT OF $100) my final price was $599.99/ $636. w/tax. I sold the battery and the charger to a friend as I didn't need either of them for $575. , Now I have the newest EGO mower for a whopping total final cost of $61.00 . My wife now totally approves of my purchase. I'm still not thrilled about the Speed IQ feature vs my last EGO model that used the barrel adjuster and the handle paddles. Mower lurches forward too much sometimes and the loud sounds it makes while in auto self propel mode id annoying even when using earphones.. I wish they made the on/off button for speed control a-lot bigger, as it doesn't always respond to the push. But hey I can't complain too much for a total cost of $61.00 for the mower. :)

    The LM2142sp has 8.3lbs of torque and runs on 1 or 2 batteries, and spreads the load across the 2 batteries to help extend their lifespan. At $699 with 2 5.0 amp batteries included, Im debating between it and this newer one. I could use those 2 5a batteries in other tools, where I wouldnt be able to use the 12a without a backpack. The 2142 only has 1 blade, but I guess you can upgrade it to 2. Tough decision. Great video by the way, you showed it off well.

      Thanks for the kind words. It does not have a self propel without using the speed iq unfortunately. I would probably recommend the 2156 model if that's what you want. It has the same torque, just comes with a 10 AH battery instead of 12. And of course no digital screen or speed IQ. And I think they are marked down to like $650 at Lowes right now from $859.

    You nailed the issues with the Speed IQ. If you have long, straight cuts, the Speed IQ can be very nice, but if you have landscaped yard with lots of curves, the Speed IQ can be very aggravating. If you have to make some short pushes, combined with the fact that the clutch does not always release right away can make it feel like you are wrestling with the mower and while the mower is not super heavy, if you are doing a lot of short pushes such as those under overhanging shrubs, it can tiring to use the mower even if you have the drive off.

    Thank you for this in-depth review on this LM2167SP mower that I have been considering. I really like the digital display for the easy readout and battery life, the full-time minimum Turbo blade speed to get better suctions when doing maintance cuts at higher settings (all XP motors have the same maximum blade speed), 12.0Ah battery for the runtime and the wire-less single clip retractable handle bar. Yes, the final item that holding me back for the decision is the Speed IQ and based on the review I may have to wait for another model to replace my current LM2142SP (or name it correctly, a retrofitted EGO Select Cut LM2146SP XP with Peak Power technology!)
    It is true that the LM2156SP & LM2167SP are the only two models EGO advertised with the XP 1200W 8.3ft-lb torque brushless motor; however, the very first original EGO mower with this XP motor that is never advertised to date is actually the current LM2142SP equipped with Peak Power technology. Introduced in 2018 with the XP motor which requires minimum of 10.0Ah power to produce the optimum perform required EGO to provided 2 x 5.0Ah batteries and paired them with the Peak Technology to achieve the possibility with 80 min. of runtime. Retrofitted it with the EGO Select Cut High Lift blade set (best setup for any cut), fan and washer it is easily turned into a Select Cut model in 15 minutes and with the extra weight and resistance of the blade assembly this XP motor will always be spinning at Turbo blade speed. When paired with two 10.0Ah batteries from the snow blower at 20.0Ah it becomes a LM214"6"SP (new EGO naming: "2"=5.0Ah, "4"=6.0Ah, "5"=7.5Ah, "6"=10.0Ah, "7"=12.0Ah on the last digit of the model number) with extra weight to hold down the mower and the runtime that I don't even pay attention anymore after cutting 5,700 square feet with 5~7 degreed slops and still have two bars on each 10.0Ah battery to trim with the IQ trimmer and the 765CFM blower without running out of battery power at the end.
    I am hoping to see a Peak Power model with everything LM2167SP has to offers without the Speed IQ (Touch Drive or dual leaver on each side of handle would do fine for me) and maybe with a wider cutting deck like 24" or 30" in the future. Thank you again for this in-depth review that really help me for my decision. Maybe I will pick one up when it's on a deep discount sale but not right now.

    @XanafiedcatGaming Před 11 měsíci +3

    I have heard some complaints about the Speed IQ self-propelled feature as the mower controls the self-propelled feature. Personally this is not a issue for me at all. I have no trouble controlling the mower even without it adjusting the self-propelled speed on it's own. Plus you can turn the self-propelled feature off and on while the mower is running. ECO Mode is usually enough to cut 90% of my lawn. This mower can be a bit of a power hog unless you are using the Eco Mode feature but for a regular EGO user with other EGO products and batteries that is not really a major concern.
    Overall I think this mower is better than what people give it credit for and the monitor screen is brilliant. The only thing that would make that part better is if it told you the time as well which there is certainly enough room on the monitor for. Simple solution, just let us put a double A battery in the next model so a clock could remember the time when there is no EGO Battery in it. I have bad flat feet and the self-propelled feature make me feel like I am walking the mower almost like you walk a dog instead of pushing or without constantly having to push a handle. Having this mower is a great relief to my flat feet.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  Před 11 měsíci

      I agree that the display is great. And this mower is great in straight lines and open areas. I just don't like how it tries to jump out of my hands when I need to stop it. I do find myself using it more with the self-propel off lately.

  • @infotime

    @Fix it Flip what about the mohawk. Can you talk more about that. One reason I was thinking about going to the top of the line EGO mower was go avoid that. I get it on my LM2101 and don't recall ever having that problem with gas powered mowers.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  Před 11 měsíci

      I would say possibly a dull blade or low blade speed. But this blade was brand new and it has plenty of blade speed. My guess is I just wasn't overlapping my lines enough.

    • @infotime
      @infotime Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@fixitFlip I don't know how much overlapping one needs to do. But this is their top of the line mower, new blade, highest power and torque - and it still has mohawks. I thought upgrading my low end model would fix it. Maybe it's just an inherent flaw with EGO mowers.

Sucks Ego didn't just replace the one I got with the same one.

    When we bought the older Ego we were disappointed that it wasn't self propelled. Then we realized that the mower weighed about as much as an empty baby stroller...and we never missed it. It is almost insulting that something so light would be expected to self propel and we felt silly that we did. It is holdover from heavy gas mowers.
