Glad to hear these work for you! My son uses them since he turned 8 approximately and he is doing very well! That is, he does well when he doesn’t put on a tantrum to use them 😅! Great product, it has helped tremendously.

I am a musician/drummer and I’ve got the other kind as well because I’ve been diagnosed with high frequency hearing loss and I have severe tinnitus. There is no way I would use the hearing aids to play. I’m trying out some Eargasm devices to block the initial volume impact while providing my ability to hear the highs and lows still out for lunch on it all.

Being a fellow musician, I can somewhat agree with your desire to avoid using hearing aids at gigs or playing the drums. However, at lower volume gigs or even if you are using those "silent" cymbals and drum heads or an electronic kit, it can certainly be beneficial to use your hearing aids. Looking into ear protection for a live drum kit is a great idea! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Paul for your heartfelt review. Like you, I am a musician. I’ve had hearing aids now for about 10 years, and also like you, probably should have gotten them 10 years before that. My ears perked up when you said you had a custom program for music. I’m looking at purchasing some new aids, so if you have the time, I’d like to ask a couple of questions. Are you using domes to let the high frequencies in, or are you using custom molded plugs? My current aids have custom molded plugs, but because my aid only goes up to about 4k, I have to take them out to hear what is going on with the top end. Also what is the quality of the Bluetooth streaming for music? The reviews I’ve read about Bluetooth streaming with hearing aids in general seem to be saying the quality isn’t there yet, so that’s why I’m curious. This video is encouraging to me, as the "highs" are what I've lost the most. I'm an FM radio DJ & an audio junkie myself, and I recently experienced an inexplicable reduction in my hearing, literally overnight.
The song Don't Look Back by Boston came on my car stereo & I thought the speaker settings had somehow defaulted or something.
During the intro, only guitars are heard for the first couple of measures, then a tambourine joins. I can no longer hear the tambourine... at all.

Crash cymbals are distorted & decay entirely too quickly. Because music is such an integral part of my life, the losses are easy to recognize.
At 1000 hertz, my threshold level is around 20 but at 2000, it dips to 40 right & 60 left.
I'd like to ask the gentlemen in the video a few questions, if there's a way to connect with him. I wear glasses & that is a major concern for me.

Hey mfa718! Just curious what you didn’t like about the Signia ax. Because they supposedly go up to 12k, I’ve been considering them along with the Oticon Real. How were they in a noisy environment? Thanks so much!

Hello and Thank you for your review. I am a jazz singer in need of hearing aids. Have you had any issues with occlusion when you sing? I am in a panic about hearing myself sing accurately and clearly whilew earing hearing aids.

I use Widex,.. and i highly recommend them, they seem to be the number one over oticon, widex is more specifically for musicians!, i absolutely love them (I apparently have perfect pitch, so i could vouch for that), I could not use any other device,.. Ive only never tried Oticon or Signia, (which is basically the same as widex just like an offbrand), so cant speak to those devices , however out of all the rest that ive tried, including the phonak lyric which is the non removable IIc’s and those had excellent sound quality!, but I wasn’t a candidate,.. so i had to switch,.. I had also had other manufacturers such as starkey, (which id say is what id absolutely never recommend for musicians), regular phonak hearing aids, and ReSound, never bothered trying out anything else once I learnt that Widex is really actually the number one for musicians so I really wanted to try that out first at that rate,.. So then tried Widex and I have to say that those were the only ones that were just as perfect sound quality as i had with the Phonak lyric especially when it came to music.. Widex offers a wider range of sounds that allow to be in the hearing aid, and can take in extremely soft sounds, so you can easily hear extremely quiet sounds in those devices,.. it also does depend on what your audiologist feels good with,.. Id recommend trying it out for yourself to see

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that this guy was paid to give a good review because this is the exact opposite of what my experience has been with the oticon real 1 hearing aid I have struggled with this hearing aid. I am also a musician and have not been able to actually analyze a song to its fullest in over a year since my sudden hearing loss. this hearing aid makes listening to music worse, for me. I have a tremendous amount of feedback and background noise and it sounds like a tin can.
