    I am so glad that Oticon continue to release battery versions and not just rechargeable options. I do up to 15 hour shifts, never mind the rest of my day/night afterwards. I don’t think the rechargeable would get me through a shift where it is essential to have communication at all times!
    I also work in the wind a lot, and struggle to hear my colleagues and patients, so I can not wait to try out the wind noise feature and speech artist that comes with it 😁
    A reduction in handling noise would be amazing too, it’s insane how much long hair rubbing on your hearing aids can cause, I never realised hair could be so loud 😮

    I recently had Signia Styletto hearing aids for a 45 day trial. The noise I heard when I touched them was helpful in letting me know they were actually charged and turned on. Thumbs up for that particular noise!

    Thanks for this video! I have had the Phonak Audeo Marvel and would been keen to try these new Oticon hearing aids. I have a one sided hearing loss though, and have tried some of the new hearing aids these past few years and not noticed much difference to justify the hefty price tag. Keen to try out these new ones though, especially with the wind blocking feature

    Thank you Matthew for your informative videos. They are comprehensive in discussing the features of each particular hearing aid. It would be most helpful to us as consumers if you would name names and make comparisons to similar products. For example, in discussing the OTICON REAL you mentioned it is superior to two competitors in regard to wind noise. Who are the competitors? This information would help us make an informed purchase decision. Thank you.

    Thanks very much for this timely video! I'm currently in the 30-day trial period with the Oticon More hearing aids, which are the first hearing aids that I've ever tried. I like the More hearing aids overall, but I believe I would benefit from the two new features of the Real hearing aids since they appear to address the two biggest annoyances that I've experienced with the More hearing aids to date. Hopefully, there'll be no downside to switching to a newly released hearing aid without first seeing reviews and hearing feedback from users.

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Před rokem +3

      Hi Barney999, great question. I would think that you would be fine as it’s built on the same chip, so it’s not like it’s a huge wave of new, untested tech. As a default if you trialled it and didn’t like it you could always jump back to the mores. Thanks for watching, Matthew

      @terrilemberger5840 Před rokem +1

      What didn’t you like? I’m trying them out too.
      The only thing I don’t like is it skipping from one ear to the other while I am streaming.

    • @barney9997
      @barney9997 Před rokem +1

      @@terrilemberger5840 Sorry to hear of your problem while streaming. I've only done very limited streaming with the More hearing aids and I didn't experience the problem you're experiencing with them. The two annoyances I have with the More that I believe the Real hearing aids are supposed to address are:
      1) In a covered, very open, crowded outdoor dining area with a lot of things going on, the more-or-less sudden type of background noises seemed to dominate what I was hearing, to the point that it was difficult for me to clearly hear my wife who was sitting across from me during the time we were there. I've only been there once with my More hearing aids, but it is a place we regularly dine at, so it'd be great if the Real hearing aids will handle this better.
      2) At home, I take my reading and computer glasses off and on many times throughout the day. Every time I do this, I hear loud static. One pair of glasses are loose fitting so they move around when I even slightly tilt my head, which causes static in my hearing aids every time I move. To correct this, I bought a glasses holder that secures them while I'm wearing them, but I don't particularly like to wear the glasses holder.
      Of the two problems, the dominate background noises is the most concerning to me. The glasses static problem is kind of minor. It'd be nice if the Real hearings aids will handle these situations better than the Mores.
      I should have the Real hearing aids available to me for trial in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I'm still on trial with the Mores. I like them enough that I would keep them if the Reals did not become available.

    I tried out the Phillips from cos co, and actually found out they are otocon, when I brought them back.
    Not knowing I went to an audiologist to try the otocon more 3.
    Unfortunately I’m having the same problem I was having with the first set.
    While I’m streaming it cuts out from the ear to the other ear.
    If this wasn’t a problem, I would love them.
    I asked the woman at cos co if they have gotten this complaint before, she of course aid no.

      Hmmm. I had a pair of Oticon More on trial and that exact symptom was very annoying when connected to my computer. I had to give up using them when teaching online as the student's voice would keep cutting out or switching. Now I have the Oticon Real 2 model and they got me a new ConnectClip. I am actually able to use this combo online as it does not cut out. Not sure which device fixed the problem as there may have been a problem with the ConnectClip because it's mic feature could not be turned on either. However the crazy thing was I had to go to the older Companion Ap because the newer Oticon ON caused the LR channel controls to be reversed in my ears but only with the Real 2 devices.

    My first were Oticon about 6 years ago, cost $7000 us. The buttons sucked and would break (not function) after a few months also the paint wore off quickly showing black plastic underneath. I like touching my hair/aid to see if it's functioning and compare l/r. Sorry maybe they should improve basics like button life. Froggy. Like my GN Jabra's pretty well.

    Being a musician, the More oscillates pitch. Playing a single sustained high note, on a classical guitar for example, will oscillate the pitch. Also, listening to live piano music is like phase shifting. Support had me turn off “feedback” in the Feedback Manager which greatly reduced both effects but as you know it now squeals. Do you think Real will solve this oscillating and phasing issue?

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Před 9 měsíci +1

    Thank you for your reviews, which I think are very well presented. Sadly, there is little mention of how the hearing aids cope with live classical music, as if listening to music just isn't important in an individual's life. It would appear that the manufacturers think this. In particular, how do the hearing aids deal with organ music? My Phonak Virto V90's are fine in every respect except they perform dreadfully (too unpleasant to use) with organ music, even after my audiologist has tweaked everything possible. Could you address how well hearing aids perform with music in your reviews, please, and be THE FIRST of all the presenters online to give equal importance to music as speech? Many thanks in anticipation.

    Doesn't do Cross well. Getting digital distortion when playing my guitar. The solution: turn cross off while playing guitar. My left ear is deaf, and my right ear has at least 60% loss, I am close to being completely deaf. I've worn hearing aids since 2006, and Cross systems since they were invented. Never had a problem with Phonak, and other brand Cross systems, just Oticon. As well as there are other artifacts introduced into the sound, even now as I type. My guess is I have a lousy "Doctor" of audiology that doesn't have a clue what they are doing when making adjustments. Although, to her credit, the last time I was there she called support and it was their suggestion to turn off cross when playing guitar. Ridiculous. So far Oticon is a highly expensive and miserable hearing aid system. I am sure it's my fault for having hearing loss right? That always seems to be the case, user error, although the user has no access to making adjustments.
