I worked at an Am-Law 100 law firm in Dallas, and a couple of the other paralegals and I found a room like this with a basketball Pop-A-Shot arcade game in there. The room was abandoned, and was kind of in a nook where people wouldn't naturally walk past it. Every single day for a year, from 2:45pm-3:00pm we would meet down there for a Pop-A-Shot tournament. This film feels exactly like that.
I really connected with your story. Way back in college, my university forgot to budget for the landscaping on a new residence hall. So, our residents director came with up a plan to "make up the difference" with a student crew (versus expensive pros) for the regularly scheduled Summer dorm paint/refresh - I was selected as a 'foreman'. It was hard and hot work as, no students in the halls, then no high aircon bills either. By the end of the second week, we had organically instituted a "Water Break Bowling Tournament" consisting of masking paper rolls as the pins and densely packed used tape 'bowling balls'. Our long hallway "lanes" were twice the length of traditional alley with natural bumpers (floor molding) and gutters (door entries). One time, a cleaning lady magically appeared out of a room and didn't make it quite to the end stairwell before a bowl hit her ankle - she never complained - just limped the rest of the way without looking back. 😂 The next building had a 4-story glass breezeway where one day, while waiting for everyone to get back from lunch, one crew member turned over a few empty 5 gallon plastic buckets (bongos) where we had the most amazing pre-STOMP exhibition for all the janitors and resident assistants. One of the best jobs I ever had and didn't pay anything really.
