1:55 in case someone wanted to know: the churning butter thing really happened. In the 2014 Polish entry (Donatan&Cleo - We are Slavic). Eurovision is full of memorable moments like that.
Sweden even wrote a song about many of them for the interval act when they hosted in 2016, it's worth checking out.

I just wish they brought back ASC, but took it more seriously. Promote it early, show us the tracks, music videos, hype us about it, prepare really huge stage (not something smaller than Idol has) and mainly! bring not only USA, but also other countries from North and South America... Then it really would be America's Song Contest.

Well, he landed in the 18th place out of 25 songs which qualified so not the worst result, but definitely a far cry from Sam's 2nd place finish, in 2022.... The UK will continue to keep on carrying on, until something drastic changes, apparently. 😲

How did the UK hit the mark so brilliantly with Sam Ryder (because let’s face it, we won that year) and then think yesss we’ve found the formula, Let’s send Mae Muller and Olly Alexander with the most generic AF pop songs with singers who can’t sing live, that’ll win it for us. They’re like a woke tv exec who has no idea what the audience actually wants but plow ahead with their dumb ideas anyway convinced they’re in the right.

How do other countries manage to still rate higher with the same formula you've just described that doesn't suit the UK? 🤷

Hahahahahahaha "you're so talented" according to the bookies he has a 2% chance of winning. In spite of his glowing description of how this SONGcontest has turned into a Gay camp performance art ( well put Kelly!) contest, Ollie's performance art is not really doing it for the crowd.
ESC has become THE best example of what the great Fran Lebowitz has said about Gay culture..it lost it's best during the AIDS crisis and has never recovered. Probably because we are no longer an underground culture.
In the mean time my vote will go to what looks to be the best singer with an actually proper song..Eden Golan with "Hurricane"

The odds are about people placing bets on the song’s chances of winning, not about an artist’s level of talent. He’s very talented as his worldwide success proves. He’s doing the show for fun, not to prove anything, he doesn’t need to. Israel has an excellent song and artist, so do many countries. It’s a tv show, carefully choreographed and produced, that’s all. There’s actually very little merit in winning other than to receive a trophy and the privilege of spending millions to host the following year. Israel is 100% not winning, that is not on the EBU’s agenda, and they have one I assure you. Eurovision is a flamboyant spectacle that appeals to the gay community and its great entertainment, that’s all.
