Bane's mask breaking triggered the second phase to his boss fight where the music speeds up and he gets even harder
Bane was unreal - growling like an animal and punching holes in stone was such a great touch
@@forty.twentyoneyeah he snapped
Thought the exact same thing lol
@@forty.twentyone Yeah, but he was totally out of control missing every punch
Impressive. Let's see Paul Allen's boss fight second phase.
I love the portrayal of Bane's sheer strength in this fight. Trying to adjust his broken mask, batman coming back at him and he just backhand swats batman away like he isn't even there
Ive always noticed this. Like "Bitch please!"
"Peace has cost you your strength - victory has defeated you."
And then Batman blocks his punches like they're nothing?
Yeah, real strong.
I wish they buffed him up more, like Bane SHOULD be.
@@splinter4161 the pain began to set in, that's why Batman was able to overpower him
But then gets laid down by him
Putting Batman in broad daylight to fight Bane is really what makes this scene special. There's no tricks, no deception, no fancy gadgets or fleeing into the shadows for Batman. He has to face Bane down and win through pure fighting capability
Agreed! The snow however is an excellent touch. Adds a tension and is unique and perfect to the setting.
Bane actually Profits way more from darkness and shadows considering him Having no sunlight growing up. Watch First Fight there he explain and Demonstrates this Huge advantage
What gets me is that it isn't a flashy fight. Its a simple fight that comes down to understanding the foe. Bane is very strong and resilient and this time batman knows it so he doesn't try to trade blows, he dodges most of it and picks his punches. It shows how much batman has learnt. He knows banes strengths and he knows his weaknesses and fully exploits that. It's such classic batman it's amazing.
But maybe batman should have used some gadgets. Pretty dumb cause he was losing the fight until he accidentally damaged banes mask. Batman in this movie was terrible
@@00yiggdrasill00 thats true and most fans hated this fight
"Tell me where the trigger is... THEN you have my permission to die." Best. Line. Ever.
It helps make up for the terrible “No, I came back to stop you” line at the beginning
Cringey action-movie 'hero uses the taunt villain used before as a callback' line.
@@bencarlson4300 lmao i thought that line was so corny too
I want Bane on the Harley Quinn cartoon to bust that out next season...
Thought it was cringey
Bane cracking the pillar was one of my favorite parts of this movie. Just shows how terrifyingly strong Bane was to bludgeon somebody so hard that even the missed blows managed to shatter stone. But this time Batman dished it out as well as he took it!
I wish they would have re-shot that. The second punch was too delayed.
@@paulbradley1983 I think the second punch was just out of frustration.
Really stupid scene. It was a cheap way to make him look strong but I think the choreography or what not was bad.
Cracking the most obvious fake pillar ever 🤣
@Spider Man Trilogy FullScreen and IMAX Sounds dumb but I think its just the overwhelming pain he's going through right now as Batman just damaged his mask which is this film is just holding his pain at bay.
The fact that Batman at 50-60% health was able to fight Bane at 100% is a testament to Batman’s resilience.
I feel like he’s at like 80% here. At least he got some prep time in. In the first fight he went in super cold, and thought he could just put on the suit like no time has passed.
@@PogueSquadron Bruce has still not fully recovered from his back injury from being shot in the second movie. Remember he has to use the augmented joint braces because of the significant injuries to his joints - especially his legs. I’m sticking by my assessment of 50-60%. Also, remember it was only 5 months from when Bane beat him, so was not actually that long at all to get in shape or “prep”. But he’s spent most of that time just trying to recover from that fight. Now if this were the Batman’s from the second movie, then I would give a 100% grade.
also a testament to plot armor
@@awesome-xg4hl faxx
@@awesome-xg4hl wouldn’t say plot armor imo
0:15 cop giving the guy the most brutal gut punch on the left
LOL
Hahaha. There are people who complain about that but I don’t give it much crap to this war because controlling and guiding all those extras while trying to make the sequence have a "happening in real time" feel was not an easy task at all. So, people not doing much effort was bound to be noticeable in the sequence. It’s commendable how it looks despite certain sloppy details.
1:09 😂😂
It’s actually ironic. Bane makes the same mistake here that he accused Batman of making in their first fight, which is fighting all out without holding back. Look how Bane panics when his mask gets hit and he starts punching nonsensically as hard as he can and he ends up tiring himself out which lets Batman defeat him.
I believe the pain may have become to much which is what gave Bruce the upperhand.
@@CyborgSodaCollects bane and Batman have both been trained to be highly resistant to pain imo. Look at the fight after bane punches the column is punches get a lot slower and so does he.
@@brandonrouach1885 Dudes not a heavy weight fighter lol he's a 5 9 dude on steroids. Bruce is a late 30s martial artist with crippling arthritis.
@@CyborgSodaCollects if he took the mask off it would have been EXTREMELY painful..
This whole end fight was lame. And banes weakness felt way to forced and a terrible writers choice of thinking of something to do that involved a mask weakness. They should of just had Batman beat him through coming and gadget. That's how he wins all his fights in the show when he's out classed.
Batman isn't just fighting for his city here, he's fighting with it, that's awesome
That's the overriding them for Batman. From the action defines the man in the first movie, to everyone can be a hero in the last few scenes. These movies are about us, the little guys. Batman is the anti-superhero.
0:10 respect to the cop for single handedly trying to take down Bane on his own

@@wickywills fun fact: you did to my depression, what no amount of pills could.
You have to remember, Bruce was broken and 8 years out of shape the first fight. When he was imprisoned, he did what all prisoners do, he worked out! And he learned of Banes weakness, which is what gave him the advantage this time.
True he did get the jail workout
Ah! But there's a twist to that.
Batman with prep time can beat even god
Not to mention he sorely underestimated Bane at the beginning. Even despite Alfred's clear warnings.
Never before had Bruce come in contact with someone who was stronger, faster, and overall better than him at fighting. Raz Al Ghul was close. But Bane was, to paraphrase Alfred, too extreme for Raz.
@@mehulkalra2002 He can kill whole JL if given enough prep time. I remember him having a contigency plan for every JL member in one of the animated movies.

I absolutely love this scene. I love it because it's like the two Kings looking for each other in the midst of battle. Everyone knows not to interfere and let the two fight.
Copied the idea from Troy ( Prince Hector v "Achilles" on the beach )
I love how the people they fight are nothing compared to their fight with each other, so cool and epic!
Exact same as the original Highlander movie… when Connor Mcleod from the Clan Mcleod meets the Krugen in the clan battle in Scotland. They wont touch Mcleod, save him to battle krugen 👍🏻
Unless youre jamie lannister, in which case a spearman will interfere for you
One piece
I love that this scene is in daylight, I mean after the 8 year absent there was alot of people didn't even know if batman was real or not. And this kind of brought that legend literally to light
Not only that but earlier Bane also told Batman that he was born and molded by the darkness so when he confronts him again it’s broad daylight
It doesnt sit with me well. Id rather have batman in darker atmospheres
@@papayani6446 you didn't read my comment right, I LOVE this scene! For so long ge remained as a shadow and a myth and fir his final battle he came to light
@@deadkinggameplay i understand your point of view. i just stated that id rather have a persistent dark atmosphere in batman movies.
I love how it ties in to Bane’s quote earlier in the film too. “You fight like a young man, nothing held back. Admirable, but mistaken.”
Bane goes full berserk and loses the fight because of unfocused and wrongly timed hits and anger. Held nothing back. While that can be useful in some scenarios, it lost him his battle because of Batman’s technique of fighting.
He was trying to use reverse psychology and kept portraying his movements to keep batman thinking he was going crouch low and let out some bathroom attack
He beat him at his own game for sure.
Oh yea right, because debilitating physical pain from no longer being fed painkillers through his mask had nothing to do with it.
No. Not because of his technique. Technique is how you fight. Batman was losing. Bane became angered. This emotion blocked reason; he attacked, full power, wasting energy while missing putting him at the disadvantage.
Batman’s technique of catching Banes fist lol
Lot of people hate on the background fighting but this is an epic scene in a superhero movie. No CGI what so ever in the scene.
Definitely a unique take. And I love the background fighting.🤌🏽

I think the echoing back of “You have my permission to die” has special weight when you consider Bruce’s “No killing” rule.
This is surely the silliest the voice ever got, but the last line "Then you have my permission to die." is just perfect.
I love how this fight feels so much like a video game fight. There is a short opening dialogue before the charterers fight. There is a perfect amount of space around the fight so the player can see. The player gets destroyed at the start but then start because they are learning the boss fight then they do better at the end. There is one of those button mashing moments in games at 0:54. You also hurt the boss enough that it enters a second phase at 1:13

Specially the first Daredevil fight sequence (in an narrow corridor), you could *FEEL* the pain and struggle in every punch or kick.
i love how there's no special effect/cgi garbage in these fight scenes
The movie continues to age well due to great writing. 0:45 Batman's taking the high ground with poise as opposed to the first fight they had where when Batman had high ground he was tired and defeated. Good stuff.
I’d argue this movie was extremely sloppy but still very fun
When batman took the high ground it truly showed how much he learned from Master Kenobi. Truly one of the most films of all time! Bravo Vince!
Love how Batman dodges his punch and it breaks the pillar, and despite Bane's insane reflexes he just pauses and goes for a second punch on the pillar.
That last punch really was meant for Batman, if that had hit I'm sure it would have ended differently.
He was angry I think he just liked the feel of the first punch probably the first time he punched through concrete lol
“ah I hit the pillar. yeah you know what? fuck this pillar”
1:33 Bane punches the pillar out of pure anger 😂
0:44 I love the way he crawls up the stairs and literally just stands there😭😭😭
love how Bane gets so goddamn ferocious as soon as his mask breaks, absolutely BEAST!!
I agree. a longer second fight would have been great. this fight was awesome, but it needed to be longer. still, some of the best imagery from the movie is in this fight scene. what a movie
Brilliant fight and it all leads back to the same courthouse- almost the same hallway- where Bruce could not avenge his parents in Batman Begins. You can see the hallway in the background.
Holy hell, I never made that connection. Nice catch.
0:04 I love how Bane gives that guy a quick hug then tosses him
Literally the most convincing superhero boss fight ever. This is as real as a superhero fantasy can ever get.
He is such an awesome detective. his interrogation skills are just extraordinary
Gotta love how these guys in the background are just standing and fighting in the street, no running wildly around to avoid getting hurt. A proper brawl
I love this scene! But 1:52 always makes me laugh. That guy must be the worst shot in history! hahaha
What about 2:16? It's funny as hell😂
It's so cool how they're both just looking for each other
0:55 at that moment you can see the fear of banes eyes. He knew that batman was going to hit his mask. i loved that part of the movie even though bane had the mask to make him stronger than batman. But batman had the stronger heart batman climbed out of the pit because he had the heart. Bane didn't climbed out of the pit because banes doesn't have the heart to do nothing. Bane gave up. In this scene it shows that batman is stronger than bane and tougher than bane not physically but mentally.
I fucking love Bale’s Jericho trumpet of a voice when he shouts “WHERE IS YOUR TRIGGER?!” at the absolute top of his lungs. You can feel the power in his voice.
Bane: "So you came back to die with your city?
Batman: "No. I came back to stop you."
Bane: "Yeah man I know, it's a rhetorical one-liner" 🤦♂️
This was one of the worst comebacks. Literally anything else would've sounded better
Hot take and I know the Nolan nerds even though will be outraged they deep inside know to be true, Batman Begins was the best of the entire trilogy. The other two were saved by the villains. Also Batman hardly fights in these movies and pretty much gets his ass beat by everyone “major”. Overrated movies. Affleck still is the best Batman we’ve gotten and it’s a shame we never got to see a solo film. That being said, Reeves’ new trilogy looks very promising. The fact that he’s creating the world very much like the animated series is so awesome
@@soundthesirens4886 so your take is that the trilogy who put on screen some of the best graphic novels and storyarcs from comics is bad and overrated..

I don't care what anyone says, I love "where's the trigger". It made me laugh so hard in the theater, because Nolan must know about the criticism of Bale's Batman voice, so when they were shooting the scene, Nolan must have said "F*** it, it's the last one, go apes*** with it."
The way Batman's head snaps back from Bane's punch at 1:31 looked so real, wew!
Also the incredible music score, it syncs up perfectly with the fight.

Serious? It’s so fake-looking. It looks like they trained a while 20 min for this fight scene. Very amateurish-looking and not very dynamic.
Batman in broad daylight?!? Blasphemy!!!!
Bane's blind rage and desperation to end the fight resulting in him mauling that pillar and showing the force of the punches Batman was JUST taking, is CRAZY.
HWARSDATRAGGER!? WARESET!?
Hard to believe this film is almost a decade.
Yup behind the scenes some scenes were hard for Tom to film for his love for Batman cause he said it felt like he was beating up his childhood hero
Just open your eyes and look closely all the fighters in the back : that is ridiculous 😳
Gotta love the power of a work out montage scene that restores the protagonists health and power back to 150%
people are to used to movie fights with flashy moves roundhouse kicks it becomes dance like and if you have witnessed a real fight to the death its not a dance there is no flow, this fight and the rest in the trilogy are close quarters efficient strikes and blocking if you break it down in slow motion you can see how efficient the strikes counters and blocking they are fighting like they are in a phone booth and the way Bats blocks and counters banes attacks are very effective awesome fight scene

What I like about this Bane version is that he doesn’t have that tube which is a terrible weakness that the original Bane had If the knock it down Bane just disintegrates easy this one can hold up to a fight with no problem
