Batman was telling Gordon, that ultimately, he was his hero.
That bit was for people who understand what being a hero is all about.

Actually emotional
JoshAhmet ikrrr it wasss for me and iam rewatching the trilogy again in 2019!!!!
Best scene in the movie
Batman is Gotham's greatest detective, but Gordon is the close second. In some comic storylines,it's hinted that Gordon figures it out eventually but Batman's secret identity is still safe.

2:43 "That's Batman" + the Hans Zimmer's music cue = Goosebumps for me every time. Love that moment.
Same here. Incredible moment for sure

Same here intense moment
1:04 Is amazing also

Talia: "There's no way this bomb will be stopped."
Bruce: "Who said anything about stopping?"

Batman Begins-
Gordon: “I never said thank you.”
Batman: “And you’ll never have to.”
The Dark Knight-
Gordon: “Thank you”
Batman: “You don’t have to thank me.”
Dark Knight Rises-
Batman: “A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders, to let him know the world hadn’t ended.”
Batman saying Gordon never has to thank him, to saying thanks at the end is something that should be appreciated more in this trilogy.
Nigel Straw also told him who he is
Greatest trilogy, you mean
Batman didnt want Gordon to thank him. Bruce always wanted to thank Gordon.
I mean this trilogy is not good and it is boring
The action is bad so is the plot and this is one of the worst Batman In movie history but he is a hero he is better then Jason o Mora

What a powerful scene. The emotions it just transmits is something special. The reaction of Jim Gordon realizing that the man that has fought and give his heart and soul for a city and people who don't ever knew him, without even asking for anything back is truly emotional. How Robin just stares at The Bat flying away in the distance and he just thinks "This man, this symbol is about to give his life for all of us and we'll never even be able to even say 'thank you' to him"... And for them to think that Bruce Wayne, the richest man in the world with alot to lose still did it for his city is something beyond them...
You see, what makes a hero is not his suit, or his tools, or his fighting skills, or his powers. What makes a hero is his desition to walk the path no one else would walk, even when he knows he will not return...
Bruh 😢😢
I cry at the end of this movie. It’s just so fulfilling to see the Batman give everything for his city. He had no reason to return, but he came back to give his people life.
So much inspiring
I teared up reading this
Christ that was corny
It's too bad Thalia didn't live to see that she failed.
Daniel Nelson ra’s al goul knows
Not sure if you can even call that a death
Too bad she can't live long enough to birth Damion
I would’ve loved for that to happen.
You do know they got to let the good guy obviously win right this is movie
funny how there's just over 1 minute left on the timer . yet he has time for a kiss an a fair well speech lol
Want a million subs with no video . Exactly that’s what I just thought to myself 😭😭
Coz he’s Batman, he knew how fast Batwings could be
The kiss was like a second, and his farewell with Gordon was during a start up timer for the bat. This stuff happens a lot in movies but not in this case.
No there was 45 sec left dumb
Its a movie man....
1:24 I love how the suction of Bat-nose left a mark on Selina's cheek after that kiss
Ha! Good catch!
HAHAHA TRUE
Not every chick can boast to have that, that's a mark of honour
I absolutely love that scene of Blake’s at 3:10. His face started of as one of admiration and hope towards Batman. But as the music changed, his expression changed as he realised that Batman was going to sacrifice himself. Beautifully done
Absolutely agreed
The way the kid says “That’s Batman” gives me chills every time
Did she just randomly go to sleep.
Yep. My time has come. Better fake my own death
Pierre Deris 😂😂😂
@@ToxicSkull0 LMFAO
That death looked so laughably fake that I thought she wasnt dead and shed jump out w a knife and stab Gordon or sum shit. And also the fact that we clearly see batman in the cockpit 8 seconds before detonation, does he have a teleporter? And why did he tell everyone theres no autopilot, he can trust them so it's not like he needs to hide from them that he'll be alive. This is by far the weakest part of the film although batman finally revealing his identity to gordon was phenomenal.
Elsa Anna He didn’t tell anybody about the auto pilot cuz he wanted “Batman” to die in the explosion.
Batman was Gotham’s hero, but Gordon was Batman’s hero
Greg Nam absolutely!!! Gordon was Batman's real partner in this series and not no robin!!!
This was the end game before the End game of 2019. The drama was so high. Man I can never get tired of this scene
Aquaman:"What a lovely lovely day"
1 sec later
"Aquaman":Man,wtf?
I love that Nolan knows that Bruce and Selina belong together. So many thematic elements from the comics respected in such an otherwise drastic departure.
This may br w few years late. But Bruce has a bit of a thing for crazy and toxic women. Selina is really just the least screwed up one.
This is such a heroic moment, I love it. Batman has always saved people in this trilogy, but this was the one sacrifice that made him a true hero. Saving the entire city by having the city think he died in the explosion. And that kid saying, "It's Batman!" With that incredible music gives me chills. I also love how Batman lets Gordon know he is Bruce Wayne. That quote is amazing.
0:58 worst death by an actress ever
Even Gordon is disappointed
Aquib Shaikh fucker just slightly turns his head hha
that was the worst acting.
It’s strange too because Marian Cotillard is a fantastic actress. But her slouch was already too awkward a position to die in, and you can tell that they didn’t exactly shoot this scene a couple times to try and get the best shot. It was also pretty rushed considering how much ground they have to cover in the next ten to fifteen minutes of the movie. Overall it was just a really bad death scene and a character like Talia definitely deserved better.
😂😂😂
3:29. A great example of a true hero. A man willing to risk his life to save an entire city, especially Gotham.
Except he didn't really.
Jack Howard He already planned his escape plan before the real plan to take the bomb away from the city
simple....automatic pilot
Cloudy Summer but he was in the batwing wasn’t he? And didn’t Lucius say that there was a problem with the autopilot
Angel Rider Lucious finds out Bruce Wayne fixed the autopilot at the end, just after we find out that Blake’s first name is Robin. So, no. Bruce Wayne wasn’t in The Bat, he got out before it went out over the water and blew up.
Everyone: cheering

This film had one of the best soundtracks ever
Gordon saved that kid with love when he needed it the most and grew up to be a hero. Love changes everything.
Just doesn't change humans incarnating on Earth like cattle.
What
One thing I never got. The message of the film is that anyone can be the hero, but in the last film, he yelled at people for wearing hockey pads.
They were using guns and going to get themselves killed
Identify theft is not a joke dude! Millions of families suffer every year!
@@dummypiece9252 MICHAEL!!!
@@chrisv6413 ^^ this. it's the same reason bruce trusted robin in this movie. he saw they were cut from the same cloth. anyone can be a hero, but often then not, they aren't ones. just "cowards with a gun".
From the previous movie with Harvey Dent I think Batman wants a hero that fights crime the same way that Harvey and Gordon did, in fact Harvey was supposed to be the White Knight someone who replaces Batman's role as the City's savior. In general I don't think he condone a masked crime fighting style vigilante other than the ones he can trust.
What makes this scene extra special, is that it’s the first time we see Batman when the sun rises. The Dark Knight becoming Gotham’s White Knight.
He wasn’t the hero we deserved but he was the hero we needed.
May we always honor the DARK KNIGHT🦇
Like many others have stated, chills when the kid at 2:43 says, “No, that’s Batman!” And the theme starts and Blake at 3:00 just looks in awe at how he actually did it and then realizes that he’s about to sacrifice himself.
When that kid yells it’s Batman and that music starts up I get the chills every time
Blake knew Batman had to fly the bomb far enough away from Gotham. That's why his expression changed after he saw the bomb leaving the city.

Lots of rich men in Gotham
expendableloner look at Clark Kent AnD superman ? he doesn't even wear a mask to hide his face and Lois , Jimmy , mister white can't figure out Kent is superman! How ridiculous!
Gordon said he never cared who Batman's true identity was.
Bruce acted so much differently to Batman that Gordon never suspected it, it would be the same if one of your clueless friends was actually a vigilante, you wouldn't even let it cross your mind would you?
Matt this guys got it, it’s set in stone he’s 2 completely different people when he dawns the suit or when he’s Bruce
This movie did something else that made me love it along with all the other levels of awesome it had, It showed young boys in peril. You almost NEVER see that in movies. Its always little girls in danger, boys don't exist?? Thank you Nolan for remembering us, because we can care that boys are in danger too.
One of my all time fave scenes in any movie. What an epic picture of what selflessness looks like.
3:14 Probably the moment when he realises that he doesn't have to die but can kill the Batman.
Cat woman Anne Harthway has been the best actress to play that role ; sophisticated , classy ; tricky , tenacious ; words can’t describe the combination of Gordon , Fox and Batman ; this trilogy will go down as one of the best ever in my opinion !
That's actually just a refined and more dramatic version of Batman running with the bomb in the 60's movie.
Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!
Jesus Christ, you're right

The hero putting a coat line gets me every single time!
how did Christopher Nolan allow that talia death to be in the final cut
She blew him good.
Maybe his assistants gave him sedatives that night, before he calls a reshoot...
He didn't want to make this movie.
Proof that Nolan is a human too lol
The true story is that Marion Cotillard was on another movie during the shooting of TDKR. Nolan didn't appreciated it and purposely shooted this scene in 25 or 30 times till Marion would rush her own death and he kept that cut.
Just AMAZING directing and editing and writing. Okay listen. At 2:36 u see batman eject while blowing up the building. Then at 2:39 he says "heads down this is it" causing everyone to look down meaning nobody saw him escape. But actually 2 kids did see. Alot of yall dont think about the explosion before fying over the bay. That was no accident that was a diversion. Batman actually ejects himself and watches and Hope's that the batplane stays above and makes it over the bridge. After it does u can see it slowly descending lower as the bum itself starts to skid on water. Even at 3:13 batman looks to his left to watch the bum explode from where he ejected from. That is how Bruce wayne survived kids. I want my like.
This series has been a lot of things, giving me many different ideas and reminders, over the years.
I’ve realized what lesson it taught me only just as I watched this part again:
Evil can be anywhere, anyone, for any reason or no reason at all. Even we allow ourselves to become monsters, if we give in to the good feeling of being evil; because it does feel good. But evil hath no fury any greater than a man who knows he is doing the RIGHT thing, for the right reason; that is the greatest, most addicting feeling of them all.
All it takes a truly good person in an ocean of evil, to teach love, human compassion and self-sacrifice, to spread that good.
I love how that kid yells "No... That's Batman!"
What I love about this scene is that here is where we realize that Bruce Wayne actually idolizes Jim Gordon probably more than Jim Gordan idolizes Batman. Gordon, one man, alone in a police force dominated by corruption and greed, is willing to stand out in the open, potentially lose everything he has, to do what is right. I wonder if Jim Gordon realizes that his existince is likely what inspired Batman to keep fighting against all odds, as long as Batman had Gordon, one good man in a sea of lawlessness, there was hope for Gotham.
3:42 admit it you were happy at that scene
0:34 Batman's answer should be"who said anything about stopping" making a reference for batman begins (train scene)
0:41 favorite scene from this sequence. Robin is a great heir to the mantle
The song that plays when Batman stares into the ocean before it blows up is the same song that played when his parents died
The only fkin movie that gives me the chills all the time!Much love for the whole trilogy
You said it brother!
Self sacrifice. The ultimate super power, one every single one of us has within.
phoon except he didn’t sacrifice himself he turned on autopilot and ejected from the aircraft
Angel Rider batman sacrificed himself. Bruce wayne lived.
That day batman died. But his mask bruce wayne lived.
I think I would just cut the wire.

As something simple as putting a coat on a boy.
Gordon: Wait a second. I put a coat on a boy thirty years ago. BrUcE WaYnE??
It was his only coat, that's why he knows the one specific kid batman is talking about.
He did not put coat to some jerk, he did it to the billionaire orphan more like Prince of Gotham, obviously he will remember that.
You don't forget brother. You remember every case
I think he'd donated several of his clothings to different orphans. He gave Bruce his coat, maybe his necktie to a girl, his right sock to a 3 year old boy and the left one to a 6 year old girl, his underwear to a hobo. IDK. He'd remember which piece made it to who.

Batman sure Fs around a lot while an atom bomb is set to detonate in a minute and half.
A Hero can be anyone.....

Bruce Wayne Aka BAtman
01:34 A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat on a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.
Gordon knows Batman is Bruce just from mentioning a coat from decades ago. Yet Gordon barely recognized Bruce face to face in TDK when he crashed his lambo.
It’s incredibly unreal how Nolan topped The Dark Knight with this one
The Funniest part is after Batman's speech, Gordon recollects that incident immediately which happened over decades back.
I don't even remember whom I met Day before yesterday.
You have to keep in mind how important the Waynes were to Gotham; and the fact that Wayne Enterprises is a big part of the city during the Dark Knight trilogy. That coupled with Batman giving Gordan a very specific example of a hero makes it not hard to trigger that memory.
also, you having a shit memory, does not mean everyone elses is as well. and more to the point, that a renowned detective's memory.
It was a traumatic point in Bruce Wayne’s life and he remembered that kind act that Gordon did.
Yeltsin 68 Batman remembering it is fine, but OP is talking about Gordon remembering it.
**Batman flies off**

Am I the only one wondering how he survived this
I'm guessing the auto-pilot was in the vehicle !
BECAUSE HE IS BATMAN
Bruce Wayne had fixed the autopilot 6 months before "that" happened, they mentioned it in one of the scenes in the end of the movie. But I don't know why he didn't tell Fox that.
@@quyngo1999 Because he didn't want anyone to know that he would probably survive. he wanted to move away and leave Gotham.
@@ashrafmoola4426 That could be it, but he didn't know about that situation where he has to pick up a bomb, take it to the sea and then it would go right off 6 months before that, Right. Unless he was working with Bane and all this was just a plan for his disappearing. Cause He's Batman!!!

These movies will always be my fav comic book movies of all time
No body can ever replace this trilogy
A lot of people say that Talia's death is cheesy, fake, unrealistic, etc. I get it, I can argue how it could have been better but this is justified. Don't forget she was traveling at a decent speed and that was several tones of truck that fell down so the g-force would have been hellish. She died from bones splintering her insides and Internal bleeding... it's actually a pretty harsh way to go and it can take less than that to happen.
There was something that felt unnatural about her death.
Even tho he didn’t die but that part made me cry
Tallia: there’s no way this bomb will be stopped.
Batman: who said anything about stopping it?
