It’s the TRUTH about vigorous exercise. I was never very athletic until I bought a road bike and began riding with a group. From there I went back to swimming and got connected to a group that did triathlons. I’ve done two triathlons now! I’ve never felt so great or had so much fun. I love not only the exercise but the camaraderie! Have you ever noticed that athletic types seem more together or happier? It’s because they ARE! No room for depression when your pushing your body as hard as possible to break your own record and SUCCEEDING👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This is one of your best. Clear, concise help is what most CPSTD people want. It tracks with your practical approach - paraphrasing ' maybe a little less talk and a little more action" - this is suggesting what I should do. When you have CPTSD sometimes you want and need suggestions on what to DO, not solely what to THINK. Thanks Anna.

Balance! Pick 2 or 3 or 10 dreams hopes or goals, and passions, and interests. Follow them. Go to therapy, feel the effort that changing ones' personality from oppression to love it takes. Have 1 healthy friend, disregard and walk away from all the unhealthy ones. Be the one to stand up and take charge, not from a place of arrogance, but from a place of self defence, i am important. My loves, and goals, and dreams, are important. I will not treat myself with poverty.

One of my solutions (I have taught my children and many friends this) is to just say I’m grateful or thankful. When I see the trauma is winning, crippling, or paralyzing I start. Anything at all. I’m grateful for my home, thankful for my caring kids, grateful for the sun shining on my face. Its super simple, sounds stupid, but very, very helpful.

Fairly recently I started trying to hold my tongue when I wanted to say something negative, ask myself if there was anything positive about the situation I could say instead. I am getting better at this and it has had the positive side effect of making my love for my husband stonger. Anna is right, trying to be less negative about what you say does improve your mood.

I can definitely attest to the benefits of movement. I started doing yoga at home about a month ago and the rewards were such that I consider it a part of my regimen, like, “take medicine, do yoga”. Instead of feeling like exercise was separate from my mental health routine, it became part of it!
I also have chronic pain and chronic fatigue, to the point that my body always felt stiff and tired and hurting. Doing yoga reduced my symptoms significantly!
More protein also helped a lot with pain and fatigue. Every morning, I mix protein powder into my latte and include protein-rich ingredients in what I eat as much as possible.

8:40 This is, IMO, the single biggest reason people don't continue with meditation. I remember during a daily practice call I participated in a couple months ago, this woman was so angry and she kept saying she couldn't do it. Others, including myself, tried to gently explain that one doesn't have to be perfect or do it the "right way." All one has to do is sit with eyes closed for 20 minutes... That's it! Everyone can do that. But she kept getting angrier and angrier, feeling perhaps that she was the only one there struggling with meditation. It's such a mirror for me, because I've been there before (we all have). Taking the first step to healing requires we do things that are different, and even when they're essentially easy, it can seem like an impossible chasm to cross.

Wow. You're saving my life!! I never would have found the tools or words to explain it to myself let alone anyone else. My own mother destroyed my younger brother by getting him diagnosed with schizophrenia and then convincing another psychiatrist to sign a paper to his employer for disability. She then convinced my brother to open a joint bank account and began taking his money as he slid into drug addiction because of losing his job. She hid this from others and me until she got caught by me. He'll never be the same. I am strong for the most part, but I cry a lot.

Instead of writing which feels heavy to me like an assignment, I keep a small bag of soil and some little pots on the counter in the kitchen. I find that when I have my coffee and instead of anxiety, I get calm but planting, watering and spritzing my plants and enjoying my coffee. Then I power on my computer for work, look at my calendar then get in the shower and start getting ready and check email and just ease into my morning. I get work done and have meetings and go back to the plants outside, walk my dogs to stretch my legs but the plants are a meditation.

Good for ýou for not starting antidepressants. I also went and struggled with terrible depression pretty much from 17-27 maybe and all without drugs. Because of big pharma people are brainwashed into thinking that they absolutely need them. No. What people need is a good friend, learning how to be kind to themselves, learning to control their thoughts, and things like sleep, sunlight, quality foods with good fat, exercise and especially weight lifting, and gratitide.

I’ve been single for 11 years. Maybe a 7 month “relationship “ that was misery. Took me along time to just feel happy by myself. I was healing from my divorce, finding myself.. but miserable. Anyhow I broke through that somehow.. and still on a journey… got tired of feeling miserable in a relationship and out of one. Just do things. Exercise, eat healthy , have healthy ppl around. get into positivity. I’m not always positive but from where I’ve been …I can tell you it can get better… I think this is Ana’s message too. I look at her and I’m amazed. It can happen. You just have to manifest it.. get in a positive, healthy space.

Things that have helped the most is anything that requires stabilization. From doing push-ups on a yoga ball, animal flow calisthenics, mace swinging, club bells, battle rope, and my absolute favorite, splitting and stacking wood for my heat. I would say I am happier in a relationship than single, a good relationship stabilizes you and helps you navigate life difficulties better. It does not make you happier long-term if you are not fulfilled and satisfied inside. I could not get into a healthy relationship as long the focus was on having one at all cost and escaping my own depression and frustration in life. I found a lot of fulfillment during the corona epidemics doing a corona-tracking job and just hanging out with a group of singles

Thank you Anna! ❤Kindness is not weak, being and doing Kind spreads doing so does feel good and then everything changed for me, suddenly in a not so good way, i started noticing my kindness being neglected back & then began paying attention to each negative thing this other person was doing i was so deregulated for me. It must have been something deep inside of me that i was doing. ?? it made me hyper sensitive hyperfocused on really pointless things. Then i started to resent this person, making him feel bad because he was doing things specific to get ego boosts. Why was i so upset? It felt inauthentic and for me it was just a turn off and it felt misleading. We all NEED MORE JOY! not competitive agendas ❤🙏 Thank you for these loving life advice tips!

This was another wonderful video , thank you,I do some of these things in my routine these days already , I get up early take a , cold shower ( that's hard)😬)10 minute meditation , then. three mile walk with dog 23:01 sometimes the order changes , I then sit down write a list of my intentions for the day, and circle two to prioritize , If I only get one thing done , I'm ok with that, I don't I watch , read minimal news , and limit myself on social media , I work out regularly and try to eat more protein vs carbs , I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't speak or write negative comments about anything or anyone , no reacting ( that's hard) so negative energy, I'm trying to get involved in volunteering at a hospice and animal rescue , also every day I write 3 gratitudes in the morning and 3 before bed , I don't get this right every day , it's a work in progress , and I dont beat myself up about it if I dont , anyway I've seen a difference in my mood and perspectives going to keep going with it , I hope this helps some people

Most of the time, the following day is completely free of fear and I feel completely calm. To anyone who feels anxious or fearful much of the time: Give the Daily Practice a try.

love this thank you Fairy ..I think were all elves and fairies -- hiding away too ....In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions. When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?”

A lot of these I have commonly heard but what was helpful was your explanation of the benefits for example everyone says “go outside” but often I miss the caveat that you included of our mind wanting information that only the outdoors can provide. I get up at 4:30 am 5 or 6 days a week and take vitamin D and journal often and exercise occasionally. I am rarely resentful. I check my resentments often. I meditate in my own way for inner and. Yes, I am much less anxious. Going to see my counselor for a reality check next week. I don’t freak out about anything. I respond to people. I don’t react.

Thank you for discussing these areas, being easy to understand and offering helpful tips. I was very anxious a few weeks ago, about some new physical symptoms. So I continued my daily walks, but made some improvements: a more interesting route, increased to 30 minutes and going outside right after getting up earlier. This has made a world of difference in how I feel. Plus, I really enjoy it.

Maybe my comment will be relevant to at least one person. I underestimated the influence of my female hormones on my moods until I got a monthly tracker - this allowed me show myself some compassion when I was really, really struggling. More importantly though, when my eostrogen started to drop at around 40 years - I was completely and utterly blind sided. I now take HRT (which helps a bit). If a woman is to become an alcoholic, or take her own life - it is statistically more likely to happen at the time of the peri/menopause.

Hi! I just want to say while I don't look at your content as often as I should, I want to say really appreciate that input you have to give, especially as a fellow individual that has experienced childhood trauma.
I would like to give my opinion on what you had to say about the approach on dealing with stress and that in between message you are talking about that a lot of people do period I absolutely agree, it's not great if you just want an instant left or if you have a lot of stress in your life at the moment, that's not the right time to work on childhood trauma per se I mean I think it depends on the person and the situation, like I think of the person that's really deep in it, I think someone's bad coping mechanisms Could be deeply rooted in chalda trauma so I really think that it's actually really healthy to go through that it hurts before it gets better, and I think it only really is hard to go through if that's what you're thinking about. excuse me for this analogy, but think of it as when you have a really tough Bowel movement.
It's painful, it's aggravating, it's exhausting, for some people, they wonder when it's going to end, they're stuck on the toilet, they may be even sweating profusely they may be even embarrassed by the process they have to go through to be in less pain. ultimately though, they feel Lighter, more energetic, Calmer and happier Afterwards.
What I'm saying is, the thing is to focus on the good feelings during this allegory I'm speaking about and apply it to dealing with trauma.
I'm not trying to trample over what you're explaining and I think what you're explaining is amazing and great and works for many many people and I plan to hear of more what you have to say, because I believe I'm at the point where I get it we're in a lot of ways of altering my thinking in positive ways and I think that could benefit anyone, but I suppose that someone who has told a lot of the same things, Not to do this particular coping mechanism, which I wouldn't really call a coping mechanism but rather a means of healing, I just wanted to offer some extra insight on those points you gave about that particular method.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us, and I'm considering sharing this video with other people I know, since it seems that the whole world is under duress right now for a lot of reasons

Thank you Anna 🌻 I have such a list and I don't know what I would do without it.
My psychologist explained to me that the craving for carbs could also exist because under heavy stress our digestive systems shut down. So eating becomes a problem. At the same time we still need energy to keep moving. So, fast carbs are extremly easy to digest. This cleared things up for me so much.. as a child it took me multiple hours to clear my plate. I'd throw it out if the oppertunity was there. The cravings for candy were constant.

Hell yes - the last tip (about doing something good in secret) is spot on. I have to resist the urge to score Brownie points (always in high demand in my life) because I have noticed I don't respond well to feedback. Immediately, the good deed will get evaluated and quantified. It's value is so much more when it's just for me (when I, alone, know that it's me that's the Elf). I hope I never get cornered into disclosing it.
A regular, recurring good deed is an essential part of the soul feast. Don't get manipulated or hectored into giving it away.
I will say that you do need to exercise some discretion. The old woman that, ninja like, touched up that ancient church fresco (?Spain) - she thought she was doing a good deed. Maybe, leave the easel at home.

I'm going through so much for so long, I feel like I don't know what to do. I am worried about taking medications besides benzos (as needed, not every day, even though honestly I think I could take them every day, but I don't want to). I was diagnosed autistic and I just don't know what that means for me and healing. I don't know if all the same things that could work for others can work for me. I have a psychiatrist appointment coming up very soon and I'm wanting to see what they say. I just cannot get myself out of where I am. I obsessively think about the things that I cannot deal with, I wake up angry, I'm angry all the time and upset and can't even live my life. I get up early and I do journal, which helps so much. Exercise is sometimes, though I went for a walk a few times for 20-25 minutes and I felt a lot better and more clear headed. I think I just can't get myself to do a lot on my own. I did start doing yard work and that gets my heart rate up and my mind off things, which helps. I don't know what medications could be suggested to me, I really don't want to do antidepressants. I did try them once, and they made me gain weight. I had an easier time doing natural things. But past traumas are back because of the way my life has changed and I can't deal. I am hoping I can get the help I need to get myself back so that I can do the rest.

I understand anger being a point where you've had enough, and time for change.
It's awesome you've noticed how much better u feel after a walk or doing yard work. You're on the right path!
Daily movement practise of any kind is so great for the mind and moves energy around instead of being stagnant and feed shitty thoughts.
Regarding your appt trust your gut there and don't be afraid to say no or want a second opinion.
Ask them about alternative therapies other than drug therapy.
I've found creative art therapy so helpful when I was suffering with anxiety and Sui cide.
Bit by bit...you can't eat an elephant in one go.
Things take time...big hugs to you!
