  • The power steering has been leaking for while now. George has been collecting parts to convert it to electric power steering,Like the S2000.
    Pause the video as needed for the wiring pin outs.
    Hope this helps and gives you guys ideas.

    That's cool I have two 2003 hybrids with the electric power steering, I ran both cars well over 300.000 miles Never had a Single problem with this System from either car, both Cars are for parts only now, I guess I should pull both out and save all the necessary parts so others can Swap cars like You guys just did, Great Content this is why I watch you're Content 👍, From Wisconsin.

    Great video. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to open up the fuse box at 4:25. I think I might just use my RSX's (I scrapped the body, kept all suspension parts). Nearly all the fuses are the same as my ES1.

      Right but it's a tough engine if you change your oil often enough, Headgasket can be a problem after 200,000 But it's not a big deal to me as long as it wasn't overheated because the heads go bad quickly in high temps, I know because I had a radiator drain get broke off once running 75 mph down the highway after hitting some strange animal in the dark, didn't notice the water temp pegged out causing the head to turn into a Tato Chip 🧐. O and by the way it only had 115.000 miles on it when this happened I installed a good head and it didn't damage any of the cylinders dosen't burn oil even after running it out of coolant like this.

    • @averyalexander2303
      @averyalexander2303 Před 8 měsíci +2

      Not with the 7th gen rack, it's a totally different setup. As far as I know, the only way to convert a 6th gen or older to EPS is with an electric power steering pump, which defeats the purpose of converting in the first place.

    • @averyalexander2303
      @averyalexander2303 Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@haqitman You may be better off either deleting the power steering or getting a manual rack. I have no experience with the manual racks, but the 6th gens aren't that hard to steer with the stock rack and power steering deleted. I'm a smaller guy and I have no problem driving my EJ6 with the power steering pump belt removed. The 7th gens are a bit harder to drive without power steering, but still IMO manageable unless you are doing a lot of parallel parking or something.

    • @haqitman
      @haqitman Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@averyalexander2303 I've run w/o the PS belt, effort is about like a manual rack but response is sluggish. To go manual correctly you need a manual front sub frame since the man rack is a smaller diameter, kind of a big job. I may go this route but I'm getting older and having ps is nice. A drop-in elec rack with like 12:1 ratio would be sweet but I've not found such a solution. Appreciate the feedback!
