- In a bit of fun with the white board, I list the players who I believe have already done enough in their careers to warrant inclusion in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Let me know your picks in the comments section below.

Malkin is in the HOF if he retires tomorrow. 2 art Ross 2 Teds a hart a con smythe always a point a game and 3 cups
TheHockeyTalk THT don't forget Calder
TheHockeyTalk THT only one ted but yes
Tyler Falmer shut up loser
Second liner...
Just saying...
@@v4v819 I'm fairly late, but he's on the same team as Crosby
As a life long Fleury fan it stinks to see Ryan Miller at this point in his career wasted. He was SUCH a good goalie and use to steal games for Buffalo all the time. Miller was a better Goalie than Fleury but he just never had a team past 2007-08. It really stinks to see guys like him wasted.
Miller changed when Lucic ran him.
Chara and Patrice Bergeron should be on this list imo.
I too am a year late and asking this. He bring up Berg at 8:30 mark. Chara seems like a lock. He's been a shutdown defensemen for 20 years. I don't think you should have to be a two way player to make it in.
Chara should make the HOF the same way Scott Steven's did
I think personally if you think Kane, Toews and the Sedin twins are locks, I'd say Getzlaf is a lock too. 2 Olympic gold 1 Stanley cup (so far) lead his team in playoff scoring the year they won the cup too. Over 800 career points so far and 118 pts in 121 playoff games. Also, maybe the 2nd best setup man of this era behind Thornton. I think that warrants a HOF induction.
I'm so happy this channel is growing so quickly. I remember when i found this channel back in January have watched every video since. Congrats on your success.
Love ur channel! U deserve all the growth on ur channel! I've learned so much!
Bergy has 4 Selke trophies.....isn't that enough?
I'd include Hossa and Chara
Chara immediately came to my mind too. He's a Hall of Fame player.
Hosea, was a stanley cup regular. Good 2 way player.
As far as HOF entries, I use the same policy as my mom:
"Keep the dirt out of the Hall..."
I love this channel, I feel like it's a hockey history class
Jagr is on here for sure, same with a lot of the pens boys. Possibly Chara and Price.
I don't think he should be in yet but I could see other people saying it.
Envra Price, and King Hank for sure.
I feel like if you throw Hank in there you need to throw Timmy and Luongo with him. They were always neck and neck for who is the best around the lockout years.
Envra I agree. Hank is more consistent though, that's why I think he has more of and edge. Loungo for sure though.
Though I agree that they should all be in as they all made a new standard in the league.
No Marleau?
I have a lot of respect for this list. Nice vid!
I think that Chara will be inducted eventually, due to the leagues fear of him, being one of the few European captains to win a stanley cup, and his very impressive stats/norris. Also Bergeron will definately be first ballot with one or two more selkes imo.
What about Pekka Rinne? He's just too good right now.
urinatiingtree brethren!
if he wins a cup then maybe.
😂
After his Vezina and if this season is as good as the last, yes. Add 3 more starter years for good measure to be sure.
With Pekka I think the problem is inconsistency between seasons. 2 years he steals about a third of the games he starts in, and 2 years hes drops a handful of games. Then he goes back to Vezna. That would be the only thing I could think of.
How many more years does Price have to carry the Habs for him to get into the HOF?
Theodore isn't in.... Maybe the voters hate the Habs...
Idontwantyoutosee myrealname atleast a Stanley cup appearance should be priority right now instead of HOF
Him carrying them to nothing
Price has a Hart throphy... How many of those does Lundy have??? That to me is significant but out of the only 3 players not in the Hall that has the Hart... Two are goalies ...Theodore is one of those.
criddlexd they both haven't won cups and price got harts
Patrick Marleau?
Was thinking that, too
Nope
😂😂😂😂
Peter Lavillette? Took the preds to the finals. Took the Flyers to the finals after being down 3-0 in series against Boston in the conference finals AND won the cup with CAROLINA. He's gotta get a mention. He's very good.
Glad you said Hank, Pavel is without question
even a year later, this vid still holds up. I enjoy these kinds of vids rather than the daily stuff because i can go back and rewatch them
One year ago you were 900 away from 16000 subscribers? Your channel has grown so much and it's well deserved!
How about now!
Lundqvist fastest to 400 wins in terms of games played
Crosby
Malkin
Ovechkin
Jagr
Iginla
Thornton
Kane
Toews
Keith
Bergeron
Chara
Luongo
Kopitar
Doughty
Sedins
Lundqvist
Zetterberg
Datsyuk
This is just off the top of my head
Guys who could make it eventually as career goes on in no particular order:
Karlsson
Tavares
Stamkos
Backstrom
Price
Quick
Fleury/Murray if he turns out
McDavid* (Not gonna list any youngsters yet but this is a safe bet)
Subban
Getzlaf
Perry
Marleau
Coaches: Babs, Quenneville, Julien, Sutter, Hitchcock
Connor McDavid who knows? But yea I like Bergeron, Tied with Bob Gainey (hall of famer) in Selke trophies with 4, more points than Gainey too already. Junior gold, 2 Olympic gold medals, Stanley Cup, one of the best 2 way forwards in the game, great leader and still time to add to resume...I could see it eventually if not right away
Kyle Broflovski kane and Toews aren't HOFers
Kyle Broflovski what about holtby?
TheKillerSniperKid ∣ NHL 16 Yes they are, they wouldn't have named them top 100 all time (as ridiculous as the list is) if they weren't gonna be HoF, 3 cups, Kane is point per game, Hart trophy, Lindsay, Art Ross, best American ever. Toews, 2 Olympic gold medals and other iihf trophies, Selke trophies, nearly point per game, Elite two way center
Chum Chum Maybe, I think he still has a bit more to go, doesn't carry Washington for as long as others goalies have played
"Tane and Keows" xD
What about Big Z? Seems like he's more than deserving..
Glad to see you included Ovechkin in there. He is the best goal scorer of the modern generation no doubt. Although he doesn't have a cup (yet), he deserves to be in the HOF.
That comment aged like fine wine 💯
what about Big Z Chara
He should... he genuinely should.
I was gonna say. Big Z is definitely in the Hall.
Not should... He will be and a first ballot... The guy has been a beast. How many Norris Winners can you say can drop the gloves like he can and still manage to scare people on the ice during his 5 minute cool down...
why would they put a guy in the hof if he can't pivot
Bran Carp I genuinely feel awful for you Islanders fans, milbury traded luongo too. If you guys kept chara and luongo, and then drafted well you guys would've been a very dangerous team
I think Peter Laviolette is a HOF coach to me. He's has a Stanley cup as a head coach and has had a great NHL coaching career.
Claude Julien too... I think he is a HoFer... Twice in Montreal should almost make him a lock...LOL... You can't put Babcock and not Julien...
JOHN SCOTT?!?! how the hell can you leave that man out of this list?! INSULTING
Joel Emond he retired, this is only active players 😂😂
Don't worry, he'll get in soon
Tom Smith JOHN SCOTT IS FOREVER
He almost died
Fantastic idea for a video.
Getzlaf is an interesting pick . I hadn't considered him H OF, but why Not? Extremely talented, tough to play against.
OK, so before I get to my obvious omissions, I'll mention a guy whose name isn't synonymous with the LAK, and that's Vinny Lecavalier. At least he retired as a King. And do you not see him as a first ballot lock?
Patrick Kane can not stop being good even when he gets older he just keeps playing well and keeps putting up records and even when the Blackhawks got blown out he plays well
Lol
When are you getting your new International jerseys?
Not to take away from Duncan Keith (913 GP .513P/GP 3 cups). But to include him you also should give consideration to Weber (841 GP .577 P/GP), Chara (1300 GP and 1 cup), Burns(879 GP .567 P/GP) and Letang (603 GP ,640 P/GP and 3 cups). Karlsson is the #1 active Dman and a no brainer
As a Sens fan this may be a little biased, but honestly, his legacy could be lasting on the league for a long time.
Teams are already starting to value puck moving defenseman (Guys like Makar going high in the draft are proof). Before he came in, the whole league as in a fuss about how you need to be big to be a successful defender and he's completely turned that around and I think going forward, teams will be building around skill > size solely because people are waking up to how important a defenseman who can score can be.
you forgot about Patrick Marleau
I like your list for the most part. Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Jagr and Thornton are first ballot shoe-ins. No questions asked. I also think the three Blackhawks you mentioned deserve to be in on the first ballot. I also think Zdeno Chara deserves serious consideration: Stanley Cup Champion, Norris Trophy winner, one of the most feared players ever, playing over 20 minutes a game well into his 40s, still a captain.
I think some L.A. Kings also need to be considered. I wouldn't induct Brown, Carter or Richards, as good as particularly Brown is, but I would seriously consider Anze Kopitar and particularly Drew Doughty (at the rate Doughty has gone in his career, he's definitely HoF material). I'd give some consideration to Jonathan Quick as well.
Corey Perry deserves consideration if Getzlaf does too. And Carey Price of course deserves to be considered.
Im not whining or anything im just asking a question what do you think about the next level down guys like phil Kessel and what do you think they have to do to get into the hof
Awesome jersey/hat THG. Getzlaff is attached to corey perry so that could make or break him going into the HOF.
Mcdavid :D not enough evidence, but everyone knows its happening lol
Not only that probably induct him immediately after retirement. No wait, Ala Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux, Howe. Crosby too. No wait. These guys are generational players.Ovechkin to a lesser extent also.
Karlsson is a BEAST
I think Bergeron is a hall of famer for sure. You're right, maybe not right away but I think he's in. He racks up on Selkes, the best defensive forward in the NHL who gets good amount of points every year, and has a Stanley cup (who was also a major factor in the Stanley cup playoffs that season)
Waited long enough to put best player in world with crazy hardware on the list lol but whatever...malkin is for sure your right along with the core of pens of 3 cups u have up I think kunitz with 4 cups is in, letang with a few more great yrs is on the bubble....but murray is the weird one back to back and just a rookie....does he have to be better than average the rest of way? He is way better anyway then average...top 6 reg season his rookie yr. And top goalie in playoffs so...it don't matter in the end but neat to think if he retired from some health issue tomorrow
No arguments from me on any of those. Even the question marks sound fair. Good work.
I would thought to consider Getlaf, would also mean you would almost have to consider Perry. They both played a roll to the cup win in 07. Perry has also won the Rocket Richard trophy and the Hart Memorial Trophy.
If you put Ovechkin on there I would say Nicklas Backstrom is pretty damn close behind him if not already there.
THP Island
Man hell no, if Backstrom didn't have OVI backstrom would be a nobody. If Ovi didn't have Backstrom he would still be successful. Ovi made Backstrom kind of like how Gretzky made Kurri.
@@kozmeetorez kurri played amazing even without gretzky
@@wooz9991
I get that but he was never a 50 goal scorer without Gretzky. So Gretzky definitely elevated his numbers.
Your cat looks like a Penguins fan👍
I think Bergeron deserves more credit. Best defensive forward in the game today, and arguably ever. All while still putting up 60-70 points every season, besides this season of course, although he was battling an injury all year.
Wyatt YEG lol 4 selke's
lol of course he will. He's gonna get another Selke before he retires and possibly 2, the current holder for most Selke's IS bergeron. Best defensive forward to ever play hockey will make the HOF bud.
I think Niklas Backstrom is a sure fire hofer
What about general managers?
Patrik Elias bud. Best scorer (goals and assist) in Devils history, 2 rings, a better ppg than the twins (crazy), over 400 goals, over 1000 points, his defensive game was mostly solid as he was used in all type of situation with the team. He had a lowkey career, but that random 51 overall finished it second of all time in points for czech born player, right after Jarg himself.
Can the chosen one get a little love here Shannon? Don't mean to toot my own horn here but the record for most slashes taken by Phil Kessel in one game is held by yours truly.
Barry Trotz.....I think if you relook this now. He'd be in there. With his all time wins and now with winning a cup
Also I can see Kunitz in the hall, and Letang.
Randy Moser Kunitz??? Wtf
Not mentioned probably hofers right now: weber, chara, burns, price, maybe quick, maybe suter.
Could/should be hofers by end of career: mcdavid, eichel, matthews, stamkos, tavares, seguin, benn, tarasenko, holtby, matt murray, doughty, hedman, kopitar, bergeron, backstrom, subban, maybe kessel, maybe pavelski, maybe hall, maybe schneider, maybe bobrovsky
Im sure im missing a few more
Top Ten Underrated Goalies of the 21st Century
Bergeron a definite... 4 Selkes as of 2017 as the best Defensive forward in the league, 2 Cup appearances, 1 Cup Victory, one of the best, if not the best, face off men in the league, and around 60 points each year. Maybe not first ballot, but he'll definitely make it to the HHOF.
I agree with everything. Just to pick a fight, I would pick Iginla any day of the week over Ovechkin.
Here nearly 4 years later yh betgeron is DEFINITELY a hof
@thehockeyguy you should do NHL 18 Franchise mode as the canucks???? would love to see your rebuild
No Price for Hof considerations?
Sure HOF's: kopitar, doughty, quick, getzlaf, hossa, chara, price
Probable future HOF's: stamkos, kucherov, hedman, tavares, burns, tarasenko, benn, seguin, crawford, bergeron, backstrom
gonna point out i'm a hawks fan so clearly all biased aside
What about Elias? Surely being in the NHL for so long and having played a major role in the regular and post seasons, including 3 stanley cups. Also Price for being such a fantastic long term goalie.
You should do an updated list
Chara and Price - even though I'm a leafs fan gotta say those two deserve a spot on those lists. I think Hossa has to be up for consideration as well. The Sedins will make it but not as first ballet
You could be way more generous. 4 inducted every year. You put 14 ish guys forward. That covers 3.5 years of nominations on player that are in their late 20s to young 40s. Space for more. Got to mention SC winners Doughty, Kopitar, Quick, Chara, Bergeron (come on 4 selkes and counting) and more.
Patrice Bergeron is a hall of famer
Daniel Seyts Absofuckinglutely. Record in Selke wins.
If Thornton is in, Marleau has to be in. 500+ goals, 20 years with one franchise (I know he just went somewhere else). And I know I'm biased as an LA fan but Drew Doughty absolutely should be on here. Otherwise great list.
I know I'm late, but I would probably add Quick and Backstrom.
what about Marleau
Would a cup win seal the deal for Vigneault as a HOFer in your opinion?
Fuck yeah Zetterberg and datsyuk are hall of famers! Best duo in the league for a few years! - a drunk wings fan in Michigan missing the old days
Eric Staal? He might not reach 1000 points, but I still think he's HOF worthy. He's also got a Stanley Cup to his name
Age Of Enlightenment im a canes fan, and i think Staal in the hall of fame is an absolute joke. In my opinion Brindamour should be in over him
Do a video of mcdavid bs Crosby. Similarities passing more than shooting in early careers. Differences... etc
Corey Crawford the most underrated goaltender in the NHL #LetsGoBlues #WeWantTheCup
Not that I disagree with any of the names you picked, but you have to admit that all of them will make great press. Canucks fans will be super happy the Sedins get in, but there are better players that are still on the waiting list.
Agree with everyone on the list but Price has got to be there and I would say Holtby too.
What about Marion Hossa
Do a top ten contracts in NHL history and present NHL
Do you think Trotz has bumped his way from honourable mention to shoe in now that he has won a cup and taken NYI from worst to best goals against int he league?
Wouldn't mind a malkin, Crosby, Ovie HOF ceremony
Roberto Luongo, a hall of fame inductee. Drafted with a maple leaf draft pick. A pick traded t the New York islanders along with Kenny Jonson. A defence man who became an all star and the captain of the islanders. For a broken down Wendell Clarke, don’t get me wrong I love the way Wendell gave his all. Fletcher always talks about his trade for sundin. Never ever mentions that trade. I remember the knuckle heads like stormin Norman rumack and other Toronto tv and radio personalities all saying we needed Wendell back. Fletcher even said I did what the fans asked for when he announced the trade. Soon after Fletcher was gone from the GM job. Toronto press, tv and radio “personalities” are one reason ( there are many others) why Toronto has not even played in a final in the last 50 years. Never mind won a cup. Wendell lasted another two years. Not his fault his body could not deliver. But certainly the fault of the knuckle head radio pundits and sycophantic management.
Drew Doughty definitely should be in HOF. If Fleury goes in so does Quick.
Agreed, you can track whether or not the kings made the playoffs by looking at quicks injury chart.
Lol quick has been trash for years, fleury is still godly. quick will never be in the HOF
What about Corey Perry?,he's won a Stanley Cup,a Hart and a Maurice Richard Trophy,he also deserves to eventually be in the HOF. Bob.
Bob lol
Janet's my wife,I used her account to get on here. Bob.
Janet Sampson ahhh I see, seemed like you were signing off.. broadcaster style lmao
but corey perry is a puck hog as good as he is he's still not hof worthy
Getzlaf makes it but I'm a ducks fan. :)
Since you brought up Joe Thorton scoring 100 assists in a season if he played in the 1980's a good question would be how many goals/assists/ points todays stars would score in thr 1980's.
The big issue would be "would coaches know how to utilize an Alex Ovechkin" in 1980's hockey?
That said, if Ovechkin played on a team with a solid playmaking center or defenseman then barring an injury Ovechkin would easily score 70 goals a few times with an outside chance of breaking Gretzky's record for goals in a season. Put him on a line with a healthy Lemieux, Gretzky or Adam Oates and Ovechkin might hit triple digits in goals scored in a single season.
There is just no possible way that 1980's defensemen would be able to contain that combination of speed, strength and skill.
Jagr should've been inducted during his time in Klando. such a talent. he such be in the HoF while hes still paying, an exception to the rules need to be made here!
Patrice bergeron. Yes I am a boston fan. With that said made the team at 18, teows caliber I believe with those two switching teams Bergeron would have identical offensive #'s if not better. Face-offs he's better. And if chara wasn't basically contracted the captaincy, it would have been patrice.
Hossa should be in it
GodMetal if you would have watched till the end, he said he will, in his opinion, be in.
And for arguments sake and to show I'm not just a homer, Ryan miller!! ??? Thought on all three please. I know it's an old video! But I'd love to have this convo with you. ???
What do you think Boudreau would have to add to his resume to be considered? He has the highest winning percentage of any coach, would he have to keep that up for a number of seasons more or would he have to win a cup as well?
Patchy he said players
In the title
You should make another video like this but with guys that you think deserve to be in the hall but don't necessarily think will make it in.
If Zetterberg is going to the Hall of Fame then Getlaf, Perry, Kopitar, Bergeron, Marleau and Doughty will be in the Hall. Also for goalies you forgot Price, he's a goalie with a god damn MVP!
What about Marleau played most of career with San Jose and huge part of why that franchise has had so much success as a expansion franchise
Laviolette and honorable mentions to Boudreau and Torts. I think Bergeron has a higher chance than Getzlaf. What about Marleau? He and Thornton would maybe go in together that would be nice for the league. And I know its way early but McDavid is a shoe-in first ballot hall of famer
I honestly think that Bergeron should be on the board. I hate Boston but I love Bergeron. He’s too good! I would argue that if Gainey is in, then he should.
I think price is an Automatic
There is probably an easy way to determine which current players will make the HOF. Just gotta look at which ones were named among the NHL 100 Best Players of All Time and that gives you 7 right there, all of which you included in your prediction.
“Only get into the HOF if they win a cup”Alright boys sign kunitz up first ballot
yes getzlaf is a HOF
