That car has come a loooong way. Cant wait to see a 993 or 964 restoration after which you can ship it to me.
991 Turbo is next, obviously.
Only 991 for me is a GT3! I just can't do automatics
That would be sick too
@matt13ross no worries 993 and 964 were mostly manual 😉
@@matt13rosskeep either the 996 or 997 turbo as your drivers car (I'd do a rwd conversion on the 996 and keep it) and then get the 991 turbo as your max performance car hitting up SRM for their 1000hp kit.
that bumper just transformed the whole car completely!!!! it looks amazing!!!!! 😤🔥
I think after the third coat of stripper I would have been buying a new bumper. I appreciate your perseverance
Used ones are $500 ish without shipping and would still need work. Trust me I debated it lol
Best rebuild series on youtube
Too kind, thank you!!
Matt, you are definitely in a very small group of CZcamsrs that I hit the "👍🏼" before I watch anything! Another phenomenal video!
I appreciate that a lot!
A tip with paint stripper is to cover it with plastic so that the vapor stays, it works a lot better 😊👌
Is it just me, or do a lot of the strippers these days soften up the plastic more than they remove the paint?
@@fundamentallybroken4194yes it is in the category ''they don't make them as they used to''.The old stuff just works better
Thanks.for the tip!
Ross weekend uploads are the best.
The German-style techno while you were sanding had me chuckling 😂 your content is coming along great bud, good work 👍🏼
Matt, you are nailing it again! Fun video and that front bumper with those Rennline pieces…oh man!!!
A thought about the brakes - if something was wrong with the assembly of the master, or if you had a pedal stop set too deep the brakes would ratchet on like that. I suppose abs pump could be a culprit too. At any rate calipers are fine as it releases as soon as you bleed that trapped pressure. You'll have to show us when you do sort it out.
Always a good day when Matt drops a video! That vent template fro the bumper is pretty slick!
Wow what a mess. Congrats to the finished product though!
Now that car looks so cool with the cut in the bumper
Awesome work, Matt! The car is looking fantastic. Really enjoying this series!
Go Job Matt! The secret is you had Supervision! (the lil guy in the early parts of the vid) It's cool to see little people participating with things like this... #NotaVideoGame!!!
Very true!!!
Great job on the bumper. Love the GT3 kit and design of the modification and installation. Really went in well. You’re doing an excellent job.
Thanks! 👍
This gets better every episode. Love that Rennline kit. Stripper Matt was funny, thank goodness for pixel blurs 🤪
Babe, wake up. Matt Ross uploaded.
Can’t believe this is the same car 😮. I’m an ex automobile electrician and that wiring was even daunting for me 😂
Great work. So close now. Good luck with the brake diagnosis and fix. I am looking forward to the day you get new tires on it.
awe cute you made it a smiley face!
Did you try glass cleaner though??
You know he did😅
Oh I found it @11:15
DUH I did guys!! lol
Another successful video, and still the best project on YT!
Thanks so much!!!
I’ve always liked that front end, nice lip spoiler !
I have just binge watched the whole lot and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Makes me think about trying it myself. 🛠️
Can’t wait to see the next instalment.
Thanks for watching it all!! Now check out the 996!
As long as the look goes in the GT2RS direction, it's not ruined.
Probably a bit late now but maybe a soda blast would have been a better way to strip that bumper. Lookn sweet though.
More progress! Love to see this happening, Matt!
Again, I can't help myself, your editing makes your videos even more fun to watch!
Oh, and stop walking around naked! 🤣
I didn't. Good idea though!
That's my editing goal, make them entertaining!
@@matt13ross LOL!
@@matt13ross It works really well! I can barely comment without noticing the effort you're putting into the editing - always well done!
I'm new here, just got on board with the blown up m3 and have been watching back a few projects but the sound levels are insane. It goes from basically silent to full on Sat night rave party (yep I'm old). Maybe even that out a bit?? Just because it's loud doesn't mean it's dramatic.
Hrm. When I edit it they all sound pretty even to me? In fact whenever I import music, I automatically reduce the volume by about 6dB
When are you installing frunk/hood struts so you can stop using that pipe to keep the hood open? 😛
But seriously. Amazing work. Been so cool to see this thing come together. The finish line is near...
Whenever I find them lol
looks good love the 997
I hope you don't regret that carbon fiber lip. That lip is typically considered a disposable part because it scrapes so often. Most people have the standard flat black plastic lip because of that. Cheap replacement
Only one way to find out lol
@@matt13ross lol. I really hope you don't end up scraping it but I have scraped mine trying to leave parking lots while going as slow as possible at an angle.
It's not like they scrape away after a few weeks. Just gotta drive slow over unknown bumps. XD You can also use "L Shaped Car Door Edge Guards - 18 FT Car Door Edge Protector" on the lip and scrape that instead. Get a few extra years out of it.
@@adidasman12 mine has plenty of scrapes on the bottom side of it. But mine is just plastic and not painted. With the carbon fiber and clear coat on it scraping it can spread beyond just where it scrapes.
Great work brotha
Omg I have to do this next week to my Porsche. Thank you
I love this build.
Hi Matt, as always!!!!!!! Awesome content keep it up, I love the porsche
WoW , good job Matt
MATTHEW!! 3:39
Sehr schön!
I'm sorry you had to buy a sander, it's almost a phobia of mine.
urethane stripper specific apply then large plastic covering wrap it
Looks awesome!!!!! I can’t wait to see it next weekend.
Hahaha yup
Once again an amazing video and some peak comedy this one :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Matt!
Is it possible to install the mesh grill kit without removing the horisontal vent covers in the bumper? Could only see it on Rennlines website without the original horizontal vent covers on the pictures
Hrm. That I'm not sure about, sorry! You'll know when the bumper is back from paint and I do the full install though.
There is a kit that doesn't require removal and then the rest do require removal.
I was totally with you until the red 1K glazing putty…NOOOOO! that is not catalyzed and won’t hold up.
3M? It says it's good for bumpers?
@@matt13ross I’d chat with your paint and bodywork guy! I’ve used a dolphin glaze before and it has a hardener you mix in…or there’s a new UV cured 1-part glaze.
I agree if it's the old lacquer based stuff. Too stiff for a urethane bumper.
I also agree with Scott_Meyer72. I use Dolphin glaze. Smooth as your girlfriend's bottom. 😊
997.1 turbo is my dream car. The only thing I don't like is the upper vent I just think a mesh vent would look more modern. But that of course is a personal choice.
Sell you my speed yellow 997.1 turbo making 750hp for a good price
Well done man, very patient on this bumper.... i hate bodywork !!!
I hate it too! Lol
Love getting inspired for my 2 Porsche projects watching your videos mate. Any advice for a newer CZcamsr?
Don't make boring videos! Keep them fast paced and fun!
Its really getting close to completion. You thought of doing a 997 GT2 style front lip and front flares to tie in the big wing?
Nah just not worth the work IMO.
Wow... that looks like a total PITA! I have old PPF on my front bumper and I really don't want to touch it now.
Don't touch it!!! Lol
Looks awesome. Drop the car off to AIM performance once it’s running for a final tune and dial in. You won’t be disappointed.
Marksi will probably be tuning it!
@@matt13rossgreat decision.
Can’t wait to see the rims you chose for it
I can't wait to figure that out! Lol
@@matt13rosson your 996 you went with pretty expensive wheels if I remember correctly.
If you aren't looking for peak performance (running lightweight wheels as wide as possible) and have a big budget like the 996....I highly suggest checking out augment wheels turbo twists in 19"!!! They are arguably the best looking wheels I've ever seen on the 997 turbo. Same design as the OEM 996 turbo twists but they are 19" and wider with a concave style in the rear. Sooooo pretty. But they are not lightweight.
If you are looking for performance and a great price I highly recommend forgestar wheels.
Whatever you decide id recommend 9" wide on the front and 12" wide on the rear. Might be a good idea to lightly roll the fender lip before you complete the body work. Just a light roll to reduce the amount the lip sticks out
I don't want turbo twists because I have them on my 996 though I love them!
I'm thinking more of a track looking wheel for the 997.
@@matt13ross gt3 and gt2 wheels are an option but expensive lol. Personally I love my forgestar cf10 wheels. Super affordable and fairly lightweight... lighter than stock even though my wheels are wider than stock. Forgestar does custom offsets for whatever you need for your car too so no spacers.
@@matt13ross I really like the Rotiform and Fifteen52 wheels these days…BBS of course for the right price
I would love to know if there is anyway you could figure out which PPF that was... if it can withstand that chemical attack it seems it would hold up for yearrrrrrs.
Not a clue! It's plenty strong though lol
Why do they call it “Paint Protection Film”
When you have to ruin the paint to remove it?
Same with Wraps
Yup!!
Hey Matt, did you think about taking that bumper to a media blaster to remove that PPF? You have a lot of patience 👍🏻
I didn't. Wonder how that would effect the plastic?
@@matt13ross there are different types of media you can use to remove what’s on the surface. You should check it out some time. 😁
Maybe next time lol
Would sand blasting/media blasting have been the way to go?
Not sure with plastic. Maybe?
ur channel is a lil nice gem on youtube!
I appreciate that!
What Kind of coating and glue stuff did they put on there....
PPF
The stripper part made me laugh twice 😂
That was my goal lol
I notice less use of your giraffe power washer. How is it holding up for you. How is their vacuum setup?
I used it in this video haha. Love it! Vac is great too!
i have feelings for that carbon fibre front lip 😭🔥
What's worse? Waterboarding or old PPF?
PPF lol
PPF suppose to protect paint lol
Yup lol
2, yes 2 oh ya 2 tow hood covers please.
Tow hood cover?
Did you think of media blasting. Just a thought
Nope. Might have been the move though.
people should stop putting on ppf etc. what's worse, natural road rash or a yellowing ppf that ruins the paint when you goto remove it.
I'm starting to think the same thing
I don't have a Porsche, but Renline products seem extremely good quality 🤔
That sure are!
The stripping part had me 🤣🤣🤣
That was my hope lol
Awesome work, as always. I have to say, aside from the elbow grease and project results, the humor of the “stripper” jokes and such definitely have high entertainment value!😂
I try and keep them interesting,Thank you!
Wouldn’t it have been much quicker and cheaper to sand it?
Ever try sanding PPF? Lol
Car looks great content funny interesting sharp …👍👍👍🇬🇧🙏
Thank you!
Upgrade the steering wheel to 991 one
In the plans!
991.2, macan, 718 using the most recent steering wheel is my favorite
Matt starting his Onlyfans account🤣🤣🤣 Great video as usual bro😎🤙
Hahaha
PPF your car they said. It will protect the paint. They said.....
Make me re-think using it in the future!
🙌💥💯🔥” keep moving forward “😅😂😂
Not sure why, but I love watching you suffer through these things 😂
It's just one big long suffer lol
Mr Matt is nothing to sneeze at 👍
Why not sand it
Tried sanding the PPF. It did not work lol
Damn!! Rennline has really thought of everything!! Cool mod....and for a second, I thought I subscribed to Matt Ross only fans😂NO DIDDY
Hahaahaha. Rennline is the best!
matt stripping paint while stripping hahahahah
It was a two for one special lol
It's a shame that you let the paint stripper run into nature typical America
Whole lotta stripping going on!
Oh yea!
Bless you!😂
Thank you! lol
what the hell Matt 😂😂😂
View 358 12 minutes in 😂
I gave this video a thumbs down.
Why?
