- Quick update on what we got done this week also a visit from @CleetusM to do a test fit to make sure there is enough headroom in "Eagle". Plus some clarity on what is and isn't titanium on the build!!!

Never had to fit someone this big in a race car 😅. Thanks everyone for following along. Merch is live on the site. Cjracecars.com
Shoving a giraffe in a 69 camaro lol
Great work yall are killing it! Hope this build makes your channel boom!!
It is frustrating that this project cannot afford the cost of him putting on a suit/helmet + a layer of temporary foam so there is no wondering how high it will be later.
@@V0S1N0 he has more than enough room now. If it was close we would 100 percent check before moving forward.
Being a gentleman of considerable height *I'm 6ft5 and a long upper body* I can appreciate the problems you guys are having, it would probably be worse with me fitting the seat.
Came here because of the cleetus video, subscribed because you guys are top notch! Can't wait to watch the Eagle run 5's!! Great video keep it up
Thanks for the sub!
Same here. Now I have a new channel to watch. These guys are the best. Instant sub.
Gonna be odd watching it run slow runs in the 6s while the boys dial it in. lol... You wanna bet they hit the .00 wall for a while? It was fun seeing them stuck at 10.0 and 9.0 and 8.0 and 7.0. Looks like a 6.0 wall is inevitable ;)
Same
Same! One of the best parts is the blatant honesty, transparency and “it is what it is” tone from ya boi with the clean cut
Cleetus has left the building and all business Garret in deep thought. Safety is the main priority. That man knows what he wants. CJ Race Cars deals with the first Floridian Swamp Giraffe in history. 😂😂
I like how you answer people's questions. Understanding they don't know all you do so answering respectfully. Also nice seeing the detail work on the chassis.
Love what I do and it’s cool seeing other people interested in it also.
Mr Seat Man does NOT look happy 🤣
Exactly what I thought 😂😂
I reckon
Cleetus is paying for this lol. Gotta be able to fit. Still… I’m sure it can be frustrating.
I can look unhappy when I'm in deep thought... Lol. That was the case at that time. Sorry , I'll work on it 😂
@@user-wf2bs2nj8v Even if you felt a little frustrated, thats okay man, that is the nature of the business. And Garrett is an anomaly in how tall he is, and also how much head clearance he wants. In my opinion, I feel like the current setup was more than enough and Cleetus had plenty of room, but its Cleetus car, and if he wants it lower, and it can go lower, thats what has to happen. 😆... I cant lie, I would have probably been a TAD annoyed, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. I know you have put a lot of work into it.
I work for a top fuel team. Our seat is held in with dzus fasteners. Good enough for a 300+ mph car, good enough for Eagle
It would probably be fine with no fasteners. The harness does all the work. The seat is just a little cushion between the driver and the cage.
@@mckrackin5324 They hold it in while you try and get out.
@@mckrackin5324 Harnesses don't do all the work. They contain certain parts of the driver in certain directions, but the seat does much more. In a car like this, where the seat is a tub contained by tubing, it works. In the case of traditional "upright" seats that aren't contained by the chassis, a few .080" (maybe less? I don't recall the wire diameter of dzus springs) and a few little buttons are not enough. They just aren't. I see people apply this "dzus logic" to seats where it doesn't apply (even some very talented racecar fabricators that we may be watching) and put drivers in harms way. Enough sprint car drivers ended up outside their cars in the 80s that people realized the obvious. One way or another, the seat has to be contained. If you need a source, I've crashed the f* out of a lot of racecars in a former 18 year career as a driver, and spent my over the hill lifetime around career racers (not just drag racers, whom aren't in the habit of crashing very often). I've also been a racecar fabricator in USAC, NASCAR, Indycar, SCCA, NASA, NHRA, and several others for the last two + decades. Harness do what they do, seats do what they do.
@@russellharper3027keep in mind this will be a carbon bucket with a form mold seat like formula and nascar cup now runs. Not a run of the mill kirkey. I don’t know what difference this makes ?
@@russellharper3027 We're talking about this type of car specifically.
CJ race cars are widely known for making some of the nicest chassis cars out there. That didn't happen by accident. Y'all put in the work to earn that reputation. Glad to see y'all getting more exposure with this Eagle project.
I was waiting for you to tell him amputation with titanium prosthetics was the next step. Nice work 💪
😂
I like how CJ keeps referring to ride height in reference to crank centerline
Dude knows what works, it’s all in the angle of the dangle
There is a reason cleetus trusted y'all to build this car, quality is second to none and it shows.
Thank you for including us on this journey. Very good video.
It’s gonna be hard to squeeze a giraffe in there, but I’m sure y’all can do it🤣🤣🤣🤣🇺🇸👍
I think CJRC has built the best looking drag car of all time. When they built Monza’s Chevelle. That has to be one of the best looking cars he has ever built. Cleetus is going to have a badass race car when Cameron and his crew is done.
yeah that is a sexy car. I have a screen shot saved in my phone of it Lol
Monzas car is probably the best chassis car in the world just beautiful and functional
Sir you explain everything to your audience with patience to educate us in the build process.. Not too many folk do that.. Im sold on your channel !!!
🙏🏻💪🏻
I’m already looking forward to the next seat height measurement video 👍
💪🏻
Cleetus has a very loyal following - you either build everything on point, or someone is guaranteed to call you out... only the best!
Yup
CJ is always ‘on point’ regardless of who the customer is. He builds some of if not probably the nicest and safest cars out there. Anyone who has the audacity to ‘call him out’ better know what the F they’re talking about 😊
And they probably have no idea how to build a car. Let the professional do what he does people
Cleet is a good sport about asking for what he wants/needs. CJR are good dudes for making it happen!
He’s definitely not like Duckstrom. Garrett has a lot more class and respect for others.
You guys are killing it. Eagle might be done before LeRoy's body!
Gotta echo the Cleetus crew, Its his influence that brought me here. However, I'm here for this channel. The detail and knowledge on display is crazy! I',m excited!!! Dont Rush it! Do it right!!!
Cleet has two new children. I think he's finally thinking ahead about safety and getting home from a race. Nothing wrong with that.
I’m so glad cleetus came to guys to get this car built
For a lot of guys, "Illegal and Expensive" is part of the fun!
True lol
Smokey Yunik said it best, if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying…
Clicked fast on this one, I've been watching old videos of y'alls all day lol
Cleetus has been fitting himself into cars for most of his driving life, now a car that's fit to him, {do you guys do airplanes? no, too bad} I look forward to when the Eagle is done and someone else sits in the Eagles seat and can't see over the dash. your crew is killing it keep up the good work!
Really liking your videos Cameron. Concise and to the point, no fluff and great explanations. Just grabbed a shirt thank you for sharing the build!!
Sticking a Giraffe inside an Eagle is a straight-up magic trick. You guys seem up to the task! Also, I'm blown away by the speed at which you guys work.
Luv the welds,nice'n' clean!
Cleatus is a tall bugger,eh? 😆
Nice to see how these race cars are put together...
Lookin great guys....
Thank you
As a military veteran with a former three second life expectancy - I love the 'No Nonsense, Straight Forward, Master of Craft' attention to detail! These aspects really come through in the video.
Before anyone asks. Frontline Demolitions etcetera. These guys know what they make could get someone killed in three seconds. They're serious. Just who you'd trust with yer life.
Man those tube fit ups are “chefs kiss” perfect. I used to help make roll cages here in Australia. Beautiful work guys, absolutely world class
It's so cool to see the process. It's awesome to document the build, because once she's a full time race car most of this won't be known to new viewers.
I love how you guys are safety prioritized. Making the fastest and SAFEST stuff out there. Incredible
When Cleetus's channel was first starting out, it was him, James and Cooper. I always thought Cooper was short. When I found out Coop was over 6 feet tall in real life, I thought, just how tall is Cleet? I can imagine stuffing him in something that's not an El Camino can get tricky.
Also, titanium. When I was young, my friend was big into 410 Sprint cars. I remember him buying a bolt pack for his car and it was $13,000. That was with bare minimum spares. A lot of the bolts were even hollow. This was in 1991 or 92. I can't imagine what you guys spend on hardware nowadays. Funny thing, this friend is the same height as Cleet. 6'6". Stuffing him in a Sprint car was tough. Lots of custom stuff.
James came a bit later. It was basically just Cleet and Coop. He bought Leroy and worked alot with Fasterproms, which is where George came from
@@brandosti8809 Yeah, I know. It all happened fast back then though. I subscribed for the turbo whistles in the C7 exhaust btw. lol
Damn am i glad that most series finally outlawed the drilled out bolts they were a pain to keep a eye on making sure they didn’t crack especially the titanium ones they were damn near hit a good rut or make any type of contact and you just automatically replaced every bolt in that corner of the car
@@54raceman Not to mention that it cost about $2500 to lose a pound. The safety concerns weren't worth the tiny gains (or losses).
Sprint cars and late models are where its at. I live in PA very close to many of the great tracks in this state.
Some of Yall making comments really need to think before you hit send, these guy's didn't start building race Car's last week, do you really think they would build a Car that isn't safe, if they needed Garrett to have his suit and Helmet at that fitting they would have told him, there is another Process for fitting the seat that goes inside the tin seat, its in a bag and they pour a substance in the Bag and he has to sit in it with his suit and Helmet on it forms around him, some of these statements you might think they never did this before, they build some of the safest and nicest Car's in the Country, stop talking like you know more than they do.
Right? They’re talking like it’s his first build. He’s the best in the business and cuts no corners nor takes any chances.
Good for all of you guys ! I love seeing your subscriber count go up! Keep it up fellas!
The onboard from the into looks fun and violent all at the same time!
Good collab they went from barely 10k views to over 200k with the cleeter crew. Great job team.
I love how your videos are short and sweet with no outro, I never realized how much I miss low production videos.
Can't wait to see this absolute unit running 5s cleetus could not have chose a better company and team to build him an absolute ripper yall got a subscriber for life
Thanks for the sub 💪🏻
The work you guys put out is top notch. Thank you for sharing this with us
I've been here since day one of your channel and I'm happy to see you're finally getting the eyes on you that you deserve keep killing it bro
Thanks for following 💪🏻
Don't know what impresses me more, the skills to build that beast or your haircut.
Someone does a wicked good cut. 💪💯
So nice to see a chassis builder upfront honest and respectful. Well done.
Damn, it’s pretty incredible to see the welds you guys lay down. There’s zero discoloration from the heat fluctuating. Freaking badass.
Great looking work, gentleman. Hell ya Brother.
Thank you 🙏🏻💪🏻
I can't WAIT to see this beast done.....
Thanks for the updates... going to be EPIC
Nice to see two adults figuring things out and treating eachother with respect. Ive seen CJ have to put up with some big babies who demanded special treatment 😉. Nice to see mutual respect.
I know exactly who you’re referring to and couldn’t agree more 😉…classless vs. class act.
I hope some of the new viewers cruised this channel and watched some of the other builds from previous years. Nothing but top shelf stuff.
It’s amazing seeing all these new people because of the Cleet but the og among us know you’ve been building these insane chassis for a while and this is just another on the long list of (soon to) win cars.
I really can’t wait to see this car finished and y’all do an amazing job
This is gonna be sweet!!!
I can't wait to see it done. I know if Garrett picked you guys to build the car it's gonna be awesome. Subscribed👍
Thanks for the sub.
Thanks for sharing with us. Very exciting!
Thanks for the build details & the explanation.
Nice equipment and Quality Work!
Hell yeah brother!
Great information ! Keep the updates coming. Thanks.
Yall do some fantastic work guys.
Excellent work man
In a lot of open wheelers they don't bolt the seat in, it's just on some locating features and held in by the driver being belted in.
Man, these are some great videos. Great insight. Keep them coming pls! I’ll watch every one.
Can't wait to see the final product.
Good ol Cletus gave these guys almost 30k in new subscribers
I noticed the same thing . The page is worth the time though very well presented . Now I see why Tye is so damn good coming from this shop prior to joining Cletus .
Glad to see you uploading again. I do appreciate the info and tech on the moly and titanium stuff.
Awesome video guys!
Looking good guys. ❤️
Thanks for the time you take to explain everything, what a superb shop
Y'all guys do awesome work !!
Sure is looking good, can't wait for the next vid...
Thanks for the explanation! I like the way you describe things, it flows very well!!
Damn man you guys are killing it! Great work.
WOW you people do an incredible amount of work. WOW! good work!
Fine looking operation you're running there. I'll keep watching
Challenging!! Cameron and the guys eat it up💪🏻 CJRC#1
Your channel seems growing bigger and bigger !.👍Please say hello to Eddie !😄
Hell yeah!!!!
I can't wait to see it done.
God bless yea all! Good luck with the build!
Man i can't wait to see this thing as the build continues. Yall do some fine work for sure!
Great looking work lads. Your attention to detail is amazing.
Great video, driving position is crucial and now is the time to get it as good as you can, I watch a lot of youtube shop videos and the one thing I've noticed about your shop is the lighting, the shadows are very sharp - like you have powerful lighting but not enough, better lighting would improve the film. Looking forward to this build.
respect to the guys building that thing and making it look easy.
Loved the sound of the new microhone
Great video. The mic is a huge improvement! Any chance can you equalize the audio a little? The music is much louder than the rest of the audio
I swear the level of detail is amazing
I could learn all day from you big dawg!!! I knew Tye had an awesome background and seeing the quality you guys produce, I can definitely see where he learned it from!!! Keep it up!
the giraffe needs all the room he can get lol
Facts
Love the work and attention to detail! Always wanted to get into fab and now I can see why Tye works to such a high standard. Keep the vids coming!
Damn Cleetus is a big giraffe! Car is 107% race car!! Holy cow I didn’t realize that there was only an absolute bare minimum of “stock” sheet metal. And that’s just skin. Really cool to see what is done for a drag and drive to be as fast as it possibly can. You guys must be building some of the lightest purpose built race cars! Damn nicest I have ever seen built on you tube. Most don’t understand the difference of a chassis built car compared to a production car cut and rebuilt as a race car but this video really showed the difference. I didn’t know how much of a difference myself. I have seen built cars but yours definitely one of gge best if not the best!! IMPRESSIVE!!
Looking forward to seeing the engine choice he made
😎
i like it, looks good! cant wait to see it done
Kinda shocked that you didn’t give him 💩 about it taking too long 😂
This video is a great balance of technical really nice race car stuff
The fab quality is amazing.
Man, you guys have all the cool tools.
I can't wait to see how this thing turns out.
Geeze it's amazing how the body is mounted!
1:14 Homeboy almost lost that burger. Top-notch shop like this can't be cutting corners on those flips!
🧑🍳
New favorite channel!! I gotta watch more of your videos!
Thanks for following 💪🏻
CJR,y'all rock! Peace
I can’t wait to see the finished product! I know I will enjoy watching the build, you guys must be the Best if Cleetus picked you!!!!!!
Love these videos
