That is absolutely the right attitude to have when it comes to safety with the driver compartment - "There's a lot of places we can save a pound, but the driver seat isn't one of them". Having a car that goes this fast is just a completely different level than a 10 sec drag car or even an 8.50 cage. The forces that unfold when one of these cars crash at 220+ are just insane and you have to account for that when you build the foundation. It's great to know you stand firm on the thicker tube as a matter of principle. This cage is a work of art.

I've said once before here on this channel and it seemed to cause alot of controversy but the quality of engineering done at BLISTERING speed is jaw dropping to watch. Absolutely incredible and a testament to their abilities. It feels really good to see these videos come out because I had so many people tell me I was wrong about Garretts new car that he was building to replace Mullet. It's pretty much the only way forward. He was literally competing with pro mods. Now Garrett can not only compete but WIN! You all know how competitive Cleetus is. lol he will race you in ANYTHING. This car will be on the road in no time. I bet it will be done before his helicopter is finished. So cool to watch this process and to know that his competition is probably watching the build process too and thinking oh no I may have to build my own or back out lol.

Really amazing to see all this progress and accompanied with a great explanation as to why the cage is built the way it is. Also I think it is great how you try to make it as beefy as possible to protect our boy Garrett and other drivers to keep them as safe as possible! Really enjoy the content and look forward to the next video!

once again... all those "simple" bars to install. Danny really knows his sheeeet. I think it's great to show these cage builds in this deep detail to help people understand the intense amount of work and thought that goes into making functional artwork. Seriously amazing tube work you guys do.
I'll email you over a pic of a full cage I built for my '39 Topolino.. all with a hand bender... (hand benders are something you only need to experience ONCE)

I've seen a lot of top cars and builders over the years and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Danny is the best chassis guy period. These CJ chassis are not just safe and functional, they are beautiful and artistic. Resale on a car built by Danny and Troy must be the best too.

With the cage in the rear view mirror… who knows what power plant combination is going to propel this Johnny to 5 second passes? SMX? Pro Line? Noonan?
