If Cloud could learn to pull levers and push buttons faster that would be ideal
While he's at it, maybe he can start using those super hero abilities to climb a little faster too : )
@@drumjodand a way to drop down quickly when climbing
I don’t understand why he is so slow picking up the chocobo signs either. It should be a tap instead of holding the button
Some of the minigames are painfully slow

I can live with the graphical compromises, what’s bugging me is the sound/volume inconsistencies in surround sound channels. Half the time NPC’s and incidental world sound effects are much louder in the side and rear channels, and some dialogue in the front channels gets buried. I have a fully calibrated AVR and other games and movies behave properly, but the surround sound in this game is a mess at times, which is a shame because when it works, it works well. The helicopters buzzing over Kalm were buzzing overhead in my Atmos height channels, but running through the world, characters behind the screen are about 10dB louder than those in front of it. Also, in places like Gold Saucer, the incidental music near the entertainers in costumes or radio broadcasts can’t be heard when facing them but if you turn the camera away from them the music is quite loud when it’s behind you. It’s very distracting and immersion breaking when you’re running through a town and move towards things fairly quietly but they become loud as you pass them and move away from them. It’s the same with that metal band rocking out in the dust bowl area, quiet when you face them or move towards and loud when you turn the camera away from them or move away. I really hope they can patch the sound.
Sound inconsistencies like this happened in Remake as well and I'm 99% sure I played that one with all of my settings set to stereo since I didn't have a surround system back then (except some headphones that claim to have 3D audio.)
The game doesn't have a specific 'surround sound' output option in the audio menu, so I've been assuming they didn't deliberately tweak the audio to correctly output in surround sound. Even in occasional cutscenes (side quests iirc such as one of the grasslands protorelic quests) the characters dialogue is barely audible over the music, which makes me think they probably didn't normalize all of the audio (dialogue vs music for example) to be consistent throughout the game.
What's been bothering me more though is that exploration music is usually less than half the volume of battle music. I've got every available setting set to 'night mode' and set to reduce the difference in volume levels on my setup, but the game still blasts some music and sounds way louder than everything else. I kept adjusting the eq and settings on my sound system so that exploration music would sound perfect, only to be ear blasted any time a more action filled moment occured.
I'd imagine that game developers make the volume levels really dynamic like that to increase the feeling of intensity in battles, but come on. I feel like an option to keep the sound levels more consistent should be included. I have all the game volume levels set to default except I lowered the sound effects. Still absolutely loving the game though. All my complaints pale in comparison to how amazing my experience is with Rebirth.
I just wish you could mute all NPCs without a name. Costa Del Sol was my personal hell. I couldn't hear my internal monologue over all that bloody yammering, I eventually gave up and muted all voices/dialog until the game let me out of that hell hole.
Only complaint I have as well. I run performance mode and very rarely notice any issue. But then again I'm a 90s gamer, so I'm really not bothered if graphics and frame rate aren't perfect.
That quest of meeting the "merc" (Kyrie?) the music went into full blast mode while she was talking at the leaking pipe... yeeeesh.
They wont fix that its even in 15 something is off about the audio
A 40FPS VRR mode, for 120Hz displays, would be really great
This! A 40 FPS Fidelity mode and a HFR Performance mode both utilising 120Hz / VRR displays is what I was hoping for, ala first party titles like Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank etc. Maybe that's too difficult in UE4..? 🤔
Yes, pretty please CBU1!
ye , for making a game specificly for the ps5 hardware they should have really gone the extra mile offering a 40fps VRR mode. Even SquareEnix C team that made Forspoken included it.
VRR has nothing to do with 40fps 120hz mode. Why do so many people fuck this up? PS5 has native VRR. VRR is always on if the system has it on. Its just not active until the game is at 48fps. Are you trying to say you want an unlocked 40fps with LFC in conjunction with VRR? That would make sense. But its unknown just how much headroom there is for that. Also is the confusion because devs only allow an unlocked 40fps or unlocked 60fps if you have a VRR display? Maybe thats why? But yeah no need for a VRR display if all you want is a 40fps 120hz mode.
But yeah you don't need VRR for 40fps. 40fps divide evenly into 120hz. It would display as smoother than 30fps and have been response time than 30fps. There will be no screen tearing as again 40fps divides evenly into 120hz.
Id use that for sure. 30 fps is just too low
Finally got to play all day I spent 10 hours in the grasslands alone doing EVERYTHING and AM LOVING IT. IM LITERALLY WEEPING THE WHOLE TIME IM PLAYING IT. IT IS BETTER THAN I IMAGINED !
The game is too damn good. I am currently at working suffering from Final Fantasy Withdrawal.
And it keeps getting better and better
This game set the new jrpg standard for open world maps. The ruggedness of the terrain, the rewarding exploration, the flavorful textures etc., I just wish sometimes they do some banter every once in a while like Tales does.
The game is epic. It's definitely my top pick for GOTY.
same here jay
I highly doubt it’s going to be as good as the new Minecraft updates coming later this year
People will have forgotten about it. by the time GOTY rolls around. It’s the drawback to releasing early in the year.
It’s absolutely blowing my mind. This is like game of the decade
@@chaserseven2886minecraft of all things? O.O, game of the year is for new games though.
There are a few scenes where the music almost drowns out the dialogue, I know this is something that can be adjusted in settings but the default seems questionable haha. A very minor thing, I just found it odd.
It's growing on me Prince. It's really REALLY growing on me lol. I'm finishing all the side quests chadley stuff left and right now that I got the chocobo lol
Just turning down the speed of my camera control seemed to fix a ton of problems for myself. Mine is set on 2
Same . It helps alotn
Yep. Less judder when the camera doesn’t blur environments as much.
I wish there was a in battle and out of battle camera speed 😭
ill try this brother
This is key
Something to consider about the director preferring graphics mode, many game devs(certainly not all) are creatives first and gamers second(which is why they got into dev instead of staying just a consumer), and actually really want to see what the devs made in its best visual quality. I don't think it's surprising at all that he'd prefer graphics focused modes.
Now, if we were talking about a game dev that works on a pure action, mechanics focused game, that may be less likely, but even then I don't think it would be that strange.
3:09 I do wonder if they can put proper lighting for Cloud and Sephiroth synergy attack during their eye crossing slow down frames.
He looks like the walking dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Other than this which I noticed a lot on setting menu this really doesn’t have bad graphics all they have to do is smooth out texture and add motion flow
I love the story, even though I'm not new to Final Fantasy VII, I feel like I'm a new gamer experiencing it. The new FF7 is even more complex, with a dramatically tragic story being told. Tears flow so much while playing this new FF7; it's like watching a dramatic masterpiece. Damn you Aerith you really got me.😭.. Thank you, Square Enix, for once again doing a great job.
Must agree... They have even addressed little parts that many of us ignored in teh OG game... Like Tifa, When Sepiroth struck her in the Nibelhiem Flashback in the OG... I think most of us as we got older looked back on that and went "Wait!? WHAT!? HOW DID SHE LIVE???" - In game they say she was barely alive.. And that wipes it away but as you get older you realise NAH MAN! She was DEAD!
And in Rebirth, They address that! They are Using it and Playing with it... And I love it! And no I dont think that a Spoiler as its in the Trailers! LOL!
It plugged plot holes and also created new mysteries... What more could you ask for? (Well, Hopefully not another 4 year wait... LMAO!)
I kind of preferred playing it on performance mode because when I first played it on graphics mode at the start with Zack and later with Sephiroth, it felt little to whiplash for me. Plus, performance mode made the gameplay and cutscenes feel a lot smoother, just like how I saw it when I played the Remake (ps4 version) on my ps5.
This is one of the few games that graphics and 30fps runs so smoothly I don’t feel like I’m missing out on 60fps
Lies it does not run smoothly but ok
no it does not
It really does, I don’t know what these guys are talking about. I notice people who are HYPER fixated on perfect gameplay and graphics tend to like games less and less. There will always be flaws with any games that come out.
Btw 30fps graphics mode runs great.
Rotate the camera and then puke on yourself.
@@jordangonzalez4658it does if you actually have the game and have seen it with your own eyes. But ok.
Really hope they fix the overworld lighting and let us have the camera as zoomed in as it was in Rebirth too
Zoomed in? I want the opposite. Especially during chocobo riding. I hate how close the camera is. It’s hard to see anything with my party’s chocobo asses in my face.
@@Chocomunchiesame I don’t understand people who want it closer! On 3 it’s not far back enough, it’s nauseating having it on 1. Who wants an open world game where you can only see clouds arsehole 😂
The overworld lighting is great in Graphics mode.

@@Snzn18 what??
I am absolutely not holding my breath that this will be a be-all, end-all patch for the performance mode. I’m probably gonna finish my first play through start to finish on Fidelity mode, and if there has been a proper patch, since then, my NG+ will be in performance mode
The nostalgia you feel when exploring those areas you used to roam 20+ years ago... I work 9-5 and have other responsibilities @ home but still managed to play 50hrs with barely 50% completion (Remake took me 18hrs to complete). I started to feel exhausted, hence affecting my gameplay by having this urge to skip sidequests. Looking forward to finish the game this weekend.
PS: some of the reimagination feels little bit off and weird
PPS: all the mini games definitely make it worth buying the whole game
wait they're announcing 16's DLC on Dragons Dogma 2's release? thats unfortunate
5:49 in response to this section i want to point out that rebirth has a perfect tagline: "the unknown journey continues". We dont know exactly where its going and thats why were excited for an over 20 year story! Im excited to see where we go from here.
what peoeple dont understand is that, 30 fps is not bad, UNSTABLE frame rate is. it doesnt matter if the game runs at 60 or 30, its more important that its kept at a stable, rock solid frame rate.
What is bad is the textures and pop in.
Yeah, I never understand why everyone wants 60fps so much. So long as it's stable, then 30fps is absolutely fine
I can 100 percent tell a difference between 60 frames and a stable 30. I didnt even notice the blurry image quality until I changed it to graphics mode and back anyway. By all means anyone who is fine with quality mode is more than welcome to enjoy their garbage frames per second. To each their own
If you're not used to 60 then 30 isn't garbage. Not everyone is an FPS snob lol@@monsieurlefortune5092
60 FPS is very noticeable form 30 FPS even when both are stable. But Pc Master Race kids loves to exaggerate how much better it is when its whatever. It's nice but wont deter my enjoyment of the game.
so far i only saw one major issue (not sure how to trigger it again since it's only happened once) during Junon after the parade > during a the first fight, it was stuck in to a 3 FPS mode for about 2 min after a enemy throwing a grenade and the explosion broke the game, not sure if it was the camera angle or just a weird coincidence, The game came back to normal after the animation was finish, that was one long Explosion animation at 3FPS xD (playing in graphic mode)
I experienced a crazy low frame rate drop in one of the fights at that spot too (I'm playing on graphics mode too.) The flames from the flame thrower units can definitely lower the frame rate and I think it might have been an exploding grenade on top of that which really tanked the fps so low. My camera was really close to the flame and explosion effect too and I think that is a factor.
The main reason the slide show continued so long for me is that I had the command menu open while it happened so the game (and thereby the animation which includes a lot of transparency effects) was already slowed way down. Once I exited the command menu the fps got back to normal after just a couple seconds.
Edit: It wasn't a big deal for me since it only happened once, but if it happened a lot I'd be pretty annoyed.
I never experienced this, you sure your ps5 isn’t overheating? I haven’t seen any fps drops whilst playing graphics mode
@@jamrah8713 it just a one time thing and no it is not related to the ps5 heating, it’s just a pure coincidence base with camera angle and specific animations vs a specific unit. And i been playing for 35h now and only saw it during the junon area
That sounds like it was more of a processing error not a FPS drop. As FPS won't have an impact on duration of an animation.
@@loganshumaker1536 System errors's are likely to lead to FPS drops. Am I right folks, am I right?
Or am I wrong. Have I been been missing something that's been in front of my eyes the whole time?

i hope it wins game of the year as it is that good i love it
Kalm - Grasslands area alone made it feel like the price was worth it and we're into something good.
Eagerly awaiting for your ultra-in-depth story breakdown 🙏 Man this was a wild ride.
Anyone know where the source for this news is? I want to share it as well.
I swapped from 4k to performance soon and i like both. Im on chapter 10(about to go to nibelheim) 61 hours in and i love it.
I would rather have them fix the audio issues... At times you can barely hear the characters talk over the background music . For example when I was talking to the other "merc" at her lighthouse i could barely hear the conversation over the "merc's" background music. Making changes to audio does nothing. People say it is about the "microphone" placement in the scene... I dunno. Maybe it doesnt impact those just running stereo, but for me with my 7.1 surround, it does and i am not the only one.
I think the sound balancing issues are still there in stereo, especially since it only happens in some circumstances, but not others.
My guess was that they didn't fully equalize, and more importantly, normalize every line of dialogue and music track to be at a similar volume level. The audio that's bothered me the most is how battle music is more than twice as loud as exploration music. I'll get the exploration music sounding perfect on my new sound settup only to get ear blasted when battle music comes on lol.
Still, the game is so amazing that all of my complaints feel really minor by comparison.
I'd like unnamed NPCs to have their own volume slider, its such a tiny thing, and there's no reason for it not to be there. The constant NPC yammering in places like Costa Del Sol was almost insufferable for me personally.
My only issue is the camera something seems off while exploring the open world segments.
I think you meant to say fort condor
@harryzanks9016 no the camera is jank when you turn around it wigs out it is hard to explain.
@@PoppyraeI had such a hard time with the hard mode of that minigame. I learned that if you turn the game from Dynamic to Easy. The hard mode is a LOT easier.
@@oukeith Wooow I thought I was the only one experiencing this. Glad that I’m not fucking crazy. lol
@@TheMusikalChristian Good to hear that. I mostly hated Fort Condor in Rebirth but also laugh at how memorably brutal the experience was. I turned the difficulty down from Dynamic to Easy during the 4th Condor mission after at least a dozen attempts, but didn't notice a difference in difficulty. Feels like they really put you at a disadvantage and handicap you in ways to make it way harder than it was in Intermission. Eventually looked up a stategy and that got me through it in one try.
Bringing the camera zoom our helped a lot.
I had a weird visual bug, if you can call this a bug, when I was in the grasslands near the water where one side mission leads you and looked up the cliff, shortly to the top was a thin line where I could look through the rock and see the lighting behind it, when I went back up it was solid ground.
Overworld lighting also needs fixed as well as some textures. There are one too many areas that lack sufficient shading and shadows. It feels like an addition of GTAO or RTAO would help or possible a RT shadow or RTGI implementation to fix the ambient shading.
Hey Sky Prince have you seen any pop in when play on both mode in FFVII Rebirth because when I play on both modes I get pop in when I'm playing the game so please let me know if your getting the same k
It's not just you! I've learnt to live with it! 😕
I play on 30 fps but on side quests and exploration and cutscenes. If i see multiple enemy groups or boss fights than i switch to 60 fps and boss fights. This game usually indecates when those things happen
With my old TV, the higher fidelity really doesn't make a difference. I'll take the "scary faces" and rock solid 60 FPS over that huge hit to frame rate.
I'm just glad players with old tv's are picking this game up.
i'm lucky and use a 4k oled. I did try the performance mode, but it was like i was playing it through glasses with vaseline on them.
I played every game on performance mode before Rebirth and chose graphics mode for this game because performance mode is just way too much of a downgrade right now and so far all it took was about an hour or two of playing in 30fps before my eyes adjusted to that and I can barely notice the difference. I don't think I could go back to performance mode now. 30fps really just isn't that bad. You all act like its the worst thing ever but we played most PS4 games in 30 fps and most games of the past two gens in 30fps so I don't know why all of sudden its "the biggest deal in the world". Talk about minor first world complaints. lol
Issue sound too loud if you set messages to play through tv instead on controller
I basically always play performance mode but I love graphics mode for this game. It’s gorgeous. But that said Horizon FW had a similar thing with perf mode looking not great and it looks absolutely unreal now after GG patched it
I normally would never turn it on, but I turned the motion smoothing on my tv while playing on quality, and so far, it's felt fine. You can still feel the frame dip when turning the camera on faster settings though. Hoping they add in camera based motion blur at some point, which iirc, is what Digital Foundry has recommended for that mode.
I don’t see this “blurriness” at all. Closest I saw was some ghosting on vehicles. I do see the lighting issues though but it doesn’t bother me all that much. Glad they are fixing it though.
I just got to the Gold Saucer tonight. This is where the tears are gonna start! 😭
So far the only glitches ive had are both after a battle. One time the game basically froze, could control camera and open menus etc but couldn’t move and no hud on screen etc. after around a minute it just went to normal. And also one time after a battle the game started running in slow motion, but menus were normal speed, but fixed it self after a minute again. Strange
when you are in elevators this lighting shadow issue happened quite a lot. i had a lot of weird moments where it almost looked like black face and it was uncomfortable 😅
i can still see blur even on a 1080p tv still switching between graphics and performance 30hrs in and honestly still conflicted which to keep
I don’t have any high hopes for the lighting issues. It was the same in the demo and that’s (if I recall correctly) an old build.
Meaning it’s been there for a long time and they must have seen it and said it was ok.
IMO the entire lighting system needs adjustments cause it’s the auto exposure in Unreal Engine 4 they need to fix.
It can also be seen under Junon when looking at the ocean, it’s all over exposed.
I had one funny glitch when my black chocobo slid into the floor and got stuck in the floor lol
I am in Junon, now and it's delightfully awesome! But the only thing as of now that would require some work that I would nitpick about is a difficulty rebalancing on Fort Condor. It's so fricking hard on Normal! I lowered the difficulty on Easy just for that, and managed to do it afterwards. It's difficulty was perfect in Intermission, so I don't understand the sudden spike.
Doing my first play through on performance mode. I got several hours in on graphics but its doesnt even seem to hold a steady 30 fps. Id be perfectly content with 30 but it looks super choppy when running around the overworld.
Also, its crazy to me that people are entering this franchise with Rebirth. Even the people that never got to play OG and started with Remake I felt were REALLY missing out, not just because its a great game, but because of the entire dynamic of Remake hinges on familiarity of the original.
Yeah i just played this game on graphics mode on my 4k tv, didnt feel like i was missing much.
I felt the same way
This will all be based on the display size and quality of the display, on an oled 77 4k performance mode is extremely blurry, I can see the pixels easily on that quality.
But on a low quality smaller 4k probably not that much, also on a 1080 tv/monitor performance mode is probably better.
@@Siul_987 Not the case, I'm playing on a 28'' 1440p 240hz monitor and performance mode looks horrible. Graphics mode hurt my eyes at first at 30 fps (after playing remake at 120fps on pc) but after an hour or 2 I got used to it and I hardly notice the low framerate now. Just have to make sure i don't play any pc games for the time being or I'll get used to high framerates again
@@benwinson295 what you wrote sounds like a quality monitor (in particular the hz), I have seen people around playing on 1080 tvs/monitor and arguing performance mode looks good… I mean they will never see 2k or 4k (like in your case you will never see 4k res at all since your monitor cap it 2k).
1:20 Oh snap....is that the whole map in the top left!
I agree on graphics mode. There’s just too much detail everywhere to go down in quality, but maybe if patched perf is really close I’ll consider it
I feel like I know whart their attempting now but I have'nt beaten Rebirth yet so I want to wait for that to be solid in my guess here. I want to have all the pieces in place first before I decide how well these new elements work. Because it's very much a case of we need the complete picture first.
I don’t disagree with that, it is a trilogy after all. The pacing of the main story feels like an issue to me, as well as some character and story beats that just don’t feel like they hit or have the proper chance to breathe. I just finished it today and while I’m going to wait to judge the trilogy’s whole story when the third one drops, that still doesn’t mean we can’t judge how well done the story for each game on its own is (pacing, characterization, etc.)
yeah me too. i'm not 100% sure, i jsut got to the temple, but my theory so far at the very least negates my worst multiverse fears after remake's ending.

and i agree with you about the party's reactions at the end. i think that more than anything they were flabbergasted and in shock not just at the event, but how cloud handled it. like... not sure what to even say.
now that i've thought about it, i think it's as good if not better version of events than the OG. however, the WAY they showed this newer version was not directed as well as it could have been.
so again, mixed bag, more good than bad but i think it's that effect how if someone we love does something minor it might hurt us alot, but a stranger would need to do ALOT to hurt us a little.
we LOVE ff7, so even a slight misstep feels major to us. but if i never played og, i would think this game was brilliant, ya know? the voice acting, expansion of lore and just seeing the inter-party relationships more than makes up for some poor pacing and battle mechanics i think. when this all started, i never imagined 2015 square enix could make anything this competant, so it's a miracle it's as good as it is, and i know we are lucky to have it.
anyways i'm gonna delete my previous comments just for potential spoiler reasons becasue i feel bad about it. thanks for theorizing with me that was really fun.
Honestly i've become adjusted to Graphics mode so i'm not as concerned with performance mode. The bigger issue is the LIGHTING. It's so washed out outside at times and too dark inside
Chadley in calm, too bright couldn't see his face, in the mines could see cloud aerith and tifa fine but red and barret were dark AF
can you switch to graphics mode mid game or no?
Yes you can do it in the current version already
Yes, you can as long as you’re not in battle You can actually change it anytime.
@@CloudStrife777FF ok then maybe I should do that I see exactly what he is saying here. I thought you were locked into one mode or the other
Here baby!!
Strange, I'm having the opposite issue. Graphics mode looks very blurry when panning the camera. No blur at all with performance mode.
Great. I hope they fix the sound mixing next.
Only conplaint is how loud battles get when playing on commercial sound system or on custom in ear montiors. Gimie a battle audio balancer
I’ll play it again on PC with DLC and all the settings turned up. Same thing I did for remake.
Is it just me, or is the sound all jacked up too? Maybe it’s my setup, but I feel like the dialogue is way low compared to the music.
I’m trying to get the fort condor relic quest done
They need to fix the audio balancing. Sometimes the dialog get drowned out even with the music set to 7.
My stupid ps5 is crashing at the beginning battles and cutscenes and at one point managed to get as far as Nibelheim, I finally made a save file and then rolled up a hill and then it crashed again lol, this happened on map screen in ff16 and some big boss battles (near the end of them too) as well and so this clears up there being something wrong with my console vs the games, luckily I still have warranty left (till early may) of my god of war ps5 bundle but it means I'll have to wait to play it and attempt to avoid spoilers which sucks (also disk drive was making weird noises and was jammed but cleared up a few weeks in and works now). I have a theory on the SSD being the issue in a "bandwidth reaching a level" kind of way and so I have a nvme ssd on the way to test first, as "made for ps4" games like FF7 Intergrade and Yuffi DLC work flawlessly, but not FF16 and FF7 Rebirth, so when all this is sorted I'll be able to catch up on more of these kinds of videos on what looks to be an awesome game.
Have you ever taken the face plates off, removed the fan and cleaned the inside of the console?
@@jamierose6046 I haven't but it's under a year old and has only been used to play 3 games and the rare streaming tv show usage, the ff16 part was happening a month from new.
I don't know if it's my tv but I can barely even see what's going on in Graphics mode. It looks like 20fps and the motion blur is so bad during gameplay that Performance mode is a significant improvement. I'm totally fine with 30fps normally but there's just something weird going on with this game. Apparently it's on my end somewhere because everyone is saying how good Graphics mode is.
I think he may be right that you don't need knowledge necessarily from Remake or the original work to get what's happening, to a degree. But you do lose a lot of nuance to things, the way Cloud behaves in the Nibelheim flashback for example, and the way Tifa emphasis certain lines when commenting on Cloud's recollection. But these are kind of things you can perhaps learn to appreciate on a second playthrough after learning certain things on your first time through.
2:35 - The problem is that 30 FPS is not consistent in Graphics Mode. There are many MANY points where it dips below that, and at least in one area I was at 19 FPS for what seemed like a long time.
It anyone else having pop in issue where environments don’t load correctly or little details take a little longer to load.
I bought a new display monitor specifically for this game it's a LG Ultra gear I maintaining 60 frames per second. On graphics mode and mine looks great just some of the lighting puts like a blur on the face sometimes but the monitor I also bought has motion blur
You’re maintaining 60 fps on performance mode maybe, but not a true 60 fps on graphics mode, it’s locked at 30……
What if we don't have a 4k tv?
Im playing through part 1. I never played it and I really want to play rebirth
I knoticed that there doing a dlss style view so the center around the character is sharp, but the shadows look sharp and get blurry further out instead of the whole screen being rendering equally in graphics mode.
That's not what DLSS does

Huh, I looked at the chractar faces on performance mode in dim areas, it didn't look anything like what you showed us, you sure it's not some glitch?
Yes thats how it looks almost everywhere stop shilling to defend your purchase bud.
It's really noticeable in certain spots and I've frequently caught it looking like the screens he showed, but it's not like that everywhere. Seems like it often happens when a spotlight type of light is directly above the characters head.
Makes me think the game might be using a lower quality - but less resource intensive - version of light rendering in some spots. The character models outside of cutscenes definitely look like they're lower quality than they were in Remake.
This made me feeling a little concerned when I was playing the demo, but I'm loving the game so much, I've been able to look past it.
@@arustyitalianhairyasscheek5305 I'm not defending anything, I was just saying I never noticed it even in dim lighting.
@@drumjod I'll have to check it out a little more in some areas, thank you.
I’m playing on graphics mode lol. The 30 fps doesn’t affect me (but I do notice a difference, especially with games like Halo Infinite)
This is the first time I got motion sickness with performance mode, I can't handle the blurry. And I agree graphics mode on 1st playthrough was the best option when you only care about enjoy the story and beautiful enviroment.
I've played on graphics mode and didn't even realize it was 30 FPS... lol
Just beat it today. Wow 😮
I've played through most of the campaign in performance and yeah its noticeable sometimes but I'm not picky, this is nothing to complain about if you're a real fan lol. I'll play highest graphics when it's on pc, I can wait, the cutscenes at 60fps matter to me also, it still looks great in my TV
do i have to do queens blood fot chapter 8?
No it’s optional, if you talk the to staff member on the right of the desk you should be able to forfeit it
@@Temperance_XVII for corel prison?
@@Ally-ht4od oh damn I thought you were talking about the cruise but still you can avoid doing queens blood there’s other ways you can get the vegetables for the chocobo
@@Temperance_XVII thank u so much i dont dislike queens blood but i cant get into it
I'm running on a 1080p screen so the performance and graphics modes barely looks different for me lol. So performance mode has basically no downsides to me.
I legit didn't understand the complaints until I realized it was probably because alot of people have 4k monitors now. Which would probably have a much bigger difference between the 2 modes.
Hey NSP thanks for providing us with this update!🙌🏽😁
I just started FF VII REBIRTH and all I can say is the first seconds of the game had me floored. I can't wait to see what the game has in store! And I can't wait to hear the theories and analysis you have in store!❤🤩🙌🏽
Remember when you could enjoy a game without the need for 60 fps? I love the game regardless. Also, we still have the OG if the story direction isn't your thing. You do you, man.
Art in motion is always a treat to the eyes so I get the good graphics camp. But with so many advances in tech I’m surprised there is not a consistent solution for some of these hiccups that I can only blame the game developers. Pokémon scarlet and violet is a good example and that tech is over 11 years old. Maybe it’s a QA issues. Just sucks when it comes from major titles.
Feels like my t.v gamemode helps a bit. I like performance mode. Graphics mode was great but performance just feels better and looks better to me. I got a sony bravia so i think its pretty much meant for ps5
hi The Night Sky Prince
Rad, Ima wait to continue the game until the patch comes out.
I spent 12 plus hours in just the grasslands alone. Beautiful 😭!
YOU'RE THE GREATEST NSP!!! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I dunno if this is everyone's issue. For whatever reason it looks blurry on Graphics mode more than Performance mode on my Sony A95K. 🤷I do not see the same thing you are showing here in the video. I wonder if it has to do with refresh rates or something.
And here I am waiting for them to buff MP absorb
Been watching playthroughs for and can not wait for it to come to PC
This game is amazing, I recommend getting this on PS5, simply becos of the adaptive trigger. I never have so much fun just driving the buggy around, it's so immersive.
I hope this "patch" isn't used to piggyback any kind of censorship onto it....
@pwincesskrissy I can tell you're not very bright 🤦
@pwincesskrissy Define "literally", and "crying", sweetheart. Get a brain while you're at it 🙄
@pwincesskrissy Define "literally", and "crying", sweetheart. Next, ponder the meaning of those two words combined and get back to me 🙄
I'm so obsessed with the game. The music is so magical.
Same here. Incredible music like this truly elevates a gaming experience to an otherworldly level.
The music is nice indeed but also extremely loud!
Graphics mode textures in world need a bit of patch work too hopefully.
A lot of work, the assets used are bad.
There's so many biospheres that are unique that high ass quality textures for everything could like double the file size of the game and sony gives guidelines for file size
@@dick8997 You ever play rdr2?
@@timholloway8821rdr2s scale isn’t nearly as complex as FF7 rebirth (not a diss) FF7 rebirth has sprawling complex environments with alot of elevation and underground portions being rendered in real time
Also completely different engines. FF7 rebirth uses unreal which is notorious for being annoying to work with when it comes to optimising textures and filesize and using different lighting solutions other than the ones they provide (which probably explains why some areas lighting looks wonky
If you’ve played next gen unreal games or just unreal 4 games you’d see these same issues. Fortnite has the exact same issue too especially in performance mode
textures everywhere for me lol, random items, floorboards, parts of mountains are just so blurry
I am playing on a 1080p TV in performance mode and I only noticed it being blurry in one cutscene. I was looking out for it since everyone is complaining but it is really not an issue from my experience. It must just be mostly on higher end displays. Also it was only blurry in one of the Corel Del Sol cutscenes Tifa's glove was super blurry.
Tifa’s glove weapon doesn’t seem to have what are called “motion vectors” so the Temporal Anti Aliasing just misunderstands how it’s moving, smearing, blurring, and ghosting that element. Might be speaking French but hey that’s the explanation.
@@willuigi64 “I'm detecting nanowave frequency shift in the lithium bipolar booster amplifier. I need to scrub the electro-plasma thruster bracket.” This is you
@@quickpawmaud they explained the issue, is hard to grasp but is the factual information at least xD.
I noticed that too. Figured it was me but glad others saw. A shame because I love Tifa's shiny metal gloves of death 😊
I just got on the ship after Junon. Been playing in performance mode up to now. I think I'll switch to graphics mode until they implement a patch. I gotta say the 60 fps fights are slick. Hope 30 fps doesn't make it that bad.
Was thinking about doing the same thing 30 hrs in and even on a 1080p tv theres still noticeable blur especially on characters
The game is incredibly polished for its size and development time, we could be watching reels of all the bugs by now if it was a different game.
the AI still hate chairs though, lol. its almost like they beam out of path just to yeet it.
Chairieth Gainsburough strikes again!!@@bladerj
People who haven't played the OG are having a completely different experience and I have nothing but sympathy for them. Even if they play it later they'll never have the experience us OG 7 fans are having right now.
The nostalgia hits me hard in this one
Graphics mode is workable I try not to look at the distance when the camera is moving fast. I find that’s easier on my eyes. But damn what a great game.
Unrelated but I love how these small basically nonexistent bugs and graphical issues with the game are getting fixed and addressed, now if we look at Pokémon scarlet and violet…
Man. This game is PURE MAGIC... a dream come true
Great video and this is wonderful news. The lower quality character models outside of cutscenes made me feel concerned during the demo, but I've been able to move on and look past it.
Really glad to hear what you said about recommending players start at any entry in a series that appeals to them the most. I've had a few discussions with fellow streamers who are absolutely adamant that each player has to start at the beginning of a series to be able to enjoy it. These folks were saying it was bs when the Rebirth devs said they designed Rebirth to be enjoyed even by completely new players to FF7.
I'm with you on this though, NSP. It's better to start with a game that really hooks you and then go back to previous entries if it you really liked it. The alternative is to start with the oldest game, and that is much more likely to turn new players off so that they'll never get to experience great things the newer entries do. I think this would apply to series like Yakuza as well, and I've been wanting to give a newer Yakuza title a chance one of these days.
Save for some textures looking a bit low rez, and characters not looking wet when getting out of water, I hadn't noticed too much. Hopefully we don't have to wait long for this patch.
I didn’t know Zack died. Thought you said this video was spoiler free. I’m just now playing it for the first time. Thanks. 😞
I hope this game sells amazingly well.
