      To each their own. I put a bunch of padding behind mine, so it doesn't rattle at all. You wouldn't even know it was modified. These come as a factory option for 2018+ so it's only an issue if you see a 2015-2017 with a digital dash if you don't want any modifications.

    • @RobsHouse
      @RobsHouse  Před 2 lety +4

      No. The center bolt threads into a receiver which is hexagonal. As long as the wheel was pointed straight when you took it off, you can’t screw it up putting it back on. You’d have to rotate it a full 60 degrees to put it on at a different angle. You’ll see what I mean when you pull yours off. Don’t worry :)

      I love it! And if you do the digital dash, I would recommend putting some foam behind it. Mine was rattling so I removed it again last weekend and taped some foam back there. No more noise now :) it is only mounted by the bottom if you have a 2015-2017 car so it flexes a bit when you hit bumps. It’s not moving at all now and the foam obviously eliminates noise. It requires a bunch of programming with FORScan, but you should be able to, assuming that dash is from a manual car. The manual and auto clusters are slightly different. You'll also need the bezel for it like I showed in the video. I wouldn't expect it to work right out of the box without some programming though. You also need to reset the odometer which is non-trivial as far as I'm aware. You can increase mileage easily, but if your car has less miles than it shows, the bezel needs to be completely re-flashed I think.

      It's not a simple plug-and-play. You'll have to program the BCM using FORScan to reflect the features of your car (red line, whether or not you have a boost gauge, etc). It will also need to come from a car with the same transmission. Automatic clusters do not work properly on manual cars and vice-versa.
      In my case, I purchased the kit and provided my VIN and mileage. With the VIN, they could look up the specs of my car and program the BCM accordingly before they shipped the unit to me. The only thing I ended up needing to change was the redline.

      @@saulfranco8641 It will absolutely NOT match your car's mileage. You will have to program it with FORScan. It's also worth noting that you can only raise the mileage with FORScan, so if that other car has more miles on it than your car, you need to do a factory reset, which I do not know how to do. You can contact hellhorse performance and ask them. They sell these dash swap kits and can probably reset it for you if needed.

      @@anthonypalacios3842 yeah you can use FORScan to up the mileage to match when you do the install. You can also use that software to set other options in the cluster if they don't match, such as the red line for example. There are some spreadsheets on the forums with all the FORScan hex values for different settings for the BCM which controls the cluster and the infotainment screen. You need the ELM327 OBD interface for it as well.
