Being a car audio installer myself, I was cringing....physically twisting my body lol....as I saw the first piece...then second...etc....go back on WITHOUT testing out the new cluster first! Especially even stating several times that the plug may have damage but very unlikely unable to work, could still simply not get seated properly. Look how many steps he would have to go through just to get back to that. With the potential to break any of those parts again.
"It's best to test before putting back the rest"
Corny but has saved me so many labor commissions because you don't get paid to take something back apart that's your fault for not testing.
I know the battery is disconnected but unless it specifically says DO NOT POWER ON WITHOUT AIRBAG INSTALLED, test first, or at least call the manufacturer before starting the job.
"Hey. Is it ok for me to reconnect the battery and test this new console before completely reinstalling the the entire dash?"
Well worth the time to call, and get the person's name you spoke too, and just good CYA (Cover Your A$$) practices!
Like Cameron said, this isn't being negative but I'm positive that it's worth talking about!
      LOL!

I've went from a 3.0 to 5.0 and now I'm going to 2.3 turbo. I just can't decide if I want to do a 2.3 Duratec, built and turbo'd, vs a 2.3 Ecoboost stock out of a Mustang with minimal addons as it's safe tuned power (400ish WHP) is all I want.
      It's a Ranger....not a future "crowd controller" with a shovel aka it's bed.

Also I definitely wouldn't have the stones to take to my dash with a dremmil. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for such a refreshing and informative channel, very relaxed, clear and knowledgeable. Glad to find someone using this infotainment's products. I own a 2015 Edge sport and the only down side for me is My Ford Touch system, unfortunately I can't just update it to the new Sync 3 due to the hardware upgrades that Ford made. I found about this companies(Infotainment and 4D Tech ) that sell the updated head unit so I can have Sync 3 on my car but I am a little skeptical about it because is really really hard to find videos like this one...real person using the product and kinda reviewing it and giving his or her impression of it. You can only find comments on their websites (good comments only of course) and CZcams videos published by the companies themselves with 0 comments and some cases the comment section is even disable and I am the kind of person that like to hear a 3rd party's opinion specially if I'm about to spend over 2k.
I know that people might say "just trade it in for a 2016 model" but I am happy with y car and I don't really want to do that...but at the same time the unit I am looking for cost 2k if you want it with GPS and Satellite radio enable and Im not really sure about installing that myself if I end up buying it.

I also have the 10spd automatic. I know some of you will be like oh no you should have gotten the manual. But I drove a manual and I’m telling you what the power between the manual and automatic is INSANE! The automatic is WAYYYY FASTER! It’s also SOOO MUCH MORE FUN! the different drive modes actually feel different when using them. On the manual it all feels the same except the steering feel. I have always had manual mustangs but after driving the 10spd I fell in love and will never have another manual sport car. We live in a time where the automatics are insanely faster than the manual! It's 2200, you can buy so many other mods that are going to be much more useful and overall better than just a gauge cluster. I totally agree that it looks cool, but it's a really expensive cosmetic. Buying iphones, ipads, etc. are things you kind of need. Unless you want to be really outdated and cheap, then yeah go ahead and buy a flip phone. But, honestly I don't think you can compare this $2k+ gauge cluster to people buying iphones and ipads.

I would look at it as a investment over time. If your going to keep the car for 4 years, £2k over 4 years isn't much. After all it is a mod you look at every time you drive.

I just built/installed a tablet-based system I my 06 V6 Mustang, using RealDash. I hooked my tablet to USB power via a step-down converter, then using the ACC ON power to set a macros to both start AND shut it down w/ key on/off. All indicators work except my blinkers (If you know the Ford extended PIDs/Mode 22 PIDs, please share!)... so I custom installed two LED blinkers (ran from the front bumper) in my dash that illuminate the corners of my dash bezel in an underglow style left or right, as operated by the normal turn signal switch. Tablet runs via Bluetooth/OBDII port. All in? maybe 150 bucks? And it works flawlessly.
