The cabin build may be what brought me here, but I also watch and enjoy remodeling videos/channels and I really enjoy learning and watching the installation, remodeling process. hanging drywall, electrical, bathrooms, storage remodels, workshop remodels. Air filtration/cleaning dust collection are also important, and worth seeing how you do it. So any you post, I will be happy to watch. Keep it up, and glad you and your wife can both appreciate and use what you are building.

Such a massive project, huge respect for where you’ve gotten it to! The inspections seem like they were one nightmare after another but I’m not surprised. That’s a complicated mix of uses in that building. Would nearly be impossible to put all of that nuance into a set of plans. The end result is going to be a true feat for a self-run self-built project. Humbling to see it!

Actually it looks like great progress given that it's a big building....and all those inspections that needed passing...not to mention everything else in your lives that need regular attending to.
Leaving the old bricks exposed, here and there, permits the past to speak to the present. It allows the authenticity of the building to shine through. Very nice.

Your shop makes me sick!!! What would I give for a shop like that? Nice machines and, so far plenty of space, but that’s like clamps, you can almost never have too many or too much. Sounds as if magic hammer needs to come out of retirement, thanks for sharing progress on your building. Dayton sure has changed since I live there in the seventies.

I love your videos, keeping it real. I also see nothing wrong with you doing videos of the abandoned building as well. I enjoy watching your journey be it the cabin or the abandoned building ♥️😊

You keep saying you haven't done much, but that's a LOT of plasterboard on high ceilings! I see a huge difference since the last video.

Great job Mike. Looking great. I do commercial construction and have some projects in OH. I typically have several solid oak actual 2x4s you would be welcome to have that is used as dunnage to ship a metal building. I have saved some my self and ran through a planner and they clean up nice. Let me know if you are interested

    Hell of a job Mike.
The building stood the test of history and time, but what was good enough back then, but needs a ton of regulations now.

Cheers, awesome building, which hit the new owner lotto getting the respect its history deserves. Right on

Commercial building requires wheelchair accessibility. Whether you need or not, it's the law. Ony fair in changing demographics.

Thanks Daniel, the accessibility was required by the commercial code, now that it's done I'm glad to have it. I hosted a meeting of my local woodworking club and a couple guys are in wheelchairs.

There's no reason for me to give a rip about Dayton or some old building rehab but here I am really enjoying what your doing there. As always the quality and passion put into the project is showing. Keep it up Mike.

having been in a fire with not much more distance between the building I was living in and the fire department than you do, around 2 blocks, you'd be surprised how long it takes them to show up. 15 minutes or so minutes.

Great update! Dealing w/code & inspectors is a pain but trying to remodel after a "make-it-fit" is often worse. Take care of yourself. 👍👍
