i was like âoh, i donât know, being a child actor in such a brutal place as broadway totally could have created trauma. plenty of kids in the spotlight are overworked and hurting!â and then her trauma was not having her own dressing room. oh.
same...
I HIGHLY recommend Naya Riveraâs (Santana) memoir. I actually stumbled across the audiobook version. She actually voices the book herself. Her sarcasm is hilarious. It will give you juicy details from glee you want. Recommend 10/10.
Felt like a friend telling me juicy gossip but then a tinge of sadness knowing sheâs no longer with us
I was about to say this! Naya's book was actually kinda good, fun, her narration was A+. Miss that girl.
I also randomly stumbled across the audiobook version, a few months after she had passed. Listened to it in almost one go. Such a good read/listen. I never much cared or knew much about Naya when she was alive (I mean, I was sad when she died but I was mostly indifferent to her) but after reading/hearing her memoir I really started appreciating her and started seeing what a wonderful human being she was. It genuinely made me mourn her, it felt like I lost a friend.
@@IHARumor I found the audiobook before her death and I came across again afterwards. Iâm glad her son as a piece of something of her, able to hear her voice, and listen to her stories đ€
Nayaâs entire audio book in on CZcams for free.
I second this! Also did Lea publish hers after Nayaâs bc I wouldnât be surprised
The line at the end about the âmiddle finger to the lady that told me to get a nose jobâ is interesting considering sheâs now the face of the buccal fat removal trend.
I know this comment is 1 year old but the nose comment from that lady is racially charged. Buccal fat removal is not removing a feature considered a feature of a race. Not that I think either procedure is good or necessary for her
Her memoir is literally Rachel Berry's diary
literally
When she said she could only play herself, she wasn't lying.

We canât get mad at Lea for this memoir, she doesnât know how to read! :/
she's trying her best
sobbing
Lmfao!!!!
This is one of my favorite conspiracy theories lol
Carley: This was written in 2014
Me: Refusing to believe we've been entertaining Lea Michelle as a celebrity for an entire decade
nooo
what's so weird to believe about it? glee came out 13 years ago lol
@@tvpivm because she sucks
For 15 years
You should have titled this âI read Lea Micheleâs memoir because she canâtâ đđđ
hearing that carley is 5'1 in the same video i found out lea michele has a memoir is just too much information to take in at once
im tiny
@@uncarley i literally thought you were really tall like 5'9 or something that is such a shock to me
@@uncarley another 5"0 gial here aha
@@uncarley how are you and i the same height??? wtc you look hella tall. i feel fooled.
Itâs the same energy as finding out how Jojo Siena is 5â9
one thing i always appreciated about Chris was that when he was offered the opportunity to do an autobiography he basically said "no I'm still a child, imma write a kids fantasy book instead"
He did a great job too! I work with kids and both his series come highly recommended
I love his series!
And his series was great! Loved those books
iâm young enough that i read the books way before i ever watched glee but they were actually rly good i didnât know who he was but i loved them
Whoâs Chris?
I'm cracking up at the idea that Lea thinks the fact that she loved _The Wizard of Oz_ growing up made her deeper and ~quirkier~ than other girls. It's such a mainstream fave.
This book is the embodiment of the âthat sign canât stop me because I canât readâ meme
@Bigheartoneggshells as a disabled person, donât speak for us thanks, this is hilarious. I can see why you picked that name, overly sensitive and afraid to laugh at memes for fear of causing offence.
this memoir is basically Lea trying to convince the reader that she is not a narcissist.
@Trinity M hey lea
@@asmijain4919 yeah no im with trinity here. its a word thrown around way too much and it minimises actual npd
But then actually convincing us she's a narcissist
I think Naya Rivera's book is, like, what Lea wished she could give.
What she thought she was giving.
And to think Naya died so young is so saddening to listen/read it.
im gonna read it! I love naya so much
@@uncarley There's the audio book too. Also narrated by her.
god bless whoever wrote this book for our illiterate it girl đ

"Those girls are fighting for their lives not to punch a child." đđđ just subscribed.
that book title is very much giving "and they said brunettes couldn't wear jeans" energy
"This is Chloe joker origin". Enough said, justice for Chloe not getting that role in les mis!
justice for chloe
The girl always talks about being Italian but she suggested quinoa pasta in the self help book she wrote. So whatâs the truth, Lea
i think we really need to talk about the genre of books that start or the title has anything to do with "blonde, brunette..." because that's something.
there's something there
Legally Blonde is great though
@@caitlingill but both Legally Blonde and Blonde Ambition are puns on âblind.â Brunette Ambition is head-scratching, it makes no sense
I'm going to call my book "Directionless Strawberry Blonde".
It will be a six page pamphlet about the art of eating without ever doing dishes.
If I add a chapter on "Naps", maybe I can stretch it to ten pages.
Itâs like she doesnât know hair dye exists
i cannot understand how she didn't put the story about showing Jonathan Groff her kitty in this book. that story shocked the entire musical theatre community, it would have put this book on the map. just how.
Now I need to know about this because, WHAT?!
â@@abybergdahlgirl I found a vulture article titled "Lea Michelle is the guilty one" and oh my god..
"the doc contains the revelation that Michele showed Groff, who is gay, her âwhole vagina,â since heâd never seen one before. Whatâs more, Groff asked! But as he told Vultureâs Stage Whisperer newsletter, âIt is beautiful!â"
C o m e a g a i n-
i remember when i was 14 and obsessed with glee, i read leaâs book right after i read naya riveraâs book and the contrast in quality was so apparent is slapped me hard in the face. and this was when i was 14 and i had absolutely no standards.
Lea Michelle in 2014: Looking like everyone else would be the worst thing you could do to yourself!
Lea Michelle in 2022-23: Buccal fat removal.
that one passage cured my unhealthy relationship with food, thanks lea x
just love yourself! its that easy!
so she's basically rachel? they didn't just kinda use her personality for the character, the character IS her. the whole barbra thing, Maria from was being "her character" and her not getting the role. they just made a character to make her feel even more like the protagonist fo her own life... that's tough
That's exactly what I noticed!
They actually based Rachel's personality off of Lea's.
That's because this is how a specific type of musical theatre girl is. They're all like that lol
This makes me feel like the girl in high school who was the theatre darling...and then wasn't in college so she has to make a huge sob story about it
bold of you to assume I didn't read this at thirteen and now use it as a nightstand along with some other heavy coffee table books
proud of your honesty
having acts of service in a bag at the corner of the frame is such a main character moment.
i love dressing my set

uncarleyâs insights on books are something to look forward to whenever you feel the need to fill up your mind with rather useful information. She just knows how to draw her audiences in. Maybe it has something to do with her charm and charisma that work seamlessly together.
omg thank you! this is so incredibly kind
she understands THE ZEITGEIST !
Sophia isabelle youâre genuinely one of my fav people to see comment on a video because of how nice you are, have a nice day, seriously.
carley is like the cool seniors at my historically womenâs college that i want to be when i grow up đ
this is the highest compliment i hope to receive
Omg I go to a historically women's college too lol
Lea really wrote a seventeen magazine issue as a memoir
It's wierd, in "Fiddler On The Rooftop", the dad had five daughter with the last two mainly being out of focus. In other words, Lea should've been greatful to have gotten the Third Sister as her arc was the most dramatic in the show.
Glee was chaotic as hell similar to how I feel about Lea Michele. And this video completely represents how i feel about celebrities books written just for clout.
like just hire a good ghostwriter and actually TRY
Now that you did this, you are now cursed to read naya rivera's and chris colfer's books, too. I just really love your opinion on books and some of glee's actors write.
Chris writes children's fantasy books among other young people's fiction! His series Land of Stories has not only a main storyline, but prequels and side stories and at least one graphic novel in the extended literary universe.
@@SharonStoppable Yes! I actually just read the Tale of Magic. It's an easy read and I love the theme of it, especially the moral it wants to give the children.
Jenna ushkowitz (Tina) has one too!
my first thought was "if she can't read, how is she writing" LMAO
nooooo
this was genuinely my favorite book when i was 11 đ€§
youre so brave to admit this

@@charmedprince sorry I'd have to be the one for you to hear this from, but your pfp looks very similar to Hunter from Ginny&Georgia
@@luxursunsets oh wow i feel flattered. I don't have an idea of my face so I can't compare đ no idea about the Ginny and Georgia show either but i saw a synopsis calling it similar to Gilmore girls. I'm from the Gilmore girls era đ
If youâd like some Glee tea, funny/fun writing AND ahead of their time insights you should definitely check out Naya Rlveraâs memoir Sorry Not Sorry. She talks about the passing of Cory Monteith, her beef with Lea, her abortion, his son and many other things. Itâs hilarious and heartbreaking. Oh, also it has a audiobook read by her as well!!!!
Also, on the topic of memoirs written by actors, Iâm Glad My Mom Died was chefâs kiss!!! Best read of 2022 for sure.
As someone who used to love Lea and had that book, I was severely bored and I got soooo disappointed. Nowadays I use it to kill bugs.
I CACKLED WHEN YOU INSERTED THE PICTURE. Thank you for subjecting yourself to that monstrosity so we didn't have to.
carley i NEED you to do a video on the absolute garbage that is colleen hoover's books PLEASE
omg yes
Thank you for being the one other person who agrees with me about Colleen Hoover.â€
Caleb Joseph does have videos criticizing Colleen if youâre looking for something immediate.
Omgg yes when I read the first page of one of her books I thought two things - one- if this is an author that can get published then I definitely can and two where is the nearest trash can
do you need this to upgrade your self-esteem? Or am I missing something?
i still can't believe she had the guts to publish a book with content that could easily be an article in some teen magazine but well literally thank u for reading to prove that i don't have tođđ (all i wanted was the juicy gossip lea!!
the GAUL of it all
She neither wrote nor read this, so Iâm guessing thatâs how đ
Be madder at the publishers that continue to give loads of money to these people, to just have someone else write it. Oh, and the people that buy them...
Iâm amused that Lea Michelle, who claims to live for the stage, Broadway and Streisand, criticizes other girls for their use of hairspray. Has she ever been in a dressing room?
This channel's humour is the best thing I've ever witnessed. You were born to be a comedian!
thank you!!!
@@uncarley you're welcome!!! â€â€â€
I worked somewhere that Lea Micheleâs mom was a regular customer at and now Iâm imagining her overpraising her daughter on the daily, creating a monster ever so slowly lol.
lea micheleâs chapter about eating did more for me than years of recovery, but lea will never know this because she cannot read this comment đđđ
I canât with all these comments đđ
You just know Lea Michelleâs watching this hanging on to your every word (bc she canât read)
lea is fighting for her life in these comments
Would you please consider reading Naya Rivera's autobio? She sheds some light on miss thing's behavior on set and it's honestly just a good book. Much love to my girl boss queen!!
omg yes! ive heard amazing things
Parts of the audiobook are here on YT and it does 100% work since Naya's inflection makes it clear what she's not saying...
The natural follow up for this is queen naya riveraâs iconic memoir
LMAOOOOO the way you're like "commit to the bit and write trash honey"... iconic i loved this. thank you for your service. have you read Miley Cyrus' Miles to Go memoir from 2009?? she was legit 17 years old and it was amazing
OMG i NEED to read that

âThis is the TIMELESS BAG shes talking aboutâ đđđ I canât
13:16 I find this part so funny, given the fact that Lea Michele has taken part of the âbuccal fat removalâ trend
If I could just get that âmmm, thank you mommyâ clip on a loop, Iâd be very satisfied.
No because that was so abrupt that I just stared at my wall for a moment before cracking up
A great example of a musical theatre celebrity memoir is Hooked by Sutton Foster! She has a genuinely interesting angle (talking about her emotional and relationship development in relation to the crafts she makes), and in general it was just such a relatable and painfully heartfelt read. Highly reccomend it to any fan of hers!
Leaâs whole book: Tell me youâre entitled without telling me youâre entitled.

Yeah I read it when I was fourteen (in 2018) and I actually really liked it!
Agreed!!!! I loved that book, you could tell she cared about it and genuinely had great stories to tell! Also very human.

You know how people say Bruce Wayne is the alter ego and Batman is his true identity? Yeah, I think itâs the same thing with Rachel Berry and Lea Michelle.
