Terry was Ozark Ike when he was drafted by the Steelers. This was his history with many many Steeler fans throughout his career. To this day noone denies he is the ultimate Steeler. I have a personal connection with Terry and how he helped my mom when they were on a flight together returning to Pittsburgh. He took care of an elderly woman and helped her by carrying her luggage through the terminal. Just what you would expect from a good old country boy would do. Everyone that is a Steeler fan in Pittsburgh loves Terry Bradshaw.

My father had season tickets in Pittsburgh from 1950 until 2010 when our family let the tickets go. I watched Terry Bradshaw play most of his home games in person and loved watching the development of the Steelers dynasty. Pittsburgh fans are defense first type of fans so the Steeler curtain was the #1 priority of the fans. It was the identity of the team when they won their first two super bowls. The second two Super Bowl wins , the offense and especially terry (and Franco) was the story. The D was still huge but with Terry’s arm and towering drive and talent, I think that the Steelers may not win those second two. What great great memories and what a terrific interview!! Kudos to Joe buck for doing a terrific job!

In addition, I’m a fellow southern boy who has gone through ridicule and all that. Moreover, I grew up with tough discipline (Ie, getting my @$$ whipped for f-ing up). Also. Fought my way to some semblance of success with undiagnosed depression issues, etc. I loved his game when I was a kid. And I love the man after I’ve learned about the background and the struggles he faced in college and as a pro in his football life. Amazing, cool, inspirational man. Awesome.

    What an arm!
My HS was in the WPIAL Championship 1971
Rookie Bradshaw was there, 3 Rivers practicing.
Coach said “that boy can throw the ball through a brick wall”.

My Dad and I watched Terry play his last college game in the 1969 Grantland Rice Bowl in Baton Rouge. Dad had heard about this guy and wanted to see him play. What I remember was that you could hear the ball whistling when he threw it even with the crowd in the stands.

He is such a fascinating character with an interesting, loud and vivacious personality! I love Terry Bradshaw! So real, so honest, so transparent, so true to who he is and he has a way about him where he's able to convey to us how he exactly felt deep down inside when he experienced these moments in his past. Wow, I had no idea Terry and coach Knoll didn't really like each other and were wrong for one another as player and coach but yet were able to disregard that and win football games together anyway. How sad that he really didn't get to enjoy his success the way players normally do while it was happening. But he did admit it felt good to win! And that's interesting how he said he had a fear of losing in the Superbowl. Guys like Fran Tarkington and Jim Kelly sure know what that feels like. Just an awesome interview that I thoroughly enjoyed. I always knew Terry Bradshaw was special but hearing his whole life story now, I have a deeper respect and love for the man. Especially knowing that he was hated by Pittsburgh even though he gave them so much. Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw -- both 4-0 in Superbowls. And both played in the day when qbs got killed consistently wirhout flags to save them.

Man, I can remember every detail of watching Terry's playoff runs as a kid....not the game, cuz I was too young and not a big football fan, but what the days were like, what I ate, etc. It was so basic yet thrilling. These guys (all the players) were gladiators.

I grew up a Steeler fan and loved all of the Steelers, had the good fortune to sit across from Franco Harris on a plane flight once. One thing that always comes to my mind, I don’t ever remember Bradshaw throw anything put a perfect spiral pass, today I see-a lot of wobbly passes. One more thing,I grew up in a little, coal town of Old Forge Pa,we had a player from our town who played center for the Steelers, his name was Chuck Cherundolo,I,m guessing but probably played in the late 30s,early 40s.He played softball in a local league and was very popular.
