to make beating the press more effective you could have more then one link player you could have other players that can become that link player or switch to acting as a link player it take’s practice and also hard work it’s one of the most important skills to have work rate. also a lot of team’s have only one super fast player who can latch onto a a link man’s pass and I have noticed something with Liverpool and Tottenham they have exacly that where they have 3 fast players who are experts on counter attack especially Liverpool which is why klopp bought Diaz and joto as klopp know’s a lot of the best team’s have very good press and know how to use it if you watch Liverpool they use Arnold as a link man as he is so good at passing and they also bought Thiago another thing is crosses Liverpool have two very good full backs who can really cross and joto and Luiz two recent signings are not the tallest if I’m correct but they can head so klopp buy’s players that have more to there locker then just pacy player’s where if you look at a team like Arsenal they have player’s that are almost one dimensional and the press is a massive issue for Arsenal!!

Being one-dimensional and relying on one or two strengths is a limiting factor the higher you go up the levels. Unstoppable pace or technique might get you to a great level if you're an amateur, semi-pro, or even a lower tier pro, but the higher the level the more versatile you need to be as a player. Being an all-rounder is something not many people in the lower tiers value but elite level players truly are all-rounders (at least most of them).
How do you beat man city’s press from goal kick? I noticed a lot of teams unable to play through their press. City deploy unusually a lot of players to block all passage of passing.

Seems thr nunber 1 way ti beat it is to drop a mf into the middle, split the cb and push the wb in line, with the mf. Then you cab use diamond shaped out wide to over load. You can also play the ball into the zones behind the press out wide. If their wb press play a forst time.ball down the line to a players run.
