To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. czcams.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

got them and used them for a few hours first day. I have a one n a half hour commute twice a day. best sounding, most comfortable, best noise cancellation ive ever experienced in my life. just putting my library on shuffle and hearing random songs in some of- if not, the highest quality ive ever heard them in is pure joy.

It's been more than a year, I have ordered mine now. :) What I like about airpods max is its wireless range can reach up to 100ft before the call gets distorted and disconnected. Suitable for me since I am exclusively working from home and I have kids. Best suitable if you have an apple ecosystem it's easier to pair to your iphone or imac.

I bought them and love the quality, sound, and seamless connectivity with my other Apple products. The case is a smart case for putting them to sleep. I wear them indoors and use my Air Pods for activities and exercise. I bought a zippered travel case. I returned my Sony xm4. Too much base, they look boring and the sound quality superior on Air Pod max. My Sony’s also crackled and drove me crazy.
After watching all Airpod Max videos, I've decided to buy Sony XM4.
Definitely the better choice.

Sources say Apple had a pretty damn small stock for the APM's, so I guess you may be right. We still need to give them the benefit of the doubt though, because we may very well be underestimating the loyalty of Apple's diehard fans.
I know people who probably spent their first two salaries entirely to buy a iPhone, or they must have bought it on EMI. Apple makes luxury products, and there are many people who buy it as a status symbol

I mean, they literally have to mill each earcup out of a solid bit of aluminum, sand blast, and then anodize them... And that's not to mention availability of other components like the custom silicon inside, drivers, mics, etc. I think they had very few of these ready for launch, but honestly driving up demand through scarcity is good for Apple anyway.

Thats just a placebo effect he is experiencing. It was expensive so it sounded better to him but in reality it's not. I think same happened when he was talking about the sound. Sony has warmer sound but apple have as he said brighter sound. Like he mentioned, they both have different sound signature but can't say one is better than other based on that because some people prefer warmer sound and some people like brighter

He said that the song aren't in the same league as airpods max , and sure airpods max have better sound , but it's not like they were much better. The Improvement in sound quality isn't very much , although noticeable. And the I didn't find any difference between the noise cancellation from his video . If anything , xm4's were slightly better at noise cancellation. Imo , the only advantage with the airpods max is a wider soundstage and nothing else. And even the improvement in sound quality is not that much. The xm4s are not in the same league according to price , but they are almost similar if not better than airpods max in mostly everything.

It's just software really, and soundstage is typically only something cared for by an audiophile. In reality, the average consumer will not even notice. Clarity and other factors are what average people will notice.

I have these. It may be that I’m used to heavy headphones, my previous ones are Master & Dynamic MH40s. I find these feel comfortable even using all day if the fit is right.
I don’t get the price comparison. Every reviewer goes on and on about the features and the fit and finish; the H1 chips, computational EQ, spatial audio, etc. and then base the price answer “is it worth it” on the sound quality alone. You’re buying AirPods “magic” with the rest of the features. I think they’re worth it. Sound quality + all the other stuff.
These things are almost $800 in Canada. For that price you could get the Sony XM4 and the PS5...

I was completely caught off guard when he said AirPods Max were better. From my ears, the additional background noise was almost negligible with the Sony's, and the AirPods were noticably worse in terms of noise filtering, and voice quality. Maybe it's different person to person, but listening to that demo, I would always say Sony did a better job.

I’m an Apple fan, since the nineties (girl getting old) and I loathe this design. I’ve had the M3s for 2-3 years and they’re amazing! Best headphone I’ve ever owned. I’ll upgrade to the M4s one day, when these die on me but if you want the best headset on a budget, get the Sony MX1000 M3. You won’t regret it 👌🏼

I like that. Dave highlights the pricing strategy. It's hilarious whenever people become armchair analysts about Apple's pricing. They have a team, or even multiple teams, working on that. They know their audience, who they are marketing to, and how to get the most profit. Yes they are expensive, that is the point, they know exactly what they are doing.

Tech Companies stopped striving for innovation and are now striving to make money by introducing some small improvements in their products even though they can do much better. At least Samsung comes up with something even though sounds gimmicky like 100x zoom bs lol.

That’s what I thought but then I listened again. The AirPods Max sound clearer with the background noise. The Sonys block off more background noise than the AirPods but his voice didn’t sound very clear.

They’re very nice, I just bought myself a new pair of Apple AirPods Pro a week ago & love them. Apple really knows how to draw people into their ecosystem.

I've watched quite a few review on this headphones on youtube from other channels, but this one is the most unbiased and clear pov of a review. He's comparing with Sony xm4 thus we knew the scale of it, while most others r kiss assing apple for how great this headphones r without too much thinking on the their cons.

Airpods most likely running on the beats branding to avoid the disdain that people have for apple (and their fanbois) but also to appeal to audiophiles, i dont like beats they suck ass to begin with they are overpriced and the majority of the beats gimmick comes from software which u can easily do yourself with sound equalization software!
a great example of beats being software is the htc one m7 phone had built in beats audio that could be disabled which tells me its entirely software related!

I have always wished that some reviewer would compare headphones for listening to classical music and I can’t believe that finally happened! The classical music community is really growing! (Btw do you watch twoset violin? 😆)

Watching yours and others like Micheal Fisher's, Snazzy, Flossy, Brian Tong etc the things that stand out is that the Airpods Max cost a lot but you get something that's top end with audio, noise cancelling, transparency, premium feel and design as well as functionality.
I was going to stick with my Sony WH1000 mx3, Shure wired in-ears and Audeze magplanars (with LG phone quad DAC audio), having considered the Sony mx4 and Bose 700. However, I'm seriously now considering the Airpods Max, having previously not even thought about them.
Some people get worked up about other people having a range of options to choose from- more worked up even than people having a range of cars to choose from. Personally, I think It's great that people have a wide range of options to suit preferences, budgets etc. And from past experiences, things that Apple does often leads to features becoming available at a lower price from some other suppliers (good to know you can listen to the Airpod Max and use noise cancelling whilst charging, without any background hiss and that you can use them wired, handy for example when video editing on a laptop).
Did you buy the AirPods Max ? Do you recommend them or should I buy the XM4?
Dave said the AirPod Max was better at canceling out the constant background noise???.... To me it sounded like the CLEAR winner of that comparison test was the Sony. The background noise might have been let in a tad more *but*, the speech didn’t get garbled and the voice seemed much clearer and easier to hear 👂🏼 anyone else?

I was really surprised at Dave's Mic test conclusion, I thought the XM4 sounded a lot better. Maybe I'm just not sensitive to these things xD
Then don't expect that these $550 Apple headphones will be any better for your ears. Seriously, the XM4s are AMAZING. Get those instead!

I have the xm3s and have adjusted them with the app they are great. The AirPods Max do sound better and they should do being almost double the price of the xm4s but they don’t sound $550 good.

@@PSYCHOV3N0M or you bought them for your business and get a tax deduction, which means you don’t pay tax on the $550 and save $250 which would have gone to the government, which makes them $300. You can sell them in 2 years time for that.....so they’re really free.

I'm tempted to get these as i've just started moving into the apple ecosystem, and one of the things I hate is that I currently have to either carry multiple pairs of headphones or constantly re-pair devices. I really wish someone else would make high end headphones that can actually connect well to multiple devices.
