To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. czcams.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.
Dave: Okay now I'm gonna show you the 500$ ones and how they sound and obviously they are the best.
Me with my 10$ earphones: Yep definitely the best.
You didn't miss much.

I got the $35 one. And I fee you bro
I feel great with my $2 earphones lmao
My ears don't have the necessary fidelity to recognize the difference. Even if they do, they may not feel that it's 3x (or whatever) better than the original. I don't like buying fakes, though. If I can't afford the real thing, I won't pretend that I can. I'd rather buy cheap headphones with their own design/branding since what I'm looking for is the functionality (eg., Bluetooth connection) not the branding/styling. As for sound quality, my ears are not that good anyway, and they have good understanding of my financial situation, heheh. My main problem with cheaper products is their longevity or durability. Financially, replacing them often doesn't really hurt since they're so much cheaper. But I know that this hurts the environment since I'll be contributing to the piles of electronics waste.

This feels like a mystery tech episode from Austin. We are just missing the "Hey Guys this is Dave2D, and today we are going to take a look at some mystery knock offs"
Dave is right; the word he’s looking up is “counterfeit”. I’ve got a couple of fake phones from eBay and the whole point is that the end users will doubt if they have been actually scammed or not; just enough to let it pass. They get the product with the right packaging and the right user interface, and the whole idea of returning the product becomes too much of a hassle to process. In the end most people keep the fake and simply complain about Apple, not about the seller.

Well Dave let me tell you , you are exactly correct , don't ask me how I know but I can assure you that is 100% case. This happens not only to Apple products but to every other product as well , doesn't matter if it's electronics or clothes or bags or anything in between.

@@crimsonamethyst7571 what do you think happens to the stuff that doesn't pass quality assurance tests? They don't throw it away they sell it to third parties super cheap so they can make money off it anyway.
@@crimsonamethyst7571 Without going into too much detail I won't be mentioning some company names. We have an electronics company which produces most of its products in China. We eventually found out that the same company/industrial factory that produces our products is making a small amount of knock offs and selling it to other buyers for cheaper prices. What they don't realize is , in electronics, products are assigned specific wattage for specific reasons , and when the requirements aren't met , these products eventually become faulty when they shouldn't. In the case of enormous companies like Apple , Samsung and etc , the factories producing them make small amount of knock offs . Think about it , when you want to a factory to make a product for you , you send the entire blueprint of the item , from size , print, color , wattage , type of plastic/metal and etc. The factory has all the details of your product , literally all. It is not the making of the fake product that is difficult but in the selling of these products and not getting caught. Because no factory wants to loose a consistent customer , especially the likes of Apple for the sole fact of making a side profit in faking their products. But small inconsistent and new companies that want to manufacture their products have it tough because their products are being copied and sold and there is nothing they can do about it. We have luckily established ourselves and have gotten to the point where it is unfavorable for the factory to produces fake products of ours but it still happens every now and then. There is A LOT to this "faking" of products and many details go into consideration , sometimes it's purely for profit and sometimes its purely for malicious intent. There are even people out there that would buy literally every single product you have , hire an engineer to copy every single thing from your products and mass produce it but slap a different name on it and sell it to YOUR buyers for a very competitive price for the sole fact to scare you away from certain locations , customers , business and etc. Biggest advice I can give is , find a trust worthy factory and work only with them and build their trust , patent the shit out of your products and have a witty lawyer.
This video is as entertaining to watch as it seems it was for Dave to make this video
It could be worse, some might sell that fake one at exactly the same price as the real one.

Hey Dave, love the video but I'd like to humbly suggest an improvement.
In the headphone sound comparison section, I think it would be better to swap between headphones mid-song to get a better idea of each sounds instead of letting the viewer forget their sound signature in the dialogue in between. This is something that audiophile channels that I watch like Rtings and Dankpods do.

I think another $50 of hardware can make it sound much better. But $200 is enough to get something like QC35 on sale.
Nah; the Airpods are actually worth the price. In pure audio quality, they are probably worth about $400-450, but the build quality, the way it syncs with the Apple ecosystem and the tech in it justify the extra $100-150....

i really don’t understand the people who make knockoffs. especially the second one which even has identical packaging. why spend so much time and effort trying to duplicate something? so much effort that is put into trying to have it as identical as the real deal? why not spend those time and effort trying to make your own original idea? at the end of the day, the cheap low-quality knockoff will always be a cheap low-quality knockoff, whereas if it is an original product you came up with, there’s room for improvement and one day you might find yourself success as a big player in the industry you step foot in one day (remember Apple started off in a garage and so did Microsoft) plus the morals of copying someone else’s idea and passing it off, and also potentially scamming an unknowing person into thinking he has the real product! not only is it illegal it is also highly immoral.
