This is Oneplus all over again. Cheap at the start, then a slight price increase the next and the next and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that.

@@anthonychung9466 As an original EarPods user and somebody who also has the EarPods Pro’s I can tell you after the 5 years of owning the original EarPods, the originals don’t last long ago at all anymore.
While our hopes and dreams are of holding onto them for as long as possible, realistically these wireless earbuds from any company are done after 3-5 years of a decent amount of usage.
***Airpods pros*** is what i mean't to say, but clearly people don't believe in mistakes... oooopsie LOL
honestly i feel like that's the reason why carl pei left oneplus. He wanted to keep everything unique and affordable but Pete Lau and the board prob had other ideas. So now he created nothing to actually create what he visioned Oneplus to be.

Probably still waiting for the water quality etc. to settle in, it is a new addition to the studio after all. Ideally it takes a few weeks until a month for the tank to be habitable

I love the concept of clear transparent tech. As Steve Jobs used to say "Tech has to be beautiful even if no one can see it". ear (1) represents that concept, but making it clearly visible to anyone. Hope they are worth it, gonna try them

Just like when around first iPhone or 2nd came out. People think I have a new iPhone which is clearly doesn't like one with sliding keyboard and 4 buttons on the front, which is standard for Android at that time.

The direction seems like it will be a new earphone "flagship killer" like OnePlus a few years ago with phones.
I'm curious to see how this company evolves.

Nah, not gonna happen. Their intention is to become a hypebeast brand, see the limited drops. To be flagship killers they need to sound great, but I'm pretty confident they're gonna be slight above average, with "average" being earphones that cost half as much

The sound and how good it feels to wear it are the most important for this kind of product.

My phone has a jack and I thought that was important at the time, but I can't remember the last time I used it. Bluetooth is just so convenient.

Dave is drawing the connection that based on Marketing and hype the sound quality isn't what will sell the product first and foremost.
Enthusiasts know this all too well in almost any market, and an audiophile would probably find the most popular or trendy device doesn't sound the best (heck I still see beats slammed on forums).
In reality does it matter, heck yeah, I still use wired headphones at my desk, beanbag or couch. But when you're going for a run or ride wireless is the go and you can forgive the minor differences in fidelity. And for $99 the expectations should be average anyways 😊

This is how easy a company manipulate 'what mass people should want'. From bigger phone that hard to hold, with less bezel so you will accidentally touch the screen, no headphone jack and non removable battery, and now THIS!
The only things I’m looking for in wireless earbuds is sound quality, comfort, and battery life before needing a charge.

@@anukul2421 Na bro, that can all be achieved and cost less that the air pods 2 or the beats earbuds. Definitely possible and be under 200. I use the Soundcore liberty 2 that I paid 140 for and they meet every criteria I listed.
You should look up UE Fits. I have them and they are pretty great sound and comfort wise. They mold to fit your ear so they should be the most comfortable earbuds there are. The battery hasn't been a problem. HOWEVER there is an issue where the earbuds will randomly disconnect on occasion and it can be extremely frustrating.
Go watch @mrwhosetheboss review , he said it sounds better than Airpods pro😁
that transparent case is a great idea! sometimes i'm unsure if my airpods are in their case...
Scratches don't bother me at all unless it's on a screen. I see no issue at all in something looking used... in fact i kind of like all the little scars my gadgets have because it reminds me i've got some good use out of them.
I am so impressed to hear finally some reviewer saying that the sound quality of these type of earbuds are actually almost irrelevant ! as they actually are.
sound is truly a subjective matter and with these price levels, all of them sound more or less the same. None of the sound bad and Dave hit it right to the point. Thank you !
Also if you’re getting wireless earbuds sound doesn’t matter as much as the features, the build, or the convenience. You’ll get decent sound but if your looking for great sound over everything then you’ll find some absolutely amazing iems especially for $100-300.

get a set of kz in ear monitors and their wireless adapter cable. It's not gonna be completely wireless but you'll have sound for days and the ability to replace the earpieces or cables sperately whilst spending ~

Sound quality is the number one for me not how they look
Not for teenagers who break everything and need something convenient. For wired earbuds yes sound quality is #1
Sledge Table $99 is expensive for breaking/losing. There are cheaper wired iems out there.

You're right. Audio aspect is the prime feature of earphone, looks come secondary. Its like food looking good but not sure if it tastes good.
He was talking about the average consumer/user. Most of them only care about the looks and the brand. So audio quality comes in last for them.

Honestly I wear wireless ear buds all day and weight hasn't been an issue.
It's one of those things where you notice the difference when you switch. Kinda like going from an LCD screen to an OLED. At first it may not seem like much, but once you make the transition it's hard to go back

Heavy marketing is required for any product so average consumers know it exists.
but for me, I would look a lot before buying any product, be it marketed or not. I have a much better earbud exp after testing 5 to 6 in the 50-100 usd range (thanks to amz return policy) and I found soundpeats truengine 3 (luckily in the cheaper lot) which gives me a fuller, richer, wider and most imprtly a LIGHTER listening exp. so, I would disagree to "sound doesnt matter" arg. The only drawback is it has an in-ear stem beneath the silicone (unlike comfy airpods 2) but at 50 bux I'd give it that....

Plenty of Apple users use AirPods or Beats earbuds and they think it sounds "amazing" when all they're listening to is MP3 files. iSheep don't know any better. They pay the Apple tax for the logo and "status" among their friends, relatives, etc.
Airpods sound quality actually is bad.. I wonder why Bigtime CZcamsrs don't talk about it. Its the convenience factor which makes airpods attractive. Its like kind of a must buy for iPhones.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M Im gonna be honest. I use the airpods gen 2 with wireless charging case. I don't like apple or their products. But ... I use these earbuds because of comfort. They are the only thing that feels good in my ears, I hate the tipped ones that stick in. And the sound quality isn't really terrible. Sure it's nothing amazing, but it's also not bad either. I have a pair of hifiman sundaras, so I know what good headphones sound like. Airpods are worth it for the comfort. Not the apple logo. And not the pros, I tried them and didn't like them.

AirPods are no longer the only wireless earbuds available. Therefore, that convenience argument doesn't give it an exclusive advantage. iSheep will obviously buy it if they have an iPhone not to mention that they love paying the Apple tax for that Apple logo on the box.
None of that changes the fact that the sound quality isn't high-end.
The kind of perspective he brings out in his reviews is fascinating. . .just makes one a better consumer.

I've got some $40 random wireless earbuds from Amazon which work just fine (like Dave said, sound quality isn't a huge factor for a product in this class) but I'm intrigued and would consider these, will be keeping an eye on them

I use sound liberty 79’s and they sound very very good especially for the price. i got them for 30 bucks refurbished on amazon. waterproof, 8hours battery life without recharging. cant complain at all. only downside is that they have a bit of delay, so no games, but i dont game on my phone, so doesn’t matter.
The OnePlus buds are at 40 dollars too I think, and you can use the free shipping or 10 dollar off coupons they give out.

Idk why, but the, "Let's talk" part of the title on a product review video is genius. It's inviting. It makes you feel like you're part of a conversation, and then comment section is truly where you then inject your part to the video. Dave, maybe consider running a playlist/series on that phrase: Let's Talk. Idk if you would want to do 2 videos per product, but you could have a "let's talk" and then a full review video later. Just some free brainstorming for ya.

Probably in a minority here, but I couldn't care less how the look, how easy they are to use, how long the battery lasts or how much they cost. If a company doesn't advertise amazing sound quality front and centre, my interest is instantly lost. Its just so bizarre to me that headphones are not sold based on how they sound. Probs just me

Definitely not just you and I’ll agree with Anthony’s sound to price comment but it’s hard to compete in a narcissistic society if you don’t have the aesthetic to back it up.

That's understandable if your primary sound device is earbuds but I believe that most people who use these kinds of devices don't particularly care for sound quality (Remember how popular beats were?). I think people like me who are more concerned for sound quality use earbuds as an on-the-go/mobile sound device and use good headphones at home where I don't need to worry about convenience/mobility. It's difficult to achieve relatively good sound quality and most people can't tell the difference so it's more logical to focus on features that appeal to the target audience and match the intended usage.
fortunately there are lots of headphones that are built with a heavy focus on audio quality. but the most popular devices tend to focus on other areas. that being said. these might sound amazing. but good sound quality is something that is incredibly hard to market well. that's why most of the best sounding devices aren't particularly strong sellers despite being popular amongst that the audio enthusiast crowd

I usually like Dave's content, but this one's an exception. He's fueling the hype of a product prior to its release. I know it's just his point of view, but the problem is that his followers may blindly buy the product solely from this opinion alone. I want to hear an unbiased announcement first or an actual review so I can get informed of the pros and cons, not just hype.
