Season 1 - Nilfgard wants Ciri
Season 2 - Literally everyone in the continent wants Ciri (including the wild hunt )
Exactly, dumb af
The emperor was just ahead of the continent.
JOHN WICK. Hunted by everyone. Ciri
I love that Ciri and Geraldt have a strong father-daughter relationship that lets them support eachother (: especially for whats to come in the next season
I love that as well. That’s my favourite trope on TV.
I saw some certain movies where their relationship was not like father-daughter unless you are from Alabama. 😁
I can appreciate there relationship because they each stand to gain some sense of family in being tied together however what I don’t like is what the relationship is doing to Geralts character he’s slowly becoming a hypocrite he pretty much was was easily willing to kill his friend else’k and deem it as something that needed to be done or he had no choice, but with Ciri he’s breaking his rules of his own established duty just because she is who she is to him. Ciri was possessed and His withcher colleagues were dying at his feet left and right but still he thought she was worth saving this only showed me that he would willing watch the world burn before being forced to kill Ciri which is dangerous for a witcher whose duty is to slay monsters and dangerous entities to the world.
The hunt is coming. join us.
I can't stand ciri to be honest her character always goodie goodie then all of a sudden a baddie no thank you
I love that yennifer lost her power this season. She always takes it for granted. But now she realize how important magic truly is for her. And she realize with or without magic she's worth it. Character developement! I can't wait to see her all powerful and teaching Ciri.
really good comment. Found it good as well that cuz of Tissaia, Yen became a good teacher to Ciri. There is power in good coaching. showed a lot of character.
She will find it back in season 3
@@tzuu5249 her powers? she already did at season 2 (spoiler alert)
She never did. She was the one who earned her powers fully.
Have you even watched it
I was not expecting bard to have abs. It got me off guard lol
I didn’t know the shattered black door was the destroyed monolith. Homegirl was WAY closer to betraying Ciri and Geralt than I thought 💀
@michael brown I guess they figure it out whilst attempting to kill the monsters. I mean they’re Witchers💁🏽♂️, trained for the most part of their lives to kill monsters known and unbeknownst to them.
@michael brown yeah they made a cool as fuck leshen and killed it by a cgi beast in 2 seconds lmfao
LITERALLY i had to connect the dots right when they started to run💀😭
But what was gunna happen to ciri at the black door hole?
@@AnatoliaElle she was able to be possessed because she was in proximity to the door
I really enjoyed season two especially the relationship with Geraldt and Ciri 🥰 when he held up his sword to Yen’s neck and said MINE 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yeah that was one of my favorite scenes of season 2.
When he said "to kill a monster" when Ciri asked where he was going in that scene I was like "Oh damn, will he try to kill Yenn? No, he cant"
The 'MINE' totally reminded me of Wattpad werewolf vibes. Thought the Directors have read too many books and are having way too much fun with the script.
My fav. Scene
it was the. "MINE!" part that had me whimpering "yes daddy"
Yennifer's dream about her and Geralt's baby being taken away by the red hooded mage must be a prediction like a metaphor about Voleth Meir wanting to take Siri away who happens to be Geralt's Daughter/Child by the Law of Surprise. And will be Yennifer's disciple since she's gonna teach her how to use Chaos properly.
Ciri will be more than just Geralts daughter child of surprise and Yennefer's disiple. She will be their daughter in every way but blood. The metaphor if that's what it was is most likely about everyone not just Voleth meir trying to take Ciri whom Yennefer and Geralt views as their own. The hunt while approaching the three said Ciri is theirs and that's the exact thing Yennefer says in her dream.
Also if you noticed, it is the same room Ciri picked when she and Geralt arrived at Kaer Morhen.
I thought the girl in the hut with yen, was a young Tissea, as she called her piglet, and yen has always looked up to her, and with out her powers, she letting her down
I think this guy is wrong because she looked a lot like Tissea. You're right
i thought it was yen’s imaginary daughter lol
It couldnt have been Tissea. If your familiar with the franchise, a lot of the subplots in the Witcher series are often loosely based around actual fairytales. For instance "The Deathless Mother" is in relation to the slavic fairytale of "Baba Yaga". There are other examples already in the series. Such as Renfri and her band of warriors is loosely based on Snow White and the seven dwarves.
In the final episode, when they arrive at Kaer Morhen, Yen says "Before Voleth Meir showed me her true self, she came to me as a little girl. Some fucked up version of myself." The fact that she called her piglet is just a projection of her own insecurities, associating her power and magical ability with her self-worth.
That makes a lot more sense. I was wondering why it wasn't just her old self taking. I never thought of piglet because I've always thought it was a nickname she never liked, because it was what tissia called her at the very beginning and it was more associated with her being ugly. But I guess you can say it has become a term of endearment of sort since tissia still calls her that. Also yen did mention it was a twisted version of younger self.
9:58 Voleth Meir did not materialize as Eredin. She materialized as the skull rider on the right of Eredin instead at 12:54
Enjoyed the season , Triss was annoying lol, It was sad seeing the Witcher’s drop like flies too. Cavil killed it yet again. The dwarves were hilarious 😂
yeah, i hated how those witcher's went down so easy & so many of them.
I was surprised first why they added so many witchers as the book only had geralt,Lambert, eskel and Coen.
But by the end it's understandable that they were just cannon fodder to kill off
And vesemir*
I don t think that triss Was annoying, but i also loved the dwarfs
Them killing eskel was weird and caused by them adding the stupid deathless mother plot line. Best thing to happen to witcher would kicking out hissrich and letting Cavil direct the show with better writers with him.
There's something deeply sad about how voleth meir kills the witchers in their sleep. We're always told the phrase "No Witcher ever died in his bed", yet on that night several did.
I thought witchers don’t sleep too
Voleth Meir didn’t materialize as the leader of the wild hunt, if you go back and watch the clip again, she became the rider to his right with the fluff on top of the helmet and the skeletal looking face, they even had different armor. It’s a confusing scene because right after she joins the group it skips scene to the leader yelling out to ciri but when it phases out you can see the rider Voleth Meir became/possessed on his right in the front line
yes,, voleth is not the leader .. glad someone cleared that out
Agreed, watched the scene a few time and can confirm. But Voleth IS part of the Wild Hunt, so the rest of them can be at least as bad. The leader the worst.
Yeah this is the second major source that has gotten it wrong, I watched a video yesterday where the person made the same mistake.
@@brucedilferson9822 This guy made another mistake as well. The brotherhood isnt searching for ciri to marry her off to vizenir lol. They want to prevent exactly that.
From the design of the helmet I believe it's Nithral she turned into

Favourite moment: realising that Gerald told Yen in Season 1 “I’d rather use my Child Surprise as Bruxa bait” then seeing this exact scene play out in Episode 1.
Anybody find it weird and confusing that Vesimir was intent on turning Ciri into a Witcher, but then would her blood still be elder blood or would it be Witcher blood? Because if she is no longer elder blood, than there goes their one and only shot at making more Witchers again… 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
You caught that too? I couldn't sleep on it😂😂😂
I literally just commented the Bruxa line in another video 😅
I guess she would be a unique hybrid of partly elve and Witcher. She’d have both bloods running through her veins…It wouldn’t be a stretch considering how powerful she is. 🤷🏽
What I REALLY can’t understand, is why they cast a half Jamaican actress to be Francesca, then made her white for the whole Season 2… someone explain this to me…?
@@chehancock4485 Uhhhh, there has only been one actress to portray Francesca in the Witcher series and she is indeed bi-racial. Perhaps you are confused.

Well, it‘s bad writing, it‘s what it’s is…unfortunately the potholes are ‚original story‘, so you won‘t find any explanation in the books…go on Reddit and see what the fandom is saying, but I warn you…it‘s depressing

Interesting to me that Ciri is the key to a lot, like the creation of Witchers and the answer to a lot of mysteries but I think when one door closes, MANY more open up!
Although in the books and Witcher lore, Witchers creation got nothing to do with Ciri or her elder blood, this is just a show thing.
@@Jo24689 well in books there is no details. Imho books are just intro and only games created the rich world.
@@AtaiMuratbekov books are just intro? that is funny, who told you that, did you read the books?
@@SLAWXP1 yeah. Compare books and games. Books tell like 10-20% of the story. No details, no character details and stories except few ones... Only in games the world became rich, characters became lively and not just random names and cameos and... Books doesnt have an ending. What happened to Geralt and yen? They lived or died? What about wild hunt? Etc... Only games gave us the ending. So... Books were good as intro, and the real thing were shown in games. If not for games popularity books would never became so popular!!!
Ciri is the key, but in the final she was a stupid key. Tbh she should have seen right through the demonic memories from the start. Really ruined the finale for me seeing witchers drop like flies cause Ciri is so stupid she can't tell reality apart... At the least, showing her trying to break free and failing from the onset would have been better... but no she's just chilling with her dead folks and ignoring all prompts from Geralt.
The one thing I hated about second season is the other Witchers. Like in the games you rarely meet them and when you do its in a way they become secret basically and you dont see many of them dying but here you see Witchers dying like basic folks in both series. Yes I know they are not the MC but still, for what name they have in the world they dont deserve to be discarded like that...
Yeah in the games a side witcher feels like he would be almost as competent as geralt but in the series feels like they are just mercernaries
Well in the end they were fighting monsters that were not of their world so of course they struggled.
It almost pissed me off. Geralt is the strong one 🙄, yes but doesn't mean you downplay the others to the point that without Geralt, they're incompetent. I call BULL
@@nerdifymusic7322 it’s because Geralt is inherently stronger the other witchers it hasn’t been stated in the Netflix series but geralt underwent like a basically stronger version of the trial of grasses and so he’s stronger than the rest
@@JDSuper110 What random stuff? He went through the same trial as the other orphans Vesemir raised. The trial is same for all witchers, it always was the same.
When Triss and Ciri see her parents before they board the ship her father has just become aware of her powers, I thought he's the white flame. There was no way he could have gotten to use her while Calanthy lived, while Cintra was strong. I guess he set out to take them all down first to use her. Of course there's no one to left to warn her that her father may be the bad guy now he just looks like he's a father desperate to get his daughter back... he's after the power.
Love the season 2. Went by pretty quick. I wish there were more episodes. 8 seem a little short. Even though I am not shocked to see the ending because I play the video game but it was still exciting.
@epicwolf make you realize how difficult the writers job is. They can't make any quality surprise cos half the world knows it. Guess that's why they're trying different route like the political angle and the volet Meir thingy
9:59 Just a quick clarification, if you watch the scene carefully, you will note that Voleth Meir materialises as a rider of the Wildhunt, not as Eredin himself. Just to let you know xD.
You’ll note that Duny didn’t disintegrate the same way Ciri’s mother did in the illusion
yeah I notice it too, it was a clue.
I noticed that, struck me as odd. I guess it makes sense.
well, only 50% population was snapped into nonexistence.
I was saying that, that means he was actually there that’s crazy
I noticed he didnt start to turn until he touched his wife(cirris mom)
A few nitpicks here and there: Cahir knew Frangilla wasn't the one with the plan, he was telling her to take credit for it and let him "rave" about this accomplishment to Emhyr. Ciri's visions in episode 3 weren't of another sphere, they were about the woods where the Leshy was. Voleth Meir isn't Eredin, they're two separate entities. I'm pretty sure the show implied that King Vizimir and Dijkstra's plans for Ciri aren't in line with what the Brotherhood wants, which is probably to get rid of her.
yup, glad someone else pointed all this out so that I don't have to type it haha.
Absolutely loved this season, it's like a more exciting and accessible Game of Thrones. Can't wait for Blood Origins. Netflix should make a bigger deal of The Witcher.

I have to say, this season was SO much better. 9/10. But especially episode one was phenomenal. The ending truly shocked, moved and disgusted me all at once. I was totally engrossed and it made me feel exactly the same way the game did with its biggest plot twist quests.
S1 E1was amazing, but I found the rest of the season to be lack luster. Given that, I loved S2 E1, but I was skeptical. However, by the end of E2 when Geralt began to train Ciri I knew it was gonna be an amazing season and I was right
Episode 1 reminded me of how in the games you are never sure if you made the right choice, when you leave a mission you are always conflicted

Jaskiers and Yennerfers love hate friendship was amazing this season and I hope there's more of it in season 3
Can we just see more of Yennefer and Geralt being honest for their feelings of each other, instead of them dancing around. Lol
Quite annoying they keep dancing around
Well, Geralt won't outright say it because his Witcherness, and Yen cannot let her guards down either. She hates being vulnerable, like that's been her main character flaw. She wants power and even emotional vulnerability is "weakness" for her.

I was actually relieved that they killed Eskel off after seeing how they turned him into a super annoying character… other than that I don’t mind the rest of the changes much.
Wish they showed more Witcher training tho (including the Bestiary and some other lores).
Yea.. They turned eskel into lambert 😂
@@kly2266 I seriously though he was Lambert, before they call him Eskel :D
Yeah, I didn't like the take on Eskel, but it seems they switched maybe eskel with coen? Idk but I didn't like the take and whilst I didn't mind the death of this rendition of Eskel, I did like the character
Eskel was the only downside honestly. Like the character but this take not that much. Rest was amazing. Bestiary would be cool but not neccesary
The small witcher training they showed already cost the show so much money. Hopefully we get more tho
The elves spent the whole season complaining about how they were defenseless against human cruelty and then commit a genocide in like one afternoon. If they could do that why haven't they been fighting back?
Well they only have one mage and their population is tiny in comparison. And the genocide was against defenseless babies, so it was more revenge than actually fighting back. If they fought back for real without an alliance, they will be wiped out really fast I think.
Maybe they can only do it under certain circumstances? Like, she could kill all those newborns because she lost her own?
@UCKD0gv2ZK3qmd-9zAbS2R1A she's seen humans hurting, destroying and killing her kind throughout her whole life. There comes a time where you stop seeing them as "innocent" and "not innocent" and just as enemies
She only kills newborns, so I dont think that really shows any strength at all. If they could they'd kill all the other adults too.
Elves and Fairies always annoy me for some reason.
I’ve followed your channel for some time now. I think your videos are getting better and better :)

I love this show, but one of the things that kind of annoyed me is the "Yennefer is the only mage that has helped and/or can help Ciri get ahold of her powers" narrative this season. Ciri didn't exactly TRY to practice with Triss, like at all. Would've been nice to at least show the two practicing and failing instead of us conveniently being told Ciri and Yennefer are this match made in heaven.
Triss is scared of Ciri's power and she told Ciri will destroy the world..so she can't really help Ciri because Ciri needs someone who isn't afraid of her but who can teach and help her

You gotta have some surprises to the story line. I mean Marvel movies definitely don’t follow the comics and I don’t see people complaining about them lol.

Excellent recap!
The first series got me into the games during lockdown, then when I was ill with covid I listened to the books and was pleasantly surprised too. It's clear this series visually they have tried to make some more nods to the game's visuals with Triss and Ciri. The stuff with Francesca & the Brotherhood was good, but the thing with Eskel and some of the dark mother bits just seemed like an unforced stumbling block. At some point in the series, they really need to put in pierogis, pepper vodka, and some of the kinds of stuff that differentiates the Sapkowski, even if that might be a bit more prominent in the game than the books (I can't fully remember anymore)
I don’t remember Francesca having any direct association with the brotherhood🤔. Her dealings were with Nilfgard in-which I wouldn’t consider them a part of the brotherhood.
@Duster Bomar audible, Last Wish, Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, and more although I haven't bought and listened through the rest

I love the Witcher games and now the books. Having a fan of both mediums playing the lead role and the producer promising to be true to the author's vison despite some dramatic license, is what is making the series so good. Originally I was a fan of the Netflix show to see Geralt do his thing but now I personally see this as suitable replacement for Game of Thrones in its political intrigue and character development.
Thanks for the video.

I keep repeat scenes since it flips drama very good.
I really love the emphasis on new Demons & monsters.
Also, it's incredible how those creatures that attack Ciri are extremely intrigued by her before they kill...

Just finished the 2nd season of the Witcher and oh my holy god this season is such an improvement on the 1st season: the world building has expanded, plot lines and motivations are reasonable and make sense, and the visual and sound effects were exceptional.
This season is fun, touching, and an amazing story, I can’t wait for season 3. The only people that I think are upset with this season are hardcore book fans (Of witch I consider myself) that are complaining about the lack of adherence to the books. Although I understand where they are coming from, I think that the writers, showrunner, and director need creative liberties to be able to put their own spin on an already amazing franchise.
Overall I’d rate this season an 84% as compared to the previous season’s 56%.
SAME, I've read a lot of book fans hate on the changes made (especially about the reveal of Emhyr being Ciri's father among others). And I honestly want to say that if you don't like the drastic alterations then don't watch it then. I'm honestly glad that they revealed Emhyr this season because many potential scenes with him would be wasted if there's no face reveal. The only reason why it worked in the books is because the book medium is more descriptive and the author could hide the big reveal by not describing certain things about the character until later. But a series is a visual medium so it would be more challenging to not make a revelation early on.
Honestly the only main change that I have problems with is Yennefer and Ciri's relationship being founded from betrayal. Their mother-daughter relationship was one of my favorite things in the books. I'm hoping Season 3 could at least make it somewhat believable. But to everything else I was actually cool with the changes like Istredd and Geralt not having a showdown over Yennefer, Triss Merigold didn't sexually betray Yennefer by sleeping with Geralt (I honestly like this version of Triss), Jaskier and Yennefer bonding as friends, and the monolith explanation for new monsters which may even give a reason for new witchers to be created or for existing ones to increase their prices.
I also hope we get more Philippa and Dijkstra in Season 3 (also some sort of scene that shows Philippa is LGBTQ, if there's one thing among the supporting characters that I hope remains unchanged it would be Philippa being lesbian). I absolutely LOVE the Dijkstra scenes.
@@gazepreyed Phillipa being LBGTQ will be the only thing they DONT change in this series, smfh
im a huge fan of the books and games the first season as ive said in another thread was messy because as you know the first book was a series of short stories about geralt's adventures and people he met along the way leading up to ciri ..all in all the first season while confusing at times did well to actually introduce us to the characters and there stories/history which was explained alot more in later books ..
As for the second season well it was fantastic ( well mostly ) they fixed triss's hair colour which was a plus .
the biggest dumb was killing off a witcher thats still alive while not mentioned much in the other books is still in the games .. im not sure what the purpose was with that there was all these other witchers that were at kaer morhen that had no attachment to the later books games etc., but we kill off that specific one is just stupid
glossing over ciri's witcher training was also silly as it plays a huge part later on in the books and the story
i get the reason why they rushed through the story in places it doesnt make for good TV but does remove some context to characters and interesting things later on in the story arc
cannoning yen as the main love interest was a slight let down but i get it ..
the fluff of the last episode was never in the books but once again made for good TV and was enjoyable
otherwise i loved the season alot more than the first and like you look forward to season 3 and 4 i just hope they stay to a point close to the books !!
Same season 1 is a 6 for me season 2 is an 8.
I want what ever your smoking
I don't think "Voleth materialises as Eridin". May be wrong but it looked to me that Voleth materialises as another rider to join back with the Wild Hunt in that scene
Yeah, I agree.
Yes, that’s the one inaccuracy I noted. The rider didn’t materialize with a helmet if I remember correctly. Plus, Eridin is a man, if that means anything in this sphere.
So does this mean voleth is a member of the wild hunt? She was created for the series only right?
@@adampreece9617 the wild hunt and the brotherhood I believe. Was she not the new member when they were sitting at the table and she told her welcome to the brotherhood?
I’ve never read the books and just started the series last Saturday and I’m already finished. Fantastic!!
Watching this as soon as I finish the season!!
You'd think that SUNY/The White Flame would be grateful to Geralt for keeping his daughter safe
Well, in the game he eventually is and they work together. But I'm not sure if the books are the same.
Well in the books he wanted to bone his daughter so........
@@anmolyadav3880 noooo, I had almost forgotten that part of the cannon 😭 but it's not just him, basically everyone in the books wants to bone ciri.

This was great recap with so much going on Season 2 at times one can get tangled. Season 2 for me was beyond my expectations just do not have a glass of wine in your hands.
Nice video so good
The second series is absolutely amazing.all the characters did a brilliant job.
Agree. I just hope thpse rumors of Henry Cavil leaving the show arent true.
Wait!!! What?!!! I thought he signed on for seven seasons? He loves the games so much and a major reason they stay close to the source material
@@nerdifymusic7322 he is on board to do the 7 seasons but apparently the filming has been such a hassle and is interfering with him filming anything else. Like i said they could just be rumors, i sure hope they are.
@@Josh-vv9sz I wouldn’t believe rumors you can literally tweet at him and he’ll respond
@@Josh-vv9sz they’re just rumors, actors can’t just randomly break contract because it’s a lot of work to do their job?
I thought s2 was better polished than s1 in almost every aspect. Definitely exceeded my expectation for the show! Can't wait to see s3
I apprehensively watched the series. Just finished. Extremely glad I dove in. 💛💛💛💛 Excellent!
Loved this season! Can't wait for more
So basically the whole world is after Ciri. Even other worlds. They are going to need a lot more help.
thats what Witcher 3 game is all about lol , everyone hunting her lol
They got jokes!
Season 2 was phenomenal. It improved upon everything from season 1.
season one was a bit of a mess because the first book was actually a series of short stories about geralt's adventures and the people he met up to meeting ciri they tried to cram in everything to quickly to make sense to newbies to the story so they had to introduce everyone and then try to make the actual story about ciri make sense which ( while it was okay ) was kinda hit and miss and confusing at times
you and i must have watched something different because season 2 was truly terrible, imo - poor writing, overly long dialogue, terrible story, etc. season 1 was amazing
@@elck3 To be fair, there is a lot of dialogue to cover and I think the show did a great job capturing that view especially when there is much to cover. But saying it was "bad writing" "terrible story"? I doubt you actually understood what was going on.
Hmm, I found this season to be a crawl. Basically you can sum up 6 hrs in 1 sentence. To me it's a sign of things to expect with this series. 6-7 seasons longs of inconsequential filler stuff.
It was shit
Thank you for the book part, I know it's far but I personally want to see Regis and Avallach, also how they portray the world of aen elle.
First, great recap! I binged all q6 episodes in 2 days. I'm sad there's only 8 episodes and more than likely only be 8 episodes for s3 but man does the witcher have such great story telling action and flow. Definitely gives me my fix for fantasy rpg stuff. Way above wheel of time
I don’t know anyone that watches the show, so I’m excited to have a conversation about it. This season definitely was focused on growing the characters and world building, which is great. However, I think everyone is like wait… now we have to wait yearssss for probably the most eventful season with the characters all together 😩. Season 2 was great, just wish they tacked on another 8 episodes for season 3. This felt like The Two Towers. A lot of necessary storytelling, BUT NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT YEARS FOR THE VOLCANO.
@Shoop I totally agree! They should definitely add on more episodes in Season 3 and the wait for that.. OMG! Hopefully we can circle back to the comment section when that happens)
If you can somehow forget the books and just judge this season on its own, it was incredible! The acting, the effects, the locations all AAA quality. The episodes were all close to a full hour in length, also a huge bonus! Revealing the White Flames identity though is a big departure from the source material and I'm interested in seeing where they go from here. I was thoroughly entertained!
Absolutely loved watching season 2!!! Can’t wait for S3!!
I loved it !!!! It was amazing!!!!!
i enjoyed season 2, never read the books & only played maybe 1/2 the 1st game.
Going by the game alone this series "seems" to be doing good.
I never had any expectations of what was going to happen so for me it was really good.
I am guessing a majority of people will like it.
so you didnt missed Eskel in the first game at all?
Just buy to the game The Witcher 3 already, the game has 7 years already but it is great! Awesome stories and quests!
@@ConanOG i HAVE all 3, it's just NOT right to go & play 2 & 3 when you never finish #1
I enjoy the "slog" fight mechanics of the 1st game, it's interesting & Wonder why they didn't continue it with later games.
Yeah it's Not easy but once you are used to it it ADD's to the WHOLE feel of the game.
I played just a few hrs of #2 , never loaded up #3 & i bought all the games for PC & xbox.
This season was amazing. Loved the Bruxa and the introduction of more signs. Didn't see Yrden though. I played the Witcher 3 so I was particularly excited to see familiar characters. Wished there were more Jaskier and Geralt scenes.
Let's hope COVID doesn't delay season 3. All shows should film two seasons all at once from now on just in case. Binged all episodes in one go so I know I missed things, your recaps are needed!
That is fucking stupid
Geralt and Vesemir casted yrduen when ciri got possed by the deathless mother and started summoning monsters (before they monsters started killing the witchers and vesemir rage quit yrduen)
I remember seeing igni aard axii and yrden throughout the show so far Im pretty sure he used the last sign in the first episode on renfri too but I’m not sure
I binged The Witcher the holiday weekend. Just me, my dog and a boatload of Chinese takeout and snacks. Best Christmas ever!!!
Anyone else notice that the spheres in the intro match the eye colors of Yen, Geralt, and Ciri? Great detail by the writers!
Unpopular opinion: I kinda liked season 1 more😅. But loved season 2 anyways😊
I preferred season 1. I liked season 2 but it was underwhelming to me.
@@smileawhile23 Same here. It needs more monsters and the lore of this world scenes more. If they were going for the purpose of season 2 being the season to set up the coming seasons then it's good but otherwise, underwhelming. I find myself lost in interest whenever any other scenes other than geralt are shown.
I agree. Ciri's training could've been summed up in 5mins and Geralt & Yen's scenes was a let down.
More fight scenes with geralt would be nice
yeah, too much convenience plot and badly written in certain parts.
-Jaskier didn't serve any purpose this season. he's only here for fan service.
-They nerved the other witchers to be completely useless. there were 2 attacks that happened in their home: the tree monster & the fire mage. there was like 11 of them there, but none of them showed up. it was like they didn't care to involve anyone other than Geralt and Vesimir. the 3rd attack happen by possessed Ciri, and they died so easily. weren't they supposed to be the most expert monster hunter? doesn't matter. the plot wants us to think Ciri is dangerous now. so she got to kill a few witchers 🙄.
-Ciri's shield went down for whatever reason for Vesimir to just stab her a little and to show she's even more badass bc she can heal herself 🙄
-In the end, it was the cliché talk no jutsu that saves everyone. And just when about Yennefer was about to get interesting again by being a new vessel for the hut hut witch, they instantly throw her away to another dimension. yeah, that easily too.
-also for a powerless witch, Yennefer really escape from a very tightly secured event so conviniently. not even a guard/archerer/mage outside the event was present to even "fake chase" her.
-Geralt not caring his friends are dying behind his back. bc Ciri is waaaaay more important now. not only that, the other witchers left alive seems to be ok with it too. like yoo, if you wanna nerf their skill, at least let them still be a loyal brotherhood. but whatever. Ciri's the main focus so side characters don't matter I guess.
-so many more. they have decent story, but very sloppy execution. S1 had less story, but was more solid. Maybe the scope was too big that the plot becomes unnatural, and characters acting out of what they would actually do.
People judge S2 due to not being book accurate but I think it was well made for both book readers and non book readers
Well made yes, but it changed too many important things
F books it’s an adaptation. People who want books story re read them
@@lewystyles It’s not even an adaptation at this point; they’ve strayed too far from the source material. We want to see our favourite series come to life, and I guarantee that anyone who hasn’t read the books would enjoy the show if it actually stayed true
Yes, there are absolutely no points of critique other than "it’s not true to the books"🤦♂️
I'd agree if the line was only pertaining to the first episode "A grain of truth", that one was made with both sets of fans in mind. It made changes to fit the narrative they started with season 1, but basically, those of us who read the books still recognize it as the same story, but improved by adding more context in the ending.
Without going into details, the rest of the changes the series made were really jarring, like breaking expectations just for the sake of breaking it. Granted, will still be watching this series to see it through, but comparisons will always be made between the books and the series. And so far, the novels still told a better, more coherent and grounded story
wachting this with my wife and i played the games and knowing some of the reveals ahead of time was great like the Phillipa reveal or Emhry being her dad it was great seeing her face on that one
Saw it and played the game years ago. Movie was great, changed a bit from the game but still terrific. It left me wanting more and thought it would be longer than it was. Will wait patiently for the next series that cant come too soon.
As a book fan, I did not appreciate Yeniffer's betrayal. This would never happen in the book, they had mother-daughter relationship. Part 1 in season 2 was really good. The ending was good.
Not sure how far Netflix will go with this show. To me the witcher team seemed unhappy with the show during the whole promotional period.
I thought it was only me who noticed Henry Cavill being somewhat unhappy with the direction of the season.
I've never read the book but I thought it didn't make sense. Mean the time it took for her to realise how much ciri meant to geralt? I mean she didn't even question how geralt is bringing ciri there or how geralt used to mot want to claim the child of surprise. And on top of that how clever yennefer is and she couldn't figure why that witch wanted a little kid. I mean I get she's desperate and all, but she's never one who gets out of control like that. She even stayed on that place when she figured Yadier could be missing even though she was so desperate to get away and knows she had no magic. It shows a lot of restraint and level headedness even when she is so desperate. So it didn't make sense at all why it took her so long to realise she couldn't do and wouldn't do that to ciri. But everything leading up to her teleporting with ciri even when geralt managed to catch her right before stepped over, I could still be okay with that.
I hate Yeniffer- so her betrayal was epic as far as I am concerned.
@@holohulolo I got the impression it was because that’s how powerful Voleth M was at sticking her fingers in her pain. You’d do anything to make it stop that it was much harder to turn away than it was to betray. It took so much more strength for Yen to say no to VM than it would have been to betray Ciri…if that makes sense?? All the other times she wasn’t acting under the influence of VM…she’d been saying no to her until that point she’s caught
Season two was great. Having not read the books, a lot of things went over my head. But the action scenes were awesome and so were the actors.
Very well done. Gave you a like and bailed, right as you warned of book spoilers as I haven't read them yet. I appreciate your consideration! Will subscribe once I get caught up with the reading, lol!
Bloody loved it stayed up 6.30am Saturday binge watching whole season.💖🐩🐩💖🐾❄️🎄🎅🕊🌈🇬🇧
Man i just hope season 3 doesn’t take as long to come out as s2 did
they’re finished with script writing for s3. just needs to be shot now
I just think it’s really stupid though for the emperor to have the baby killed what makes him think that would make the elves want to help join his people when it was his people that killed their baby. Especially once they find out the elves would just want to vengeance against them because of what they did.
Yeah. The only thing it will do is weaken the enemy as the elves attack. But it will also completely turn the elves against man
Was a great season, I loved some of the things from the video games that they included!
I've spilled my tea at the '' FAMILY '' part xD i swear i heard it with Toretto's voice :D
