Thanks Bridge for doing this video. It's helped me connect the dots I didn't previously understand. Now I'm ready for season 3 !
thanks, Luna!
im about to watch season 3. pretty excited! i hope you enjoy =)))
Awesome video
thanks =))
this was literally the best recap of all times
lol i dont know about that, but i just lol'd with a smile. thank you for being kind =))
@@bridge4Thank you 🙂
That isn't what Geralt wished... He wished for her never to be away from him...
I love this recap! After watching season 2 what feels like a million years ago I’d forgotten almost everything. Thanks for making a great video!
i have never read the book and never played the game for that reason i was so confused when i watched the series, a lot of things didn't make sense to me and this where the show got it wrong , if you know nothing about the The Witcher you will be lost .anyway with this recap ,i am in much better potions to understand the story but still there is a lot of characters and a lot of different people and species with different motive to remember, thank you for the recap was very helpful
yeah, i hear ya. i remember enjoying Season 1, but thinking to myself that the timelines were going to mess with people. season 2 was a lot different than the books, but the show is holding true to key themes, and its headed in the same direction. its a great story. i hope you enjoy part 3 =))
Thank you so much for making this. I think I knew most of not all of what happened, but you summed it all up in a way that helped me understand it better. Putting all the pieces together about Ciri's dad was the biggest help. I'm kinda conflicted about going forth with the series, knowing about the recasting for season 4. IDK. I'll still give HK my full support for season 3 though. Can't wait
thanks, Heather
Henry was a fantastic Geralt. but here's the way i look at it... the witcher is the only show i've ever seen Henry in, and I've enjoyed plenty of other shows because there are thousands and thousands of talented actors out there
it is going to be strange when we first see the new actor in season 4 episode 1. it happened in the show Spartacus when the actor sadly passed away. but once you watch an hour or two with the new actor, it ends up being fine as long as the actor is doing a good job =))
i guess its also worth noting that i was raised on musicals, especially Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. so i've seen and enjoyed countless different Jean val jeans and Eponine's for instance
@@bridge4 I don't think I'm adverse to a recast, but more to the reason behind it. I've seen many recasts that have worked well. (I preferred Dario II). IDK. We'll see what happens whenever they get around to season 4. That's a ways away. Super excited to see where the journey brings us next
@@bridge4 also, I didn't like Mark in the cinematic version of Rent, but when I saw a Broadway performance on CZcams, I fell in love with him. It probably didn't help that I wasn't a fan of the actor for the movie, so..... lol
im with ya on Daario 2. he is a great actor! (the house on haunting hill is a good one, and i dont even like that genre typically)
I always love your recap, reviews and little spoilers. I have never read the books and get a lot of background information from you. I can’t wait for the season to start.
thanks, Trecester!! =))
Hands down the best recap. Actually explains instead of just regurgitating main plot points.
Bridge4 comes to the rescue once again🙌
lol i dunno about that. but thanks for the early click and comment. it means a lot! =))

Even more confused after watching this 😭, but I think it's probably just me. I do wish you did it chronologically though!
i hear ya. sometimes i do that, but i decided to go with a topical approach to this one since there are so many characters that chronologically would've been a looooot of jumping back and forth between different subplots
I watched 3 recaps and was still confused - this recap was literally the best one ever!!! Ty
Wow, this was so good! I really like the series but I was feeling a bit lost with all the different storylines and characters... you did such an amazing job! I'll definitely come to you for all my recaps from now on! 🙌
Holy this is amazing. Helped me understand the entire series so well
i love this story and these characters. glad it was helpfull =))
Dude, well done. The attention to detail is much appreciated! I'm excited to see what else you cover.
Absolutely the best and most comprehensive recap. Now everything makes sense. Thank you!!!
This was by far the best and most detailed explanation of The Witcher. Thank you so much for your hard work and time. 🙏
Absolutely great recap! So many things got clearer now!
Dude, I was like yes Witcher s3 releases tomorrow! Then thought crap I need a refresher and bam, you just dropped this. Awesome love your vids and good to hear your voice.
thanks, bjorn! i hope you enjoy Season 3 =))
Amazing recap! Way to think outside of the box and not just follow the order of events on the show like most other recaps on here.
Thank you so much! I’ve been a little confused while watching and finishing up season 2.
Great breakdown of the events so far. I'm ready for the 1st part of season 3 now.
Excellent recap. Thank you, earned a follower
thanks, Zguzman!
bridge4 coming in clutch. Thanks for the recap!
thanks so much, was starting season 3, and had forgotten all of this stuff
Thanks this was really helpful as I had taken a gap between season 1 and 2 and forgot everything
Finally I'm able to understand the series better. Thank you! 👍👍
Wow, I thought I knew what was going on. This was very helpful, thank you.
Best recap ever. Thank you for this.
Great video to help understand the plot a lot more clearly!!
Hi Bridge!!!! Awesome as always ❤️❤️
hey itzel!! =))
No Henry Cavill no party, this show is pretty much done. Will you be reviewing his new show Warhammmer ?
I've seen a lot of comments like that on trailer videos, but they didn't resonate with me. Henry did great, but I'm not vested in actors. I am vested in Sir Geralt of Rivia, so it doesn't matter who plays him for me. Moreover, despite the negative narrative about the show, both Seasons 1 and 2 got a lot of views. And the Season 3 storyline has the potential to be very strong. In other words, I would be shocked if Season 3 doesn't get massive views. And I am also expecting it to receive massive praise. We will find out soon =))
I've never read Warhammer, but every Barnes and Noble has an entire row or more dedicated to those books. It's a massive series. I'll probably end up reading it at some point and/or watching it =))
@@bridge4 changing an actor mid series always messed with me but hey, i´ll still watch it.
@@bridge4 people were only watching the show because cavill carried the show. im not gonna watch season 3, because the story is something different, than you would expect from a witcher title..
sometimes, i find it jarring. Ser Gregor Clegane was changed twice though, and I didn't mind him. I actually liked the Daario change since I'm a fan of that actor. and my dude Spartacus :*(
he died of lymphoma, and had to be recast. i found that one particularly jarring, but the new actor grew on me. and i loooooove that show =))
Henry definitely left big shoes to fill, but there are thousands and thousands of great actors out there. And I'm wired as an optimist.
I dated this girl once that was the total opposite. She hated getting her hopes up for things like the Jets or Penn State. But it's impossible for me to live without hope.
She was my favorite girl ever, so even though she was totally different, to each our own i guess =))
@@bridge4 my preference is Cavill but I'll give Hemsworth a fair chance .
This was great! I kinda figured I put it all together but this confirms it! Still don’t get why Ciri’s dad didn’t just announce he was alive & the king of Nilfguard & joined with Centra or just took down his monster in law & claimed his daughter & kingdom
was such a help understanding the plot💥 great recap man
Thank you!! I didn’t remember if I had watched season 2…
Honestly, I was just watching the show Henry Cavil and Freya Allan. I never knew the lore was this deep.
the lore is going to play a major role in terms of where the show is going and the endgame =))
Really well done video!
Great videos as always!! Still waiting for our MMA breakdown collab and podcast ! Be easy my friend!
Loved the video. Comprehensive.
thanks!
Wonderful recap!
thank you, ser!! =))
so glad to see a bridge4 in my feed!
i appreciate the kind words. i literally just smiled. thank you for that!
Fantastic recap!!
So excited for the Witcher! Yes watching tonight! All 5 episodes. Can't wait for your review?
just finishined! rendering now. will presumably need to tweek some transitions and timing and what not. but hopefully its up within the hour =)) cant wait for part 2!!
can you do season 3 recap? you did a pretty good job with the S1/S2 recap
big thanks man, i got more from your video then from watching season 2 and 3 lel
my pleasure. thanks, M!
Very good explanation and recap❤
Never thought I'd come across a story line more convoluted than ASOIAF 😂
lol
You're clearly not aware of Kingdom Hearts haha
@jonnnnniej never heard of it lol!
THE BEST recap I ever watched ❤
awessome video!!
Thank you so much❤
Feels like I'm back in History class at school! Will there be a test on this?
lol, well played
Fucckkk maannn... u r awesome. I didn't remember the entirety of the 2 seasons.. so I searched for this video.
.
This video, however, had a deeper impact.. I understood a lot more than what I saw casually a year or so back..
im glad was alright. this story has a long way to go, but im excited =))
the images when you talk about the wild hunts arent from the show, are they from the recent sequel (blood smith?)?
the cartoons are from "night mare of the wolf" and a few of the vids/clips are from "Blood origin." the shots of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri with the Wild Hunt are from the Season 2 finale, but the shot of Eredin picking up the helm is from Blood Moon
I've heard some complaints, but I'm really enjoying the show. I'm not happy about Cavil leaving. haven't read the book. I won't until the series is done. I saw that some 2 part show is coming out in July. Do you know anything about that?
yeah, Netflix is doing the "split the season in 2" thing that they've done for big shows like Ozark, You, and Stranger Things. first five episodes tomorrow, and rest of season 2 July 27th
in terms of the books versus show, if people claim that's its not going the same direction, id have to disagree. the overarching story is trending the same way. with that said, there are some major differences between the books and the show, especially in season 2
I really enjoy this show though. is it what I expected? no. i expected and would've preferred a grimdark, character-driven story like the books as opposed to a colorful action-scene show with monsters.
but when the show settles down to character scenes, i think it's pretty strong
the climax of Season 3 is going to be intense. i'm hoping thats the end of part 1, but we'll find out tomorrow.
enjoy, ser!
Needed me some more bridge4 in me life🙏🏻
lol, thanks
Wooooohoooo bridge 4 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
whats up, stranger!
@@bridge4 i missed you 😘
ditto
Thank you!!!
mypleasure =))
thanks, SSG! you as well =))
Thanks 👍
my pleasure =))
You give such a kind recap of S1 & 2 such that I almost want to watch S3. Yeah, nah, not yet. "Destiny is All." The Last Kingdom. Is there really "Destiny is Hope" for The Witcher?
my brain can't keep up with all that info 😂
my bad. i did my best to try to break it down :-/
nice!
So I can't seem to figure out how emyhr von emeris went from some dude marrying into the royal family in cintra to somehow becoming the emperor of nilfgard.... Can someone explain that to me?
This vid appeared in my home tab after I finished watching S3 Part 1 😅🤦♂
did you enjoy P1??
@@bridge4 the 1st ep was not a good opener for me but I did enjoy towards the end tho especially ep 5; overall P1 is just mid 😅 hope it will end in a spectacular way in P2 🤞
I ended up more confused than when I started
that was not my intention. my bad!
@@bridge4
the summary was great dw, i just forgot there was that much in the story
"Mey-lee-tel-ee" LOL... it's "ME-LITTLE-LAY" Me -- lit -- el -- e
im pretty sure its "mel-LEE-teh-luh", at least, in terms of the audiobooks. in the show, it's "mel-EE-tell-EE"
i actually thought about this with a few different words and names. i decided to go with the show pronunciation Melitele, Tissaia, and some others. But the one i refuse to change is Cahir since he's my favorite character, and i just cant get myself to use the show pronunciation since i've had him as "Kah-here" in my head for so long (as opposed to "KAY-here"
Guess who is prepared for season 3 now!! Knew my dad was wrong about me.
lol
Loved the video!
Season 1 was already kind of a mess for me ( i read the Books multiple times, they are not hard to adapt). Season 2 just went rogue and i think season 3 will go down the sh*tter. After season 4 the show will probably get canceled due to low viewer numbers. Such a shame, great talented people are on this show but ultimately every storys heart is the storywriting. Sad to say this show only has half a heart.
thanks!
Season 1s biggest mistake was over-complicated the timeline. one thing they did well though was the parallel theme's in episodes. for instance, Cintra falling and Ciri becoming a princess on the run, during the Renfri (princess on the run) episode. another example was Yennefer's transformation (rebirth) during the same episode of the Striga fight (rebirth)
although I enjoyed Season 2, my initial thoughts were that they made a huge mistake. on rewatches though, I think it was a pretty solid season
I'm about to hit play on Season 3. I am hoping for a great 5 episodes, leading into a gnarly climax. we will find out soon! =))
Haha where is shark. V 😂
im wondering the same :(
🦈
lol
I dunno if I will bother with the 3rd season. I love the books and the games but the 2nd season was one of the worst series I've ever seen in my life. Like it was absolute muck. I really hope its better....but because I probably will end up watching it.
When I first watched Season 2, the new storylines came as a massive shock. But I did enjoy it, and I've enjoyed it more and more on rewatches. And the season 3 storyline has the potential to be awesome. We will find out how they did tomorrow!! =))
@@bridge4 Ya maybe I should give it another go I just remember really hating it at the time.
the entire show felt off to me at first because i was expecting something way more grimdark. and to be honest, i would have preferred that
the show is very bright and colorful, and it leans into the monters way more than the books do since the books are mainly a character driven story. my guess is that they do that to appeal to fans of the games
but hear me out here. the show has some pretty good stuff. here's one example. when geralt held up a sword to Yen (my thumbnail), Jaskier or Yarpen said "is she yours?" (in terms of Ciri). and he lifted up his sword to Yen's neck and said "mine."
it's just one word, but Henry delivered it beautifully.
knowing how much Geralt loves Ciri, it almost got me teary eyed lol
i don't want to bore you, but i've casually done some thinking about what the show actually does "better" than the books... if you think about Yen in the books, she doesn't have much screentime. the show appears to be changing that so that it's not just Geralt and Ciri's story. I like that
another benefit of the show is that the mages have been given a lot more screen time. so instead of just seeing what they do, we are seeing the events that lead up to what they do
oooh, here's another one. Stregebor. he's in "the lesser evil" short story, but he's not in the main story at all. and i am very intrigued by what they are going to do with him (even if it's a little obvious)
here's my biggest concern with the show ... Bonhart. i fear that they might drop him, and if they do, that'll be a shame. with that said, Rience came to life beautiful in season 2!
ohh, one last thing. there's actually a lot of good writing that i think might be going under the radar. nods to major themes like fear, hatred, neutrality, and hope. if you ever rewatch, keep your ears out for the word "hope." it pops up everywhere (even with Triss hoping to save Adda instead of kill her, if i recall correctly)
Anyone else feel dumb? Because I'm still a bit confused on all these fractions
I love this show, truly adore everything about the show, and then that smexy man is leaving.....and you can't replace Henry Cavil 😂😂 so this might be my last season watching. 😢
lol. i've never heard that term before, but i like it. "smexy" lol. is that short for "super sexy" ? i feel like im missing the world since it should have an "m" ...
@@bridge4 it means smart and sexy, lmao it's okay I don't understand some slang words either. 😭 It just fits for him. I enjoy your videos and you have a nice charisma that carriers in your voiceovers. I can't wait till the House of Dragon videos come back.
ahhhhhh i get it now. very cool! (thank you btw =))
Destiny is all
Just let HBO buy the Witcher franchise. Medieval fantasy is their "thing".
B...
There he is
Dude Ciri has the worst backstop ever u talked about everyone BUT her...lofl 😅
lol, what do you mean? i gave her backstory a section in the beginning...
I don't know if it's your book-knowledge that spills into this or if the show simply is really lousy at telling the intricate story, but I've just learned several things I didn't have a clue of from just watching the two first seasons. To me it says the show is pretty shit and I should read the books. Thank anyways!
Season 1 not in chronological order was annoying af
Why didn't her father just come and announce his self why a war
Queen Calanthe attempted to kill him, twice, before she was forced to accept him. I don't think he ever forgot about that, or forgave her (to be fair, she was out of line, there). And Nilfgaard wanted to conquer the Continent. He was thinking like an Emperor, not simply a father. It would be really simple for him to just go to Ciri but...I don't think Calanthe would be welcoming, especially not with her daughter (Ciri's mother) being dead. She put Geralt in prison because she didn't trust his intentions. It's fair to assume she would do worse to the Emperor, even before he invaded Cintra.
Witcher is dead to me. 2 season show. Good while it lasted. Until Lauren ruined it.
The series fails to tell the story clearly
All i see is a big confusion
the voice feels a bit weird, like robotic
my voice? my bad. its just my voice, so nothing i can really do about it. i know a lot of big youtubers use fake voice, but i find fake voice to be nails on a chalkboard, so i just speak normally. and apparently, my voice is robotic lol
Definitely disagree, find his voice relaxing!
@@bridge4 just my comment, other people won't find it like this, don't stress over a comment
Season 1-2 are shite for the most part
Great video game. Stupid show.
