How to reset Nintendo DSi parental control passwords

Quick vid to show how to rest forgotten passwords on Dsi DSi Xl and wii
Steps
1:Go to settings
2:parental control
3:click "I forgot" Twice
4:take this number and enter it in the confirmation number space but make sure your dsi date is the same as the date on the website below

5: Once you verify date and enter code hit "get reset code" on website
6:Take this number and go back to dsi and click ok to bring you to the screen to enter unlock code.
7:Once this is done hit clear settings on dsi and that's it
Update: 8-2-13: I have not tried this for the 3DS and the way it looks it doesn't work for it. I want to thank all that have left comments and feedback and glad I was able to help many people. - Hry

Matt Whelan I let my friend borrow my daily fr pictures on his field trip and his order sister took it and I didn't get it back for two years then I lost it and now I'm finally able to have my daily back and the entire dsi

I have to say, I'm in quarentine and I found my old dsi and I bought a new charger for it and even my parents didn't remember what the password was (and rightfully so its been years since it was last used) and Nintendo would rather have you pay to fix the problem than help for free, thankyou so so much dude, 2012 was a time to be alive. as of 12.22.2020 it still works. make sure the date is the exact same as the website that generates the code. the dsi i had was one hour behind around midnight making the date wrong and it wouldn't work, so i fixed the date and it worked. thanks for the upload

Thank you!!! It did NOT work the first time BUT it DID worked the second time. I figured, well it's been 6 years since this video was posted and it may be outdated. HOWEVER, upon reading through the comments it was advised that you MUST change the Date settings to whatever you select on the website. I also changed the time just incase. I re-did the instructions and was issued the same master key and it DID WORK that time. Thank you very much for sharing this information!!!

OMG 2021 and it’s still working! It took me a few tries though, if it’s not working for you make sure to check the date on your DS and on the website. If they’re not exactly the same it will not work. If it still doesn’t work make sure you’re putting in the code correctly, I had it incorrect once or twice and it wouldn’t work. Another thing that worked for me is using the website on a laptop, I tried doing it on my phone and failed every time, but when I switched to my laptop and used the website it worked first try.

My sister's DS was given to her by a friend of my mom, and the DS had aprental control and well.. there was no way to communicate with the owner and so yeah.
