Hey great to see you here Stew! I mention you in my next video I'm going to upload in about 30 minutes...I got 97mph on my TT02RR. And then on the second run I crash into my foot at about 85mph...lol. Should be up in 30 minutes.

Good runs can't imagine that the stock gearing diffs bevel will hold up on this kit with that motor . Thanks for your upload 🙏
It actually held up until I put bigger diameter tires on it. then it grenaded...lol. After that I put a set of GPM steel gears in the rear diff. And running a steel motor spur gear. And now running a 3900kv motor. Has been ok offroading it.

Thanks my friend. To be honest the TT02B has weak ring and bevel gears. Weaker than an old school Tamiya like the Boomerang. On 3s my gears stripped after 1 minute off road. Since put all steel gear in. Then it snapped a front dog bone...lol
aboot? you Canadian EH? nice work dude! we also have a TT02B and its fun upgrading it, next will be a brushless 2S system, wasnt sure if the plastic gears would last though, great buggy to bash around smaller spaces like campsites etc. CHEERS!
Yep Canadian....from Toronto eh? 😂 But I don't say "aboot" really...maybe a little....lol. I ran the TT02B offroad on 3s and the differential bevel gear(small gear inside the diff on the end of the driveshaft) lasted only a minute. So I putt all steel everything in the rear gearbox and also put a steel spur gear on. It's pretty well bulletproof now. Thanks for watching brother.

Yeah for the money they are pretty great buggies. If you go 3s the diff pinion may break. I broke mine on 3s but with bigger diameter tires. Before that it seemed to take it. This was a lot of power though. A 3s battery and a 5900kv motor. Also I was running on grass and dirt so there was no traction then a lot of traction so that kinda shocks the driveline. You will enjoy this car.

0:40 Surpass Hobby is good, but 5900kv is a little bit way too much for the plastic gears of tt-02. And 3s on top of that. 2300kv sounds better for 3s. Imho. For comparison, the new Traxxas bl-2s system is 3300kv and its 2s max pushes hightower Stampede up to 35mph easily. I still use brushed cans for old Tamiya cos I want them to last a little bit longer.

No plans for that. The stock gears on these are kinda weak(Glass reinforced) but it makes them brittle. It fine for stock or brushless with 2s but on 3s I broke the diff gears in 1 minute literally. I put all steel diff gears, spur and pinion for the rear so she wont break now. I also snapped a glass reinforced dogbone...lol. This is my son's basher now so it's pretty bulletproof for him now.
3s with stock gears? You're going to be shredding them
Yeah I ended up putting steel gears in the rear but the front gears are holding up ok.
I have a tt02b Plasma Edge. Im slowly upgrading all the drivetrain, gears etc before I switch up to 3s from 2s. Ive already replaced the stock pinion with a yeah racing titanium pinion gear and a yeah racing driveshaft.
Those gears must of stripped ? Upgrading to metal df-02 gears helps so much
Actually the gears held up fine until I ran it on the grass with Traxxas Rally tires...then the diff pinion broke. So yeah I put GPM diff gears in and a steel motor spur gear in. The front plastic gears could handle it all fine but then I snapped a plastic axle shaft...😂 I took the Traxxas Rally tires off and it has been fine on and off road on 3s since.
@@KaizerTest Awesome and yeah, the gpm is another way to go and you don’t need the df02 diff case but it’s more expensive. It’s a real fun buggy though, pretty good chassis.
