That was fun to watch and nothing broke too. Thanks Glenn! Watched it to the end
Thanks Eric 😊😊😊
I watched to the end 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you 😊
Looks like a lot of fun. I like the track. I watch the video to the end
Excellent thank you 😊
Hi, I think the best way to improve the car is one change at a time. Changing to many things you won’t know what works and what doesn’t. A pinion and tyre change to start see where that gets you then play with diffs, remember one step at a time will get you where you want to be and you reduce your chance of tripping. Yes I watched to the end
Fantastic comment Richard and yes that’s 100% how I’ll be doing this 😊😊😊
Lol! "I WATCHED TO THE END!!!"😄. Hugely entertaining as always and a brilliant first run. Can't wait to see the car go from strength to strength. BRILLIANT!!😃👍
Fantastic I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend, more to come yet 😇👊🏻
Deffo watched to the end, always do.
It's great that evenna TT02b can be made to be capable.
It would be nice to see indoor tracks like that coming back in the UK too.....
Another fab video.
Excellent I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end
Fun watching you at the track. Looking forward to the tuning.
Really enjoyed this series, can't wait to see what happens next. I watched to the end!
Thanks Stewart I’ve ordered the new tyres and we are back at the track on the 14th 😎🚗💨💨
Built up a tt02b with a sand scorcher body over the last weeks and ive followed your project, all good stuff, Watched to the end :)
Fantastic thank you 😊
I Watched to the end Glenn cheers. Great video.
Thanks Steve 😊👊🏻
Watched to the end !!!
Really enjoyed this video, great driving - I would have taken out at least one ceiling fan !!!
Keep up the fun
Cheers Ian
Thanks Ian 😊👊🏻
Watched to the end. Great first track day.!
Thanks buddy 😅👊🏻
That looked like a whole lot of fun and glad nothing broke!
Thank you 😊
I’ve watched till the end! I love all of your vids but especially love the tt02b series. Looks like a great track day. Some more improvements to the car and it will be that much more fun to drive.
Thank you 😊
I’ve just ordered the new carpet tyres and I’m back at the track on the 14th 😎🚗💨💨💨
The track has such short straights and so twisty I bet a standard silver can is enough
Yeah I dunno tbh 🤷🏼♂️. What I do know is I drove the B74 straight after and never
missed that big jump 🤷🏼♂️
Definitely not rubbish! Watched to the end, another great video, absolutely loved watching it do what it was made for. Can't wait to see it and you take it to the next step! Cheers!
Thanks Robert 😊👊🏻
This is by far my fav channel now. I just came back from running my stock old top force outside the house, love the way it drives. Turns on a dime. Perfect for a medium/small parking lot. Got a 13,5t stock motor setup on 2s. Just fast enough so I dont crash. Will be running the exact same setup in my evo when its finished=)
Fantastic thanks for the lovely comment my friend 🤩👊🏻
For any carpet track you need carpet tyres, 100%:
-For a track like that you need thinner oil up front
-less toe in on the rear
-slightly higher rear ride height
-stand the rear shocks up
-try a rear sway bar if you have one
Also take the front jump on an angle. At the 16:50 mark of the video you can see the line you should launch the buggy at so you got a straighter line into the first kink. Land the buggy nose first on the downwards face of the landing jump, use the brakes to bring the nose down
Thank you 😊
Still watching. Doing up my TT-02b, gona go all alloy, 3s and 9t brushless. Got all the parts for my weekend project. Fun buddy.
Fantastic that sounds like a great weekend my friend 🤩🤩🤩
Of course i watched the whole thing to the end!
Thanks Pete 😊😊😊
Glen, to answer your question on setup: racing is different from drift where you actually want a softer front than the rear. You could use less grease and see if it helps. It’s a cheaper tuning method of seeing how it affects your performance.
As for your hop-ups, everything you shown is where you want to go with any TT-02.
The Yeah Racing mount is miles better than the Tamiya version because you can run ANY tooth mesh like 48P or 64P whereas with the Tamiya, you’re stuck with 06 Module. You’ll still need to ensure both spur and pinion gears are the same pitch but the YR mount gives you much more options though you will have to ensure that you mesh the gears correctly with a piece of paper.
The 68T spur is the same as the one supplied in the TT-02 High Speed Gear Set. Get a few while you can because they’re not the easiest to get hold of when they’re sold out. As for pinions for Tamiya, you can run a 29T pinion in it but 27T is what the TT-02 Type S comes with stock and with just that and the 68T pinion, it goes like stink!
Last, I would recommend a radio like the FlySky Noble NB4 or Futaba 3PV because then you get to see your inputs and how they could be affecting your lap times. Plus, you want to mail that main jump and having a radio that allows you to see your inputs will aid in being more consistent. At least that’s what I tell myself now after buying a Noble NB4…
Anyway Glen, looking forward to the next installment. I knew you couldn’t really hate the TT-02.
EDIT: It should go without saying but take each improvement slowly and one at a time to see if you’re really making an improvement or not.
Fantastic information my friend 😊😊😊
Great vid Glenn, watched till the end, really enjoyed mate.
Fantastic I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend 😊😊😊
I watched to the end. I can’t believe nothing broke. It took some hard hits! Anyway, it looked like you enjoyed yourself. Looking forward to the next instalment 🙂
Excellent thank you 😊
I run my TT02B on Carpet almost exclusively. (Dual Block K's, 3300kv Hobbywing MAX10) For me running the front toe out greatly improved the turn in. I also run 4 degrees camber front and back. It works fairly well for the track I run on.(Thunder Road RC, MN) You could always try the one way diff from the TT01 to help turn in. Love the content keep up the great work!
Excellent information thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end.
Indoor racing on carpet looks like a blast. I'd like to try it.
Glenn great video.... enjoyed your Duke's of Hazzard jumps .... and I watched to the end....👍
Thanks Patrick 😇👊🏻
That's a cool little carpet track.
This is awesome, Glenn. Was great to see your progression throughout the video, and I love the way you rocked it with a Tamiya whilst all the others had fancy race cars. If I had a track like this near where I live I'd be there every weekend. More videos like this showing off the other side of the hobby, 👍🏻...... and I watched til the end.
Fantastic I’m glad you enjoyed the video my friend 😊😊😊
Watched till the end,excellent!
Thanks Sean 😊👊🏻
Your damned right I watched to the end, it's because of you I now have a plasma edge build going on with all the same hop-ups 🙃
Haha that’s fantastic 😊😊👊🏻
Well done Glenn, give’s us all an insight into how skilled racer’s really are…I know I wouldn’t have done as good job as you did!…blimmin tricky that big one was, thanks for the brilliant video🥰
Thank you for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
What a good track loved watching Glenn 👍👍👍😀
Thanks Neil 😊😊😊
I watched to the end. Looks like you had fun and thats the main thing, did way better than I could thats for sure!
Thanks Dan yeah it was an absolute blast 😅👊🏻
Oh and I did watch till the end mate 👍
Haha thank you 😇🙏🏻🙏🏻
One of the many reasons I picked up a TT-02B. They take a licking and keep on ticking. Great video Glenn.
I would definitely get at the front gearbox, it seems stickier than normal. I have the Tamiya AntiWear grease in mine and it's super smooth. I found that a decent 20-25KG fast servo made a big difference over a Futaba S148.
Fantastic thanks for the feedback my friend 😊👊🏻
That was awesome to see, that’s my go to local rc store/track. Great store. Xtreme rc Oshawa. Well done glen.
Fantastic we’ll definitely be going again 😊😊😊
Glenn I had been wondering if you are Canadian. Seeing you race at a track in Oshawa confirms it for me. Don't know why I never got around to just asking you. I am a couple of hours West of you in a tiny hamlet named Port Bruce. I love to watch your videos. You have such passion for your hobby. I picked up quite a bit of knowledge watching you and from the comments of your subscribers. I used to race a Falcon in the late 80s and can't help but wonder how it would have done on that carpet track. Thanks for my favourite channel!
Hey thanks for the lovely comment Brian 🤩👊🏻
Great video , and I did watch it to the end 👍 . After watching I will go and buy me the TT02B , it preformed pretty good . Thanks Glenn
Fantastic that’s awesome 😎
I watched till the end 👍
I watched to the end !!!
Thanks Mark 😊👊🏻
Made it till the end!😉.. was another good vid., I can imagine that getting the car straight in line for the jump under the pilot's podium isn't easy.. looking forward for some more track action👍🏁
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
I watched till the end
Great to see it go over the track. Love the build 👍
Thanks buddy this one I have enjoyed from start to finish 😊
We watched to the end! 🙂
Thanks Michael 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end 👍
Had a pro give me a car control tip. To not look at your car while driving but just ahead of it. Took a lot of getting used to but improved my driving on the track to another level.
Oh interesting thanks for sharing this with us my friend 🤩👊🏻
Watched till the end. great video love what your doing with the rc cars, I got my son a TT02 a few years ago and the body has great lines.
I watched to the end, nice video and Greetings from Belgium 😉👍
Thank you 😊
I watched to the end
Thanks Steve 😊😊😊
Made it to the end! Nice buggy
Watched to the end. And I would say it's a success as well👍
Thank you Brian 😊👊🏻
I watched till the end
Great video.great project 👍😃
Thanks Ian it’s one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve done 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end 😀, awesome project, can't wait for the speed runs!
Thanks Richard 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end. I think you did well on that track Glenn, better than I would have. 😁
Thanks Jeremy 😊👊🏻
I watch till end
Looks like you had a blast so you did it right , that’s all that matters.
100% it was an awesome day out 🤩👊🏻
I watched till the end 🙂
Thank you 😊
Always to the end Glenn, He He and thanks for spoiling us with another awesome video , just superb so different and yes that TT02b looked agreat getting around and getting the jumps right seems really challenging , fun and excitement no doubt thanks for sharing a great day at the track bud and for the speed runs that will be just awesome and will be interesting to see the speeds achieved , beauty thanks again Glenn.
Thanks Andrew 😊😊😊
+1 watched to the end. Nicely done.
I watched to the end!
Different tires would have helped for sure. Getting the throttle right for each jump is definitely challenging, especially the first time out to a track like this. I think you and the car both did absolutely amazing!!! I hope nobody ever feels embarrassed or like they didn’t do well enough to be at the track. Great job mate!! And the Tamiya did good as well.
Lovely comment Jason 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end. Awesome video, keep it up
Fantastic video mate, your confidence on the inclined hairpin turn and the following jump was excellent, that final jump though looked a total pain in the arse.TT02B(Glen special)looked really good going round a track, it just shows u that u don't need top end cars to have good fun 👌👍
Thanks Carl 😊
Yeah just needs a bit of tweaking and I’m pretty sure it will improve dramatically 😇🚗💨💨💨
I watched to the end , the funny thing I found out with my outdoor dirt track is that the bone stock TT-02b and DT02 seem to handle the track better than my hop up versions do . I think it has something to do with the weight and balance . With less power they seem to be much more controlled through the turns . Which actually proved to me that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun at a track .
Yeah that’s a great point Eric, there’s a ton of fun to be had for not big money 😅👊🏻
Watched to the end as assays
I know you do and it massively appreciated 😇😇😇
I watched to the end 👍😂 really enjoyed the project performance series!
Late to the party, but stayed til the bitter end!. Looking at options for getting into rc building and seriously inspired by what you've done on this TT-02B. Great wee series of videos - really enjoyed watching 👍
we all watched to the end I'm sure :-)
I watched to the end! 😂
I watched to the end 😉
I really enjoy your channel and content 👍🏻. Don’t be so hard on yourself - the track experience was really interesting and showed a different side of RC driving that I’m not familiar with - my boys & I use our lunchboxes & pumpkin down the beach through the dunes. It was interesting to highlight a different skill set - beyond having a souped 4x4 RC car and giving it some beans! You got some great lines on the course - glad you got to land a couple on the big jump! Really good stuff 👍🏻🙂
yeah made it to the end! Cheers!
I really enjoy this video I would love for you to keep on doing this with Tamiya cars on a modern track.
Excellent I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend 😊😊😊
You did good Glenn. Going to a track for the first time can be intimidating.
Yeah next time out will be different 😊😊😊
As long as you had fun mate
That’s what it’s all about my friend 😊👊🏻
I watched till the end 👍👍👍
Thanks Chris 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end .. lol
Thanks Michael 😊👊🏻
Ha ha I did not watch to the end.😁😁😁
Haha 😂😂👊🏻
Wow that car copped a beating, so surprised nothing broke. Btw, I watched till the end 😁
Thanks Peter 😊👊🏻
As your tires are the only thing that touches the track, they are the number one, most important item of your set-up. For me number 2 is gearing. As you found out that track is a high-ratio track. The big jump needed smooth acceleration and maybe ½ to 2/3rd throttle at most. But this is were a sensored ESC is a must. Your driving needs practice. Practice is the number one Hop-Up. Nothing else will make your buggy handle better or lower your lap times faster. Have fun making your car right and making you right for the buggy.
I watched till the end! lol. Better than I expected the chassis design works better for smooth surfaces such as indoor carpet. Could never get my Neo Scorcher was rubbish on a rough dirt track, not enough droop.
Bit painful, but good show I finished it and look forward to seeing more of this kinda content..
Watched till the end!! Enjoyed!
Thanks Andrew 😊👊🏻
I watched too the end 👍🏻
Fantastic watch
Keep up the excellent work
I’m new to the hobby so it’s educational to me 👌🏻
Great job Glenn I think you did really on a small technical track like that. My understanding of front diff is thinner oil would give more turn in and possibly help the car to rotate in the corner. Awesome video.
Excellent thanks for commenting 😊👊🏻
Awesome, bit late but watched to the end. Great to see how it turned out, Its given me something to think about on my Plasma Edge. Good work Glen.
Don't worry about your driving man, i noticed you had fun, that's the most important factor. I am not the greatest driver but the fun i have is priceless, 👍great channel. keep up the great stuff you got yourself a new follower.
P.s. I stayed to the end. I have to hear the famous words. "HAPPY RCING" before I turn off. 👊
Lol thank you 😊
well done glenn, set up is key, do one change at a time,i used to run 2 wd and 4wd buggy, both were associated, have not run indoor off road in a few years now, been running outdoor off road for 5 years now, normally race at ottervill and barnyard for out door, also been running on road on the black crc carpet at rc Niagara indoor, be going this sunday for the last race of the year at rc Niagara indoor.
That’s fantastic I’m hoping to do a couple of Barnyard meetings this year 😅👊🏻
Watched to the end loved it car looks awesome
Thanks Chris 😊👊🏻
'Til the end, Captain Glen!
Thank you 😊
That sure looked like great fun!! Nicely done 😊👍 Oh, and I watched to the end 😀
Fantastic thanks my friend 😊👊🏻
Great vid Glenn. Heavier diff lube at both ends to help prevent wheel-spin, fast brushless servo, lower gearing, tyres, radio...current setup is a good start...I raced indoor & outdoor, but not tight & technical like that...I'd probably break things after couple of laps. The TT02 stood up well, & still looks shmick! I think speed runs with the car wouldn't need much change to reach 70! Another great video...much appreciated.
Schmick???
Thanks Rodney 😊😊😊
@@mikeymike3240 Shmick means "Excellent"
Hey mate. I've actually spent a lot of time with my TT02B MS on track, and here is what I have found to work the best.
Schumacher Mini Pin tyres. Yellow compound rear and silver front. Use the medium foams all around and stick to the wide 4wd fronts, not the narrow 2wd style.
Run 6mm hex adapters front and 5mm rear. Increasing the front track is imperative to getting rid of the understeer.
Make sure you get a steering assembly with ball bearings. Yes GPM usually makes crap parts, but their TT02 setup actually works really well. Also lose the servo saver. It is a big deal to get rid of the slop in the steering on a TT02B.
Make sure you run toe out on the front. This really helps the car dart fast into the turn.
Run a hard spring in the back. This will help the rear get a bit loose and rotate. Medium front springs.
Keep the front diff open. You need this as you don't have a centre diff. Keeping it open will allow the outer wheel to rotate at ground speed thus retaining grip. You will lose a bit of straight line traction, but most will still be in the rear. Run a heavy rear diff lube. 50k at least.
Use a shorty battery pack. Move it forward. This will balance the front a lot better, especially if your servo is light.
When your diff gears start to strip, which WILL happen soon, get the GPM metal gears. Again, one of the very few thungs they offer actually worth a damn. Just be mindful that there might be some burrs to get rid of to fit them on to the shafts. Yes, they are GPM parts after all, but once you get them set properly, they are super smooth and your TT02B driveline is bulletproof.
The TT02B is a much stronger runner than many give it credit for. Will itvrun with a 503? No of course not, but a well dialed TT02B will trash a stock Top Force Evo.
Hey this is incredible information thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us my friend 🤩👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends
You're most welcome. If you go with a shorty battery, cut some blocks from PU foam to place in the tray either in the front or back of the pack. This way you can experiment with where the balance suits you the best.
By the way, would you be able to recommend someone who could do a paint job on a TT02B MS shell? I want someone to do the TT02B MS box art in a cool airbrush version.
@@AB-80X
yeah unfortunately all the painters I’ve used have packed it in. Attack RC are awesome but there located in Spain but really are awesome 😎
@@TAMIYALegends I'm in Europe too, so shipping from Spain can work for me. How do I get in contact with them?
@@AB-80X
There definitely on Facebook and Instagram but I’m not sure if they have a website 🤷🏼♂️
I watched to the end...lol
Thanks buddy 😊
I watched to the end!… always do 😂👍. Awesome video Glenn🔥🤘I would have never been able to do that jump either, looks really tricky to get it right.
Thanks David 😊👊🏻
I watched to the end brother - loved it!!!
While I know there’s folks who can manage to move a tenth scale buggy around a track like that cleanly for most of us that’s a track for smaller cars. There’s no way in hell I’d get any car through that in one piece 😄
I’m impressed with how much stronger modern kits are - can you imagine what would happen to an 88 avante?!?
Oh gosh that’s no place for the Avante 🤣👊🏻
I used to set my mesh with a piece of cardboard from a cigarette pack. It always seemed to work perfect for me. I could get the right spacing for me. It might be a bit loose for carpet but it's always worked for me.
Yeah I think a lot of the Tamiya manuals suggest using that technique 😊👊🏻
I WATCHED TIL THE END!! Always do.👍
Thanks Jason 😊👊🏻
Oh, how I miss GP Speedway in Brampton. Indoor, dirt track. It was the best in Ontario at one point. This track in Oshawa looks like it would be great for 1/12 - 1/16 scale offroad. I think I have to go there.
Yeah I really wish we had something close to us in Kitchener 🤕🤕🤕
@@TAMIYALegends the only thing close to me is the Mississauga RC Club on Meadowvale Blvd. They have an outdoor dirt track, but the ruts and banks are really deep. Fun to drive on for a while, but it's definitely not what I've been used to. I work about 30 seconds away from it, so it's nice to have an RC escape during the lunch hour. Hehe.
Hi Glenn, loved the video, you were really starting to get in the swing of things! Definitely think the set of carpet tyres would be a massive help, the stiffer front diff should aid in pull out of the corners, it's how many people race the tt02 on road/carpet aswell.
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
