- On January 19th, 2024 - Officers were dispatched to a local Walmart for a drunk homeless man that was shoplifting and behaving erratically. Upon arrival, officers find the man eating stolen products. During his arrest the man becomes angry threatening Walmart employees and the arresting officers.

Anyone who threatens a police officer should have a mandatory 90 days in jail, I don’t care how drunk they are.
They're starting to crackdown on it but when someone is impaired either by substances or mental illness they get away with so much. As an ER nurse i've been assaulted many times and the only time they've ever been taken to jail is when police witnessed the patient punch me in the throat. Judges tend to be far too lenient. Something needs to change
As someone who loves drugs I agree. I know not everyone is the same but quite frankly I have been very very very drunk as well as subject to all other sorts of insobriety and never once done anything excessively mean or aggressive let alone commit commit outright crimes. I'm not posting this to brag but just to vent that I resent other people who do drugs that for some reason cannot handle it like I or other people I know handle them. I don't know if it's just biology or if it's because i waited until I was grown up to really start partying but these losers confuse and enrage me. People like this are the reason society has to have so many restrictions and occasionally be so harsh; because the lowest among us cannot appropriately control themselves. You want to know what crazy shit I do when I get REALLY drunk guys? I run around the city, on foot; buying meals for homeless people. No cap. I just find it really fun. Conversely; I have also been subject to intense withdrawals and while I can certainly get kind of irritated I don't starting stealing or attacking people. I really want to know why this happens; Drugs are chemicals and medicine is a science. Both the chemical make up of the drugs as well as the human body are both known factors; you would think there would be little to no distinction from how one person reacts compared to another at least on the biological sense. The only thing i can think of is that our individual bodies/brains must be more unique than we believe and perhaps thats why some people are fine and others freak out. I personally also am big on the "nurture" aspect of the nature vs nurture argument. I was TAUGHT how to do drugs and PRACTICED doing them "correctly" so i'm convinced part of this is cultural and peoples parents and adult authority figures are not preparing the young correctly. There are of course scientifically verified exceptions such as some of the indigenous ethnic groups of North America who's bodies seem to process alcohol more intensely or something but im not going to opine on that given I am not a medical professional or anthropologist.
TL;DR: It's possible to do drugs "correctly" ergo people like this who do not should be considered HERETICS for ruining them for the rest of us; not to mention society on the whole.
Make me the Drug CZAR. I will fix them. We are going to do what the Army does and wake up at 5 AM still drunk only to go on a 2 mile run to distribute breakfast to the local unhoused.

Cops ask why he keeps coming back. Because he knows he will face no consequenseses and will be released back into the community after a warm sleep and a couple of meals. He will keep doing this untill he is locked up for good but the states don't want to pay to keep him.
That's not exactly the way it works. States make money by holding inmates. Look up prison industrial complex and read up on it

The chances are she's just going to discuss his behavior to her coworkers and they are going to be highly aggravated and will be more likely to take their grievances out on him which is a loss for everyone involved, including the poor innocent taxpayers in cases addressing police misconduct.
